Pear After Dark and Butter Proof Sour

We'd been out of town for a bit and couldn't wait to get back to Acre -- this time to try their new Grazing Menu, a three-course surprise menu ($75, served Tuesday-Thursday). As promised, three courses built around the best of the season -- and it delivered from start to finish. Dinner began with a surprise amuse-bouche -- a hush puppy that was piping hot, crisp on the outside, and soft inside. Not your average hush puppy -- this one was rich and buttery, the kind that makes you pause after the first bite. First Course: Blue Cheese Soufflé with garlic crostinis. As a lifelong blue cheese fan, this was my idea of comfort food. Warm, creamy, and full of flavor. The portion was generous -- easily enough for two -- so we brought half home to enjoy later. If I had one suggestion, a slightly smaller serving might make it even better. Second Course: Roasted Roulade of Duck Breast -- one Mallard, one Muscovy. Both were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The difference between the two varieties was distinct -- one a bit deeper and gamier, the other more subtle and tender. The portion size surprised me -- far larger than most restaurants would serve. Acre always delivers great food, but the presentation and execution here were exceptional. Third Course: Panna Cotta (goat cheese, whipped cherry meringue). A light and clever finish to the meal. The goat cheese gave it just enough tang to balance the sweetness of the cherry meringue. It hit all the right notes -- simple, elegant, and satisfying. We also decided to branch out from our usual cocktails and tried three new ones we'd spotted on Acre's Instagram: * Pear After Dark (gin, spiced pear liqueur) -- bright and clean, with a subtle pear note. * Butter Proof Sour (brown butter-washed whiskey) -- rich, smooth, and a little dangerous. * Falling Leaves Latte (vodka, pumpkin spice liqueur) -- fall in a glass, not overly sweet, just really well done. Each drink was creative and beautifully balanced -- clearly made by people who love what they do. Another outstanding night at Acre. The new Grazing Menu is a fun addition -- seasonal, generous, and a great value for the quality. Highly recommend giving it a try before the menu changes again.

We came for the restaurant week menu and the steak was 10/10. Our waiter was so friendly and offered recommendations. It was also very fun watching the kitchen from our table. We will be back!

Not my first time and it's always amazing! Definitely in my top 5 restaurants in KC. They certainly have unreasonable hospitality", they have a team approach for the tables, and service is excellent!! We also received an explanation of the handmade grill and the method of grilling, smoking, ... that made this visit even more special. Emmanuel was our waiter and he did a fantastic job, very polite, professional and attentive. We will be back again soon! Thank you Acre!, Keep doing what you're doing!

Came here for my birthday dinner and did the 5 course menu with wine pairings (spoiler: 6 courses with dessert!). Everything was sublime. The staff are amazing and the food is all local/farm-to-table and prepared with passion. Worth the splurge for a special occasion! And we will be back for the "regular" menu too... I must have more of that rabbit and cappellacci dish!!

My lawd! Dinner at @acre_kc was phenomenal! We got a reservation at 6pm and the restaurant was almost empty... by the time we left at 8:30 it was packed! Our waitress, Kate, was knowledgeable, kind and is clearly dedicated to the restaurant- having been there three years. I got a festive holiday mocktail, and then we split the beef tartare. Every plate that was brought out from the kitchen to other tables had our mouths watering. My friend had the fairytale pumpkin soup. Check out the video for the presentation! For entrees we got the half chicken and the wood fired sirloin with carrots and chimichurri. The portions were generous so we both took leftovers home. Yum! The drive to Parkville was not bad and parking was easy to find. They were very accommodating of my dietary restrictions. Will add this to my list of places to revisit!

Packed restaurant on a Friday night - definitely get a reservation! Our server gave some great recs and was quite attentive. We ordered the beef tartare, rabbit pasta, trout, and fried chicken. I'm not a huge fan of tartare but my friend enjoyed it. Everything else I would order again without hesitation. Great flavors. Bigger portions than expected so we had leftovers! For dessert we had a chocolate cremiux. It was very rich and had great balance of textures. Perfect for chocolate lovers! Overall, great date night spot and delicious food with good value portions for the price!

...oops, this one is almost a year late...my bad :P Fingers crossed I can remember enough - but lets just say it was a wonderful anniversary dinner. Chef's counter is always a fun time for us (especially with a set menu) as it make boyfriend actually trying things he wouldn't. i.e. The Beef Tartare. Which I loved and he was kind of ambivalent about! He loved the hush puppies as they had a wonderful kick to it that we always enjoy. The Cappelletti with the braised rabbit was such surprise as we both aren't the biggest fans of rabbit...but it tasted so amazing. And the beef...so good and being able to watch them cooked over the fire...amazing. It was great to learn about the food and process from the Chef/Owner but also to talk to the various Sous Chefs. Look its totally worth the cost for the chef's counter - you get amazing food, great conversation, and a show! Especially for any special occasions...or you know...you just wanna have a wonderful meal and a great time!

I had the pleasure of going out on a date with my husband at this lovely restaurant. When we arrived, they were completely full and only had a few spots open at the bar. I'm glad we sat at the bar because our server Angel was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable with the menu and crafted tasty drinks for us. We ordered the American Wagu Tartare. This was a delightful dish. It was a but heavy on the mustard, but if you pair, it was the pickled cabbage and capers all the flavors balance perfectly. We were able to try the house made ricotta cappelletti, and this creation was delicious. The braised rabbit and mousseline paired perfectly together. The dish came with four pieces, and each piece was so rich with flavor that was all we needed. My husband ordered 45-Day Dry Aged Ribeye. Loved it. I ordered the 8oz dry-aged agnus burger. This was cooked perfectly. I ordered this because the menu started it had a red-onion marmalade (which was perfect). I didn't notice it had spicy aioli, which overpowered the entire burger. Honesty, it didn't need the aioli (my taste buds couldn't handle it). This was a pleasant experience, and we will be going back again.

Acre is a great fresh fine dining experience in a comfortable setting. Indoor or gated outdoor tables. VERY clean and very green environment using natural fiber cloths, lovely plates and silverware but the terrific FOOD! That is the WHY of going to ACRE. My Beet Salad, Delightful Newest Pasta Dish + Mildred's Lemon cake .. all for under $45!

I just cant....how this place has any less than 5 stars is BEYOND!!! From the rolls to the salad to the dry aged steak, sides, cocktails and through to dessert-everything was a perfect 10. Loved my server! Loved the patio with great music-whole place was a vibe. Real drr aged kansas city beef-silkiest potatoes-pistachio harissa carrots...one bite was better than the last. Espresso martini and midwest peanut butter pie rounded out the 10/10 meal! Good thing I dont live here or this place would be a problem! The chef trained at The French Laundry so you know its fantastic! Go and thank me later!

Acre is a solid dinner date spot with friendly service and a seasonal menu. The focaccia was the star of the night--worth coming back for. Overall good, not mind-blowing, but I'd try it again.

Fantastic each time. From start to finish. Even held our breath and brought children here last night for a special dinner. No need to worry, no one had a single complaint. Chef Andrew even took time out of his busy dinner rush to spend time with my youngest. Love! Wait staff are top notch. She kept drinks full and plates cleaned. Very pleasant. We noticed last night that even though the restaurant was completely full, we were still able to have our own conversations without having to raise our voices to be heard. Really elevated the ambiance. Absolutely incredible to have this special place right down the street from us.

Service was efficient. Both items were generous portions. The tackle box was fish, shrimp and whole chicken wings. The basa fish was crunchy and flaky, wings fried perfectly and shrimp was juicy and large. Yummy! The tackle box came with 1 side- I chose Mac n cheese. Not my fave. Would not order again. The chicken Philly was huge. I couldn't finish it. It was kinda dry in parts like it needed some mayo or some kind of sauce. The fries were good, but would've preferred them to be fried a little longer to be more crunchy. The seasoning was good. I ordered a side of cabbage. It was good. This spot was about 30 minutes from my house. But I would recommend you try if you are in the area. Pro-tip- get there before noon. Or call ahead. It gets pretty busy after 12. And because it's cooked to order it's not quick. We waited about 20 minutes. The next time I'm in the area, I would def stop in to try the shrimp po boy and the collard greens.

With all the…read morenegative publicity and illegal activities associated with Rockstar Burgers last decade, I don't think the naming choice was well thought out. I foresee a re-branding in the near future. Anywho, it's not my investment money. I came with a group of co-workers on a Saturday evening last week for some socializing. This involved food for everyone but me since I arrived late and had already started my pre-party elsewhere - and why kill a good buzz!? I did arrive in time to see the food delivered and consumed and the burgers and loaded fries did look excellent. We started on the patio and moved inside for more drinking and to play pool. The place has all the standard attractions that a suburban bar & grill would have. Pool, video golf, sports on TV, a good speaker system, tons of neon bar signs and waitresses in skimpy outfits. Speaking of waitresses - ours was named Kylie and she was a hoot. A natural for the customer service industry. Funny, efficient and friendly. Would I go back? Sure, next time for food and hopefully Kylie will be our server again.

TL;DR - owner charges for drinks you didn't buy and provides very poor service…read more Owner tried to bill me for 9 drinks, which totaled nearly $100. When I asked to see the receipt, he said that several of the hash marks made were "accidental." My party had 6 drinks. Two for me and four for the person who wasn't driving. The price somehow still landed, after refunding me for the extra drinks I didn't have, at $60 without food. I drank two tank 7 pints that he told me he wasn't allowed to fill the glasses on and she had well rum. Does that sound like $60 you want to spend? The food looked good, but the owner (we were told our bartender was the owner) is clearly a scumbag. It's sad because we were excited for the new karaoke show on Saturdays and would have been regulars, but I don't patronize thieves and will never spend a dime here again. Also, regarding karaoke, there were multiple times where the bartender/owner went and fiddled with the KJ's equipment? I've never seen that at any karaoke night in the metro. There was also a loud buzz from the house speakers all night (not the KJ's equipment). I don't think the owner cares about the success of this business. I think he actually wants to run a strip club, given that he also required the KJ to stop multiple times and let some young girls dance on a table instead of the scheduled karaoke. Maybe this is a selling point for you, and if so, just keep an eye out on what drinks you're actually buying, because if they can sneak one in on ya, they will.
