Stopped for lunch after we finished shopping at Belk. They have no red ale on tap kind of a bummer. YUENGLING was nice a cold so a great alternative for sure. The margarita was not frozen. Had the meat livers pizza and it was very good not very crowded for mid afternoon which was nice. Service was quick and professional nice atmosphere in this establishment. I was excited to find Old Chicago while traveling to Waco for my birthday. It was a go to restaurant while I was in graduate school. The food was nostalgic and tasted amazing. The Thai pie pizza is a perfect blend of Thai food meets traditional deep dish Chicago pizza. However the service was lacking. We sat and it took 5 minutes before a server came to our table to take drink orders. The server says they didn't realize we were there. We were seated right in front of the server's kiosk...they told us there was some confusion of who was the server. They didn't realize until the bartender mentioned we haven't been served yet. Halfway through our meal the servers changed and there was some miscommunication with the change that caused some lack in service. We went on a Wednesday night around 7:30 and the restaurant was not busy. If you're a sports fan there is an abundance of TVs to enjoy whatever you're trying to watch so the environment was good in that regard. Overall food was great. Service was poor. read more

I have been here many times and service has always been great but they hired some new girl it seems like her name was Camryn G. and has no idea what she's doing. This place wasn't even busy!! Maybe 6-7 tables in the whole place and she only had 2 tables!!! I went to eat dinner at 6:30, 20 September with some friends. The girls ordered wine. It comes in cans which is pretty pathetic. The waitress was young but she was ambitious and professional. She inquired to the bartender regarding the availability of wine and if there were any in bottles. The bartender began to belittle her in front of us and just acted as if she was useless. This didn't happen once but 3 times. The 2nd time was an altercation in between them but the waitress remained professional " you can't read, it's right in front of you" why shaking his head. Long time fan of OC being a traveler. Sad to see a decline in available locations. The Waco location is a prime example of the problems plaguing this iconic franchise. I've been in the area for several months and OC is a "go to" for me due to work life food balance. For starters, pick up orders are almost always delayed. Secondly, the cooking staff apparently have difficulties differentiating between requested (paid for) toppings. They seem to be quite fond of green onions, even if you don't order them. Extra cheese = extra sauce on multiple occasions. Tavern thin crust = whatever whoever is making the pizza at the time. In short, they employ a few waitresses with such smiling faces, you take your pizza and leave only to find it's far different from what you actually ordered. No one wants to be the A-Hole checking the pick-up with a line of at least 3 families (or equivalent) at any time. Come on OC. You guys used to be the standard. Casper WY is still holding it down last visit. Little Rock closed sadly, and Waco is not doing the franchise any favors by being inconsistent on all fronts. Sad for such an iconic franchise. Not sure what the issue is but OG OC Fans such as me remember a better Old Chicago, with accurate orders, and less focus on smiling waitresses who deliver orders far different from what was placed. Food is really bad! I am going to start off with the negative and end with the positive. We ordered online through Door Dash for some Old Chicago, heard great things about them. Upon delivery, we were in shock. The pizza (which we ordered a regular pizza not a personal pizza) was a burnt personal pizza, cut in pieces like my grandchild would do. It is made on French bread type dough (like stuffers). I am from NY originally, and my husband travels to Chicago every year. THIS IS NOT CHICAGO PIZZA!!!!!!!! We also ordered fried mushrooms with ranch. No ranch. Mushrooms were soggy and in grease. We spent close to $40.00 on this. I have been restaurant business a very long time, this is by far the most disgusting pizza/ mushroom place in town. Food was a strong 4 stars and once I got service, it was awesome... unfortunately, it took a long time for anyone to even acknowledge me from the moment I walked in. I hate having to take stars away when the experience was saved my the great bartender... The bartender was slammed during a busy lunch on a Friday afternoon, so I was super patient when I sat at the bar and Jeremiah ended up being so rad! He was busy , I totally get it, just a bummer it took so long for anyone else to help the guy out an even greet me. I ordered the lunch individual pizza special, ale house crust with 2 toppings and a house salad for like 8 or 9 bux! My pizza came out pretty quick and it was really delicious... crust was just the right crisp and the flavor was awesome! The jalapeños had some heat too, which I love. I was so disappointed in Old Chicago, our most recent visit will most definitely be our last. The hostess and the waiter were both some of the most rude and blatantly disrespectful people I've ever had help us, and the food was just shy of being inedible. When we got there the hostess that "greeted" us was rude and very bluntly told us it'd be about a 10 minute wait, even though there was only two other taken tables in the entire restaurant. Before we could even say anything she walked away from the front hostess booth. Not even 10 seconds later a very awesome busboy came and sat us right away. We ordered our drinks and appetizers and had to wait nearly 25 minutes for both. When we finally got those our waiter plopped them on the table and quickly left to "check on another table". After we finally ordered our food we have to wait yet another 25 to 30 minutes for a chicken sandwich and boneless wings with waffle fries. When the food came out we noticed that they didn't bring out the fries. When we tried to say something our waiter pretended like he didn't hear us and walked away. When we finally flagged him down about 10 minutes later, he brought out some regular fries and then walked away quickly. When we got his attention again, he said that they were out of waffle fries and just brought those instead, we told him we did not want the fries and he took them away. All the food was horrible, burnt, tasteless, and overall unpleasant. We finally got the check and the fries were still on the bill, and once again were ignored by the waiter when we tried to get his attention. We got to speak to the manager who did her best to take care of everything. The ONLY reason they're getting two stars instead of one is because of the super awesome busboy who was nothing but kind, fast, and friendly. Everyone else was very rude and unprofessional, and the place overall just felt slow and dead, not lively in the slightest. We came to the area to purchase a Camper from Crestview RV (amazing place btw) and while they were getting it all cleaned up we came here for lunch. When we arrived the hostess said they were really short staffed and that it would be awhile for our food. We weren't in a big hurry so we decided to stay and grabbed a seat at the bar. We wanted to keep it simple so we ordered a draft beer and basic pepperoni pizza. Aww. I really hate this. By the time I left Waco I was hoping to leave a higher star review but the service has really not gotten better. So after getting hyped up by one of the bartenders and another bartender from another spot I came back late night to try them out. Now look at my check ins yelp. I have been here many many a time and always get a little personal pizza or buffalo chicken rolls.. So I tell the bartender my issue with the wings. Size. Fixed now so got Jamaican dry rub wings. Tasted like someone cooked the wings then sprinkled jerk seasoning after they were cooked. The actual chicken was bland and reported to bartender. Now this is one of my fav bartenders. I love her. So after about 10 min she says u don't want them?. No. They are not seasoned and she explains they season the chicken after cooked. Well no I don't want them. She goes to the manager out on the patio n says she doesn't like these. Hey, speech pathologist here so yes I am trained to read lips within my view. Not sure what was said after that as I was out of view. But I was not offered anything as a replacement. So I took it upon myself to go back to the manager's office and knock on the door and just give him an update of all the issues I've had here and the communication I have had with the general manager of this place who I guess is now someone else. He indicated the bartender said she asked me if i woud like an alternate meal. She did not. I like her. I would not lie on her. She did not offer me anything. I also went back to the bar and called her out. And she said she thought she had offered me something else. Nope The manager did offer me a personal size pizza to go. I did accept that. But they still have service issues here. Just the little stuff that would make it so much better.
