Old Chicago is something we tried because it was around the corner from our hotel so we were able to walk there. Also, they had nice late night hours on a weekday which is what we needed. We really weren't expecting much as we went in and sat in the bar side of the restaraunt. We ended up ordering this delicious pepperoni pizza with hot sauce on it. So great!!!! I want to try this at home! The waitress was super helpful with food and drink suggestions and brought me a few samples to try because they have a rotating tap. Her suggestions were right on par for my tastes and I was very pleased with what I ordered. It was something unique that I couldn't get in most places in California unless I went to a specialty retailer, so that was a fun thing. The vibe of this place was really cool. They played lots of alternative rock and some nice 90s tunes. It seemed fairly busy for a weeknight, too. We wished we could've stayed and eaten and drank more because it was so delicious, but we needed to get some sleep and not over eat since we were on a cross country drive. Came into Billings late. Ordered food to be delivered. Quit getting updates on our delivery so I called GrubHub, the company associated with Old Chicago. Was told our food was left outside our door 45 minutes earlier. My husband was waiting in the lobby and never saw them. When we checked with the front desk, they said no one had been there with delivery. Note you need either a card to get in the back door or to come in the front door at the check in desk. Well, this happened to one of my friends, who was merely feeding her infant as she patronized this poorly poorly run establishment. A tshirt was thrown and she was told to cover up as if she was doing something that is BY LAW, perfectly LEGAL to do. In this day and age, it is repulsive to see the attitudes that some have towards mothers who are simply providing their child with a meal. This is even worse. Really wanted to give this place 4 stars, but the service wasn't so fantastic, cooking the pizza took waay too long, so 3.5 stars. Other than that (and the fact that they dare call a room with only keno and poker machines a casino), the food was BOMB. I got the chicken pesto artisan style pizza. It was huuge and so filling. The chicken wasn't dry, I could see and taste the layer of pesto underneath the ooey gooey cheese, which wasn't too salty, just perfect, the caramelized onions balanced out the richness of the pizza beautifully, and the crust was amazing, kind of thick, but not chewy, and a little crisp. Soo good. I tried a bit of my boo's fisherman's catch (of course), which was basically fish and chips with some fried butterflied shrimp. The coating on the fish was nice and crispy, with just a hint of beer, and the fish itself was nice and firm, not falling apart. The fries were just eh, I've had much better. Now, the cool part of this dish was that I hate shrimp, I hate it, I don't know why, but I do. But, I absolutely loooved the shrimp in this basket. It wasn't oily or overly coated and the shrimp had a very nice texture and kind of sweet flavor. The tartar sauce was nice and creamy, and not overly tartar-y. I'll definitely come back to this place if I ever stop by Billings again. Eat here, not at the airport in Billings. It's just a little off the (90 west?) freeway. read more

The menu looks great here and if I ever come through here there are so many things I'd love to try, they have something on the menu for everyone. Best pizza! We ordered to go and the food was ready exactly when they said it would be and was still hot by the time we got back home, about 10 min down the road. We arrived early for pick up so while we waited, we had a drink in the bar. The bartender was great, helped us out immediately and gave awesome suggestions of local on tap beers. Ok did a comparison of old Chicago and bullmans it was very close it's personal taste. Chicago has several great beers on draft and a pizza that is pretty good. You have one that is wood fired the other oven cooked. My wife liked the beer selection and flavors of ingredient. My personal taste is wood fired and ingredients so with both neck and neck in taste it will come down to either who's driving our switching off. Like their fried pickles are $5 and they give you maybe 10 pieces. You're telling me a fried pickle nickle is 50 cents a pop? Nope. What a joke. Everything was scaled back and it was noticeable. From the amount of cheese put on a burger to the amount of chips in the nachos. It was obvious they were cutting corners to save a few dimes. By all means do what you have to do, but i will not return. So by saving 75 cents on me, you lost a potential $1000 over my lifetime. GOOD TRADE! Why not just make a customer happy? She is excellent at what she does, being attentive without being overbearing. She made a couple of beer recommendations, one of which I followed. Twice. My wife and I split an order of Spicy Fried Pickles. They were pretty good, but I don't have a baseline against which to judge them. The wings were outstanding.
