A lock of hair with my jalapeño? No thanks.
    J A.

Ordered a pizza with three toppings, but I got a fourth: a lock of hair! Well, that went straight to the trash!

My yummy pizza!!! It has chicken, shrooms and half Jalapeno half green olive. Hot fresh made to order. Very yummy and loaded w toppings

Only updating because of their superior service. The rating hasn't changed. Yelp reviews attracted me here and their excellent food as well as excellent service has kept me coming back. Today we got a great deal 2 medium pizzas w 1 topping and cheesy bread and 2liter for 19.99 plus tax. The pizza was yummy see below and the cheesy bread delicious. My fiancé can submit her pie if desired. The salads again yummy as well as their sandwiches!! EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE: Sorry for all caps. The service today was excellent. I came in very upset caused by another situation. The manager?? Cheered me right up with a very honest smile. The exceptional service occurred when he saw my cane. He offered to "deliver" the order to my car instead of my having to make multiple trips. Even though I didn't ask. He was very understanding about my mobility without drawing attention to it. He also informed me that I got my customer loyalty points and can get my ten dollars off my order. If you wish to know about that as well as them sending a pic of the delivery driver etc read my original review. They did once give us the wrong salad once but since it was no big deal to us we didn't mention it to them. I do know that they would have fixed it if we had brought it to their attention. Fortunate to have such a great crew and good food at Marcos.

    Wonderful pizza tonight.

I love marcos but it varies by location. The hewitt/woodway location is absolutely disgusting. People are nice but the food is horrible.

They tasted just like a tortilla chip though soooo... I think 2$ is more appropriate (menu also had GF at 4$ and then we were charged 5$ at the end in which I thought I'd be getting gluten free bread too but alas, the app was really really good - a friends complaint is that it could use more lemon flavor, I can see that too) I was also charged 4$ for my gluten free pasta, but the dish was so so so good. The creamy sauce was absolutely incredible. I had the shrimp scampi along with a blueberry syrup mocktail and I was completely satisfied. Also had a taste of the blueberry martini which was also very good. My friend had the lasagna which she rated at 3 stars and said it was overcooked but the sauce was good. My sister had the lobster ravioli and it was undercooked, too al dente for her liking and was dissatisfied as it was the most expensive thing on the menu. My sister would go back, my friend would not, and i definitely would. Service was very nice. I just looked at my receipt and there is a charge for "rustic bread" so I'm not sure what that is... did they charge us for both the GF crackers AND the bread that should have been included in the appetizer? That's also not cool.

We ordered the 20" for two and it was more than enough for two guys that can eat a lot. The slices are huge so if you want more slices you can ask for a double cut and it'll make the pizza go even further for a table of more people. The pizza is extra hot when it comes out and oddly it tastes better as the cheese cools and solidifies. It isn't bad when you get it. It gets BETTER. Ranch is free which is not the norm these days so dip away! Service was fast and efficient even tho they were busy. Whole pizzas so take about 30 minutes but slices are always available to purchase. My only suggestion to the kitchen is to have all good timed to come out at the same time. We had someone with us that ordered pasta that came out about 15 minutes before the pizza came out and we told to eat before their food got cold.

I've had the Chicken Parmesan pasta, the Margherita pizza, and the Pepperoni pizza. Each of them was above average. The Chicken Parmesan came with a nicely breaded and cheese-covered piece of chicken with spaghetti and two pieces of garlic toast. It was good, though it could have used a little more red sauce. Pizzas are available as 20" or 14" pies, and certain ones you can get by the slice. The crust is medium thickness, light, with a soft core and a crispy outside. The Margherita was good but I preferred the Pepperoni. Overall, both pizzas were above average. I especially liked the crispiness of the outside of the crust. They also have salads and wings. Dessert consists of cheesecake or funnel cake fries. I haven't tried any of these yet. There is an inside dining area, a bar area, and an outdoor patio area. The inside is shared with Common Grounds coffee shop and Heritage Creamery ice cream shop, a couple of other local favorites.

Sauce was flavorless. Crust was meh. Even the cheese seemed as if it were food service grade from a huge bag. It was just underwhelming like PeterPiperPizza from when we had to take kids to a bday party. Daughter's dish had shrimp, red sauce, and pasta. Pasta was overcooked. Sauce lacked flavor. And even at that, it was garlicky to the point of bitterness, and we LOVE garlic. She brought most of it home where it sat for a couple of days in the fridge and then got tossed out. It wasn't gross food, by any means, and the relaxing atmosphere was what we were hoping for (not overly loud), but at the end of the day, we have no desire to go back. We really love supporting the local mom and pop shops, and I hate to leave negative feedback, but this just wasn't it for us.

That isn't to say that the offerings here were dirt cheap but rather that I didn't feel like the food hall setting was a license to jack up prices. Union Grove boasts a respectable variety of vendors for its size, and the offerings range from Cajun to Asian to pizza and wings and more. I opted for the ironically named Health Camp, the Woodway outpost of a longstanding Waco burger-and-shake joint. While the shake selections looked tempting, I limited myself to a Health Burger (cheeseburger), tots, and a drink. At the risk of drawing pitchforks, the burger was a bit underwhelming. It was a fast food style single patty, very thin, and though tasty enough when dressed (lettuce, tomato, mustard, ketchup), not really worth $7. I realize that for locals, nostalgia is a powerful lure (Greensboro's Beef-Burger had similar adherents), but if you didn't grow up with Health Camp's burgers, I'd have to believe that you could do better. To their credit, the tots were perfectly crisp and priced right. One final note: Union Grove has plenty of seating, but it can also get rather loud. There's an adjoining arcade, so expect kids running around. If the acoustics don't bother you, however, then the warehouse atmosphere can be fun.

Our servers were nice and polite, and dealt well with some rude customers while we were there. Very patient. I do have one important comment which is on the "robot waiter" that was working during our visit. The robot rolls around and delivers food, but I have to say that the robot kind of soured the experience. Everybody in our side of the restaurant while we were there was very displeased with the robot. One, I think people didn't like it because it clearly took a real human's job away. And I understand staffing shortfalls and everything, but I don't think anybody appreciated seeing the future of employment play out in real time at our table. The children in the room seemed either curious or outright scared of the robot, which rolls around and plays a music box version of "Surfer Girl" by the Beach Boys. Second, it wasn't particularly good at its job. You have to stand up from the table to get the food, and when it pulls up beside you, you almost don't have enough room to stand and get the tray yourself. And besides that, there was quite a bit of confusion about who's table it was serving, and this led to some peoples food getting delivered to tables almost all the way across the room instead of in the correct location. Robot waiter aside, I highly recommend the restaurant, it's a fun spot and I plan on visiting again when I am in Waco.
