Divide Bar & Grill is rarely a disappointment. They seemed to have worked out a niche between brewery and cookie-cutter restaurant. There's nothing spectacular about the building itself, but its spot right next to the conservation area gives it something other places have a hard time copying: A great view. The outside seating next to the conservation area is always in high demand. There's a mix of seating, high tables, low tables, booths, and the bar. The staff is friendly, but they don't linger. The downside is timing on drink refills. It can run from perfect to asking if you want a refill just as you're ready to get the check. The food is what is consistently good. Of the things I've tried, the nachos and the burgers have been good. The fish tacos, with the grilled fish, have been a mix -- the first time were delicious, the second time, the fish was dry and overcooked. The salads have also been good. The Divide's take on poutine, the Big Sky Fries, is one of the better appetizers unless you're low-carb eating and then your appetizer choices are limited.

Came up from Powell, Wy to do some shopping in Billings started to look for a lunch spot and found this great Bar & Grill near Scheels. great place. Ambiance was very nice, great selection of on tap beers. I had a local IPA and a PB&J burger that was one of the burgers I've had. The sweet potato fries were a bit undercooked but still had great flavor. My wife had The Bacon Ale Cheddar Soup and said it was great, the waitress was attentive and took great care of us. If you're in the area and tired of chain restaurants this should be your go to.

    Is it dog friendly?

I'm not quite sure. They do have an outside patio. I'm sorry I wasn't more help.

We ordered two burgers, which were fairly average and not quite what you might expect from a high-end steakhouse. That said, the fries were excellent--crispy, well-seasoned, and easily the highlight of the meal. At first, the burgers seemed fine, just not particularly memorable. However, as we continued eating, they became noticeably dry. We also realized that the cheddar cheese was missing from both burgers, and my wife's avocado was also not included. We later learned that condiments like mayo, ketchup, mustard, etc. are provided only upon request on the side, which would have been helpful to know upfront. My wife and I were engaged in a good conversation and our waitress was busy but still attentive, so it wasn't until we were most of the way through the meal that we discovered the issues. When we brought it to Louisa's attention she contacted the manager who was very understanding and kindly credited the burgers from our bill, which we appreciated and felt was more than fair. Tonight we were simply in the mood for a lighter, more casual dinner, and while the burgers missed the mark, the overall experience and service still reflect a restaurant we would return to.

Ok, so, we started with crab cakes and oysters. The oysters were East Coast oysters and I'm from NY, so I had to get them. I haven't had raw oysters in over 20 years, and these did not disappoint! They were so delicious, I ordered 4 more, but they only had one more of the one I wanted, and I happily took it. The crab cakes were good, too. So maybe we should have quit while were ahead.... It took an hour to get our meals, and when we did, I was unimpressed. Mine was slopped onto the plate, with mashed potatoes smeared on the side and the sauce dripped on sides of the inside of the rimmed plate. The potatoes looked congealed, like they had been sitting out, and they had, because the food was cold. I asked for it to be heated up, and I'm fairly convinced they microwaved it, because the plate was warm, but the food still wasn't. The steak was extremely salty, potatoes gluely, and the broccolini was bitter and woefully under seasoned. My husband offered to switch plates. He has the pasta, which was also not very good, but at least it was hot. The description said andouille sausage, but it was clearly kielbasa, and the sauce was greasy and separated. Who hired these so-called chefs? Where did they get their degree? Do they even have one? We go out to eat so rarely. I'm a fantastic cook myself, so when we go out, we want the food we order to be better than what I can make at home. Especially at $30 a plate. So, alas, they get 2 stars, for the excellent service, the delicious oysters, and the beautiful ambiance. They apologized profusely and took my horrible dinner off our bill. We are so grateful for that. We will be back for a pretzel. And more oysters.

It's not like your run of the mill Applebee's, it's more elevated. But, you can still dine in dressed to your comfort and bring the entire family along. The service is usually great. We've dined in on a few busy nights and have still had great service. I'd say one out of every five visits, we get a server who obviously doesn't want to be there and it shows. But thankfully, that's not the "norm". We've tried a handful of appetizers here and my personal favorites are the Jack Daniel's prime rib bites and the Mushroom Buttons. I love looking at whatever specials they're serving up. After a trip to Alaska, we came into The Montana Club and I was so excited to see the King Crab. It was an obvious choice. I could eat these every day. My husband is a simple man, give him a steak or burger and he's good to go. One of his top picks is the Cowboy Burger but he has also really enjoyed the ribeye and prime rib on other visits. Thankfully, when we're in town for work, we usually stay across the street so dining here is a no-brainer for us.

If you're an iced tea drinker, I highly recommend getting a spiced iced tea. I was skeptical at first, but it's actually just cinnamon iced tea and was lovely. I had the nachos with ground beef. The sauce was not a generic out of the can sauce. the chips were crisp and the ground beef was well seasoned. The only complaint I have if I have to have one is that the jalapeños were very thickly sliced and took over the entire flavor of any bite they were in; a smaller dice on them would've allowed for the jalapeños to be spread out over the entire nacho and not overwhelm the rest of the flavors. My companion had the mushroom Swiss burger with fries and said they were both a solid burger and fries no complaints. Wheelchair accessibility: accessible parking across the street with a crosswalk; the front door is heavy so you're gonna either need help or be able to open a heavy door and there's actually two doors but plenty of room to maneuver between. the path of travel wasn't bad and there's wheelchair accessible seating in the back of the restaurant. There is no wheelchair accessible seating in the bar area. The bathroom door was light .The accessible stall in the women's bathroom had a grab bar, but there was not sufficient turning radius and the soap was up a little high.
