Divide Bar & Grill is rarely a disappointment. They seemed to have worked out a niche between brewery and cookie-cutter restaurant. There's nothing spectacular about the building itself, but its spot right next to the conservation area gives it something other places have a hard time copying: A great view. The outside seating next to the conservation area is always in high demand. There's a mix of seating, high tables, low tables, booths, and the bar. The staff is friendly, but they don't linger. The downside is timing on drink refills. It can run from perfect to asking if you want a refill just as you're ready to get the check. The food is what is consistently good. Of the things I've tried, the nachos and the burgers have been good. The fish tacos, with the grilled fish, have been a mix -- the first time were delicious, the second time, the fish was dry and overcooked. The salads have also been good. The Divide's take on poutine, the Big Sky Fries, is one of the better appetizers unless you're low-carb eating and then your appetizer choices are limited. read more

Came up from Powell, Wy to do some shopping in Billings started to look for a lunch spot and found this great Bar & Grill near Scheels. great place. Ambiance was very nice, great selection of on tap beers. I had a local IPA and a PB&J burger that was one of the burgers I've had. The sweet potato fries were a bit undercooked but still had great flavor. My wife had The Bacon Ale Cheddar Soup and said it was great, the waitress was attentive and took great care of us. If you're in the area and tired of chain restaurants this should be your go to. read more

If you're looking for something fancy - this isn't it. But if you're looking for a chill atmosphere to get a good, hearty burger - you've stumbled on the right review. A good burger is always hit or miss. You can make something delicious that pairs great with a cold beer or make a patty that could probably be classified as beef jerky that no one will ever eat again. And Divide got our burgers right. I'm a mushroom & swiss type of girl and will order it almost anywhere when I'm craving a good burger. The one I had on this visit can easily be classified as a "good" burger. My fiancé really enjoyed his too. So much so that despite the tiredness of spending most of our day in a car, he devoured that thing...we're talking by the time I added some ketchup to mine, his was halfway gone. The service was okay. We stood at the front door for a bit before being greeted and had to flag down our waitress for water refills. In the area from out of town and tried this spot. My wife had a bacon beer cheese soup (can't recall the exact name) to start and it was delicious. She ordered the Baja fish tacos and they were great! I had a salad and the Divide burger. It was very tasty and juicy. The best part of our meal was the service. We had the best lunch here today. The food was amazing (we had the Gallatin Grinder and the big sky burger). The restaurant was clean and quiet considering how busy they were. The service here is incredible. We were greeted as soon as we entered. Our server (Kenzie) was at our table as soon as we sat down with menus and took our drink order. She made great recommendations when asked. She was very attentive and brought our food to us as soon as it was ready (we could see the kitchen from where we sat). Billings isn't going to run out of Pubs, breweries or bar food anytime soon, so finding your go to spot is a must. With all the options I am confident that I have chosen wisely with regard to "my spot" in choosing The Divide. The Divide has great beer, awesome extras and as an LA kid, it has some very decent tacos which seems to be real trick in Montana. I suggest the carnitas tacos but I have also enjoyed the fish tacos for sure. The service is always great and I can do a quick lunch or dinner without getting stuck with slowness caused by not being staffed well enough which also seems to be a Billings tradition. read more

The food was awesome. I got the breaded fish tacos. Delicious. Another person got the margarita pasta and I tried it. Possibly the best pasta I've ever had. Easily my new favorite restaurant. Aside from the awesome food the place is nice and clean. Waitresses were awesome about keeping cups full, answering questions, recommendations, and clearing plates. Prices are awesome as well. We had a peanut butter jelly burger and the onion ring burger. Both were very good. The spicy peanut butter was new for me and if recommend giving it a try at least once. Nice patio in the evening. Spent the night in Billings and looked around for a good places for dinner and decided on The Divide. I They have a good selection of beers on tap. I started with a wedge salad. Maybe the most pitiful wedge salad I have been served. It had plenty of toppings (onion and bacon) but has barely enough lettuce to cover a burger. I had the carnitas tacos that were tasty and good. I wouldn't call the pork carintas, maybe pulled pork, big difference ( maybe spoiled by carnitas in California). My son had a divide burger that he said was very good. The service was good. It is self seated but was approached by the waitress fairly quick. The waitress was very helpful. read more

I've eaten here about a dozen times over the past year and the food is consistently below par for the prices. Don't get me wrong the menu is awesome but there's a problem in the kitchen. Last thing I got was the Cajun chicken pasta. $15 for undercooked pasta and not trying to be a Karen here but the flavor was pretty kitchen sink tasting. Barely made it home before I threw up hard. The bar staff is friendly but never asks how the food was and it's important to know for a restaurant where their food can be improved. We enjoyed an evening on the patio here. It overlooks a wetlands and walking path, so it is very pleasant and peaceful. I had carnitas tacos, which were very good, and we sampled several of their signature cocktails, which were all very tasty. Our server was having a rough day, and made a couple of small mistakes, but was super apologetic and very funny about the issues--which made them into non-issues. We arrived on a Saturday night in August 2021 around 6 PM. We immediately got a nice table looking out over the patio and the pond beyond. Our server, Mike, was one of the best servers we have ever encountered. He was attentive and super friendly. There were four of us in our party. We all agreed the food was excellent. My favorite was the bacon, cheddar cheese and jalapeño soup with croutons. I would go back just for that soup. During this time of Covid, it was nice to see a restaurant that was fully staffed with cooks, servers, bus people, etc. The next time we are in Billings, we will definitely go here again. Mozzarella sticks are gritty & my go to meal has declined in quality since Covid. However, the Scotch eggs are excellent. I hope the owners up the quality game here. The service at this restaurant is above and beyond however the food doesn't measure up. We ordered lunch. Caesar salads and a side of onion rings. The onion rings were to die for , but the Caesar's were served with wilting lettuce. We should have sent them back. That was our mistake. Our daughter complained that her Cobb salad had no egg which was listed as an ingredient on the menu. This was our second attempts at this restaurant. Typical burgers and fries may be fine.
