First and last time time visiting. Terrible service experience from start to finish. We went for lunch and from the apathetic host to the server who didn't communicate, the experience was definitely lacking. One of our party received the wrong salmon meal, and also received two of the same side dish because the server didn't let her know she got a choice of two different sides. Another got a Cuban style sandwich that was spicy which was unexpected since it wasn't advertised as such. Other tables had similar issues with incorrect orders, so additional training is likely needed. Pro tip, if you order a meal and the menu says it comes with rolls, you don't actually get them. Evidently you have to ask for them. We didn't receive the rolls and when we asked our server she said since we didn't ask for them she didn't bring any. Apparently too many people were not eating them so they are upon request only. Would be a good idea to either call that out on the menu, or have the server mention it when taking the order. The dining room was dingy and dark, and our table was in the back of the room packed in next to another table so close it was like we were all one party. We could hear every detail of their conversation. Definitely will not go back. read more

Came here for lunch the other day while in town with family. It came across as a fairly typical diner ambiance. Service was super friendly and quick. I ordered the chicken fried steak, garlic mash potatoes, and broccoli salad. I was pleasantly surprised that each item was pretty good, and all for $12.50, in 2024. Haven't been there in a while, probably 6-8 months . We ordered chips and salsa and split and El Niño . Chips and salsa was better than the meal. From out of town. Slid through for lunch. What a nice find for a weary traveler. Had zero expectations - as that is often so disappointing these days. Place was wall to wall with people Monday lunch crowd. Must be doing SOMETHING right? Nice variety on the menu. Waitress recommended pork chop on the lunch menu- I was stuck in the meatloaf, hamburger, catfish, chicken, and almost every other lunch menu option. A slew of 2 sides to pick from. I selected broccoli rice casserole which was average- but good! Also picked cheesy grits. I won't pretend to say where they come in on the scale- as this Illinois boy knows nothing about grits- only that my tongue made this big swooshing noise pulling these things off my lips. The Pork Chop- that's something I DO know a lot about. I would personally like a little larger cut but this was perfectly fine- not overly breaded like so many for the purpose of hiding the nothingness inside. Crispy- cooked perfectly, seasoned wonderfully with a gravy on the side that kept intercepting my fork on the way up. Now - I fully enjoyed this meal and the kind employees- who all had plenty else to do- and then I got the bill... $8.93. Are. You. SERIOUS? Is this place full of liars? I paid the bill and slid out and no one chased me down. THAT is the REAL draw here I think. GREAT VALUE- what you get for your money. Yesterday was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant! We went up to the hostess and said we wanted a table on the patio, they said they were cleaning the table and we would have to wait. We walked back to the bar to order a drink and just standing there when Averi came up and said ( very rudely )we need to check in with the hostess we said we already had. My friend said you don't have to be so rude about it, Averi came back with "you don't talk to me like that" VERY RUDELY. We called the manager over ( tall dude with a beard) and he did absolutely nothing. Needless to say I will never step foot in a George's ever again!! read more

After recently hearing about this place, decided to check it out on our last visit to the Waco area. Didn't disappoint.
