This visit was to meet up with some former coworkers who were in town. They chose Harrah's due to several of them wanting to hit the slots after eating. Wouldn't have been my choice but... Food: I ordered the nachos. I also took care to see what others ordered. And though it was all standard American Bar food (exactly what you would expect), it came out rather good. Nothing spectacular, but certainly what you would expect from the place! Service: Very friendly and trying to keep up, but extremely slow. I don't know if it was multiple tables? Delay in cooking? Maybe the table looked too deep in conversation to order. But the service took a long time. 5 mins for water. Another 10 for a cocktail. Another 20 to place an order. An additional 20 to get the food. AT LUNCHTIME! Ambience: It was a typical Bar and Grill in a Casino. I would never go to this place if I didn't have plans at the Casino or, in this case, meeting people. Overall opinion. Eat somewhere you really want, then go to the Casino.

Went in for the crab boil and this place did not disappoint! My daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo, we also tried a peach long island tea, the service was slow but with the crab special there were several families there. We would try it again but hopefully the service is a bit quicker on food delivery.

Service and convenience are the two stars. My 14 y/o and I are traveling across the country and know a good burger. Today, June 2. We saw waygu, yum! Nope. Never asked what cook level but well done is a sin with waygu. We got charred burgers that looked like previously frozen pressed patty. Ice cream sandwiches to go left us with crystallized freezer burnt ice cream in betwix two delicious cookies. Fries were good. Vibe was cool but food severely lacked. Glad I didn't bother taking pics of more than the menu. $84 down with trip for two burgers and 2 sodas

I was actually surprised with the quality of the food. The previous restaurant for this location was mid. But now with the renovation and ownership I have seen a-lot of improvements. Everything from food, service and ambiance was great.

Came here before a concert. Sports bar type place. We were seated right away. The server took our order a few minutes from sitting down. I ordered country fried chicken. It was very good. The chicken had a crispy coating. It came on top of a generous portion of mashed potatoes smothered in country gravy. Since I'm not a gambler I would come back here if I go to another concert.

    Pretzel bites!

We ate here twice throughout our Marriot stay. Both times, while the staff were friendly, there were not enough people working- the wait for service and food was not quick. The food, overall, was okay but it was not flavorful. I'm a sucker for a pretzel; it was the best item we tried. We did not, and will not, return for food again.

Thank god this was a free salad because this is basically all I got after picking out the chicken.. what a joke. Disgusting. The employees were complaining about each. Where's management? Where's quality control? Ceasars was bought out for a reason. Going down the drain considering I'm a diamond plus member

The space feels relaxed and approachable without trying too hard. Big open taproom, easy atmosphere, good energy. The kind of brewery where you can settle in for one beer and accidentally stay for five. Mary behind the bar was awesome right away. Friendly greeting the second I walked in, super knowledgeable about every beer on tap, and genuinely helpful without making anything feel scripted or sales-y. Hospitality matters to me a lot, and she made the experience feel welcoming immediately. I worked my way through quite a few beers: Hop Cuddle, the collaboration with Tall Trellis, their Mexican-style lager, Weathered Wit, Pavers Porter, and the rice lager. Every single one was excellent, but that rice lager was probably my favorite. Crisp, clean, refreshing, incredible mouthfeel -- one of those beers that disappears way faster than you planned. Weathered Wit deserves a shout too. Light tartness, citrus notes, classic Belgian yeast character, ridiculously refreshing. Everything you want from a witbier on a warm day and they absolutely nailed it. (beeradvocate.com) Also, I'm genuinely excited to see breweries collaborating again. Beer feels more fun when breweries are creating together instead of existing in separate lanes, and it's cool seeing that energy still alive in Kansas City craft beer.

It's definitely a spot I'd come back to on a normal weekend. The Drinks The Hits: The Hard Cherry Mash Sour Cider and the bright green Scooby Snack were both fantastic. The Miss: The Irish Coffee. They couldn't tell me what kind of coffee they used--a major red flag for a coffee cocktail. The Food (Bay Boy Specialty Sandwiches) They were serving sandwiches from Bay Boy alongside gourmet chips. I grabbed the El Jefe with Sweet Onion Hawaiian chips. The Sandwich: A killer Cuban-inspired build on their signature Dutch Crunch bread. That bread is the real deal--super crispy on the outside and soft inside. Because of the crowds it did take about 20 minutes to get our food but the girl behind the counter was really nice despite trying to serve hordes of celebratory drunkies. The Atmosphere Beyond the beer, the parking lot was full of food vendors and some really cool cars. Definitely worth checking out for the vibes alone!

I have been acquainted with Callsign brews for a while but had never stepped foot into the actual brewery space. Thanks to pub pass that all changes because nothing entices me more than a bogo beer! And to top it off Tuesdays happen to be $10 beer flights so it was a double win. As far as the food menu goes, it's nothing innovative just good bar food classics like sandwiches, burgers, wings, wraps, and appetizers. This time around we went with beer drinking staples- wings and loaded tots. The wing prices I thought were pretty fair ten bone in wings for $16 ($1.60 a wing isn't too bad nowadays). You also could split the ten count with two flavors which is what we did. The first flavor that caught my eye was Parmesan Truffle which I thought was a unique rift on the classic Parmesan Garlic, I was pleasantly surprised when these came out and were dry rub. I prefer a dry rubbed wing because first of all, I love salt and these tend to be definitely more on the salty seasoned side than saucy wings that can be syrupy sweet sometimes depending on the flavor. Secondly, with a flavor adjacent to Garlic Parmesan a wet wing can be very heavy and thus, have the tendency to get soggy. The only qualm I have with these wings is that the flavor didn't exactly live up to expectations, it had nice seasoning and the Parmesan flavor was detectable however, I never got any of that umami flavor of Truffle. They were extremely crispy though and I would order them again. Now onto the next flavor, I decided to order the other creative flavor on the menu (the other two were Hot and Mild) this was a hot honey bourbon glaze. Again, this flavor promised a punch of flavor and didn't fully deliver, I got the notes of the sweet bourbon glaze but none of the heat from the hot honey. The wings themselves weren't over-drenched in sauce so they did stay rather crispy but, it wasn't anything special. The last appetizer we ordered to munch on were the loaded tots which were pretty standard but, good drinking food. They were indeed loaded with lots of liquid cheese, crispy pieces of bacon and a healthy drizzle of ranch. Just so you know, these are listed as loaded fries on the menu but you can sub tots which I was grateful for since I think a tot stays more crispy than a traditional fry when toppings are piled on. Now onto the star of the show, the beers of course. We started with a flight to share so we could each choose a favorite brew to over a full pour of and utilize our Pub Pass. The smoothie sour was my favorite of the bunch which surprised me since I'm usually a hazy IPA girl. That was also a solid choice though and it's what my friend ordered as his full pour. The smoothie sour though was peach cobbler flavored and had the sweetness of ripe peaches, I instantly fell in love, it wasn't as sharp and sour and instead had a smooth finish. Some sours are tougher to drink but this went down easy. The other beer that stood out on our flight was the wine beer, almost akin to a cider but stronger in flavor with a base of Malbec (my favorite red wine). The color was vibrant and it had a rich flavor profile of grapes. Not sure I could have drank a full pour of it though if I'm being honest, it was a little too intense.

During my recent visits, I repeatedly observed behavior from one of the bartenders that made the environment feel uncomfortable and unprofessional. This man has frequently crossed personal boundaries and generally came across as someone who was more interested in making female patrons uncomfortable than providing good service. Instead of feeling like a place where everyone could relax, the atmosphere felt like a boys' club where inappropriate behavior was tolerated. The biggest disappointment wasn't just the employee's conduct--it was the lack of action or acknowledgement by management that concerns are taken seriously. Instead of addressing complaints, they move to suppress reviews. When an establishment allows and enables behavior that makes customers feel uncomfortable or unsafe, it reflects on the business as a whole. I used to recommend Border Brewing without hesitation, but I can't anymore. There are plenty of breweries in Kansas City where everyone can enjoy themselves without worrying about being subjected to inappropriate comments or an unwelcoming atmosphere.

First of all, looking at my last review I realized that the Rad AF was the first IPA I really fell in love with and really changed the way I viewed IPAs in general - now they are my primary beer of choice which would have shocked 2019 Sarah to hear. The things I said in my last review still ring true as the beer at City Barrell anywhere you get it whether it's in the taproom or at the liquor store is pricey. The difference now is that everything everywhere is pricey and I maintain that their beers are still amongst the very best in town, so in short, it's honestly probably a slightly better value now than it was in 2019 when it's all said and done. Now onto the food. You're going to find bar-fare here and they do it really well. We had cheese curds and I had a sandwich and "fancy fries" all were delicious. Next time I'm going to do their appetizer platter and just enjoy all the bar food deliciousness. What put this into 5 star territory for me though was our server - she was so nice and welcoming - it was honestly just one of the best casual dining experiences I've had in a long time.

So we loaded up and showed up one day around Noon. Ambiance was really cool. It's in the middle of some sort of progressive looking shanty-esque suburb. The kind of place that does drag queen bingo. I was right at home. Inside was college sport bar, but with a nice, huge board on the wall of all their beer selection. It Was quite expansive. Service was top notch, too. Nice server took care of us, made sure our glasses were never empty. The food came out at a good clips, and we got an unexpected bonus of free little beignet-like donuts with some delicious dipping sauces. As for food, we started off with a jumbo order of the Truffle Parmesan Hand-Cut Fries for the table. We got to choose two from their extensive list of aioli dipping sauces. Fries were good. Dusted with the perfect amounts of truffle and parmesan. And the sauces were my oh my. I recommend paying the upcharge to just try them all. I mentioned the time earlier, because we had no idea we were stumbling upon their brunch menu. Even more options to choose from! I got the Crispy Waffle Smash Burger (smashed hertzog beef patties, fried egg, smoked bacon, merkt's cheddar, caramelized onion, maple aioli, crispy buttermilk waffle). This thing was really nice. Perfect waffle, not too small, not too big, and no oily or anything obtrusive. A nice bun option. Eggs and bacon sometime get lost against giant burger patties, but with these smash patties, the extra accoutrements really stand out and make this burger really stand out in my mind. I also for the try the Smokestack Burger (smoked burnt ends, smoked gouda, whiskey bbq glaze, pickle relish, chipotle aioli & crispy jalapeño straws). Uhhh, as you can read, this thing was loaded with goodness. Fatty burger, smokey burnt ends, sweet boozy glaze, acidic pickles, and texture from that jalapeno. This was the perfect burger. I insist you order this. Overall, my research did not reveal Beer Kitchen to me, locals recommendation did. Shows that you gotta use your street smarts instead of your book smarts sometimes. Best meal I had in Kansas City.
