Our service was fine and the food was okay, but the only reason we went was because we had a gift card. My husband and I were given lots of gifts cards when we had a stillborn daughter a few years ago. Slowly we have started going out again to use them. Well, the older gift card wasn't good anymore. They claimed it wasn't compatible with their new system. They gave us an email and phone number to call and said maybe we could get the money that way: However, it couldn't be used on the meal we just ate. I was upset at how this was handled and frankly, the place was not clean and it appeared run down. Perhaps they are not honoring gift cards because they can't afford to? I had to put down a child's place mat to keep my arms from sticking to the table. That was after we tried to clean the table with a wipe. I love driving through Kansas---mainly if you are going where there is an Old Chicago. Oklahoma used to have them. Wish they still did. My favorite thing on their menu is the Sicilian Pepperoni Rolls. In fact, that's why we were at this location in Wichita. Headed back to Oklahoma from Omaha, we made it a must to stop here and load up on them. Signature dough with pepperoni, fresh green onions and cheese. Baked and served with pizza sauce. That's from the menu. Can't say it any better. . . We ordered online from the car while we were driving into town. This app has a feature that tells you if you are ordering your food too early for a fresh, hot pickup. The service is friendly and efficient. We drove up, went inside, and our rolls were ready. Went to Old Chicago with some friends, it has been years since I've been there. They had a lot of new options and options for individual servings so we got a little bit of everything. We got the Detroit style pizza, the thin crust pizza, wings, and a calzone. I appreciated the options and our waiter was attentive and assisted us when one of the adult beverages that we got... Long Island iced tea tasted more like lemonade, he took it off the receipt and gave us a Blue Moon beer instead. The Server was great, she was attentive & very willing to correct any problems. I have been to this location lots of times but Sunday I was very disappointed with the food. I was with a party of five. I ordered fried pickles but they were extremely salty, burnt, greasy & not at all crisp, my bacon cheeseburger was dry, & the bun was partially burnt. Really bad Americanized version of Italian pizza. Crust is ok but what they put on top of it is a disaster. The tomato-paste topping is horrible, and beyond that it's all a blob of cheese and chunky meats, and everything else ordered (I ordered a number of vegetable additions from their menu including spinach and green onion) either don't show up all or show up in tiny, hard to find bits. I also ordered a Caesar salad and it was a total joke: a bit of wilted lettuce (not romaine) and crap "Caesar dressing" strewn across the top. My suggestion: fire everyone in your kitchen and start over. Your food sucks as bad as the shit music blaring over your speakers. Develop some more refined taste for both. read more

If you like deep dish Chicago style pizza this is your place. There are also a few added twist to the menu. He gave us a brief low down about the menu and left us to ponder while he got our drinks. Only two of us in the group could agree on which type of pizza we wanted. In fact the only agreement we all had was we wanted our pizza in a deep dish Chicago style. They also offered a ale crust and a thin crust which is known more on in St Louis. My daughter order the individual build your own, with bacon and pepperoni. Grandma ordered a veggie minus the artichoke hearts. While grandpa and I order the Hawaiian pizza. All of had absolutely no complaints. The girls each enjoyed their pizzas. As for us we loved the Hawaiian. Now I know pineapple on pizza is a huge controversy but if you keep an open mind this was a twisted Hawaiian pizza. The sauce was not your traditional marinara, it was a Thai sauce that was both sweet and savory. The toppings were a perfect blend of variety that had a party in my mouth. Now back to our waiter manners are always appreciated and he was definitely taught well by his parents and his customer service was spot on. Had the Chicago 7 calzone again and it was delicious. Waitress was friendly but never came to refill our drinks which was disappointing. First time at this location. We usually stick to the one in Old Town. My husband and three kids each enjoyed their meals and the kids enjoyed their sundae dessert. Portions are good sized and filled them up. I ordered to-go so my review is limited. I ordered the Chicago 7 personal pizza and 1 side of toasted ciabatta garlic bread. The personal pizza was tasty. I like the thick crust and the pizza was flavorful. I do think it is a bit pricey, at $14 for a personal size pizza. I think the side of toasted garlic bread should be complimentary with the order because the bread is quite small but it tastes good. read more

The place was packed, but our server was always available and helpful. She was very apologetic that our order took forever to get out to us. When it did, it was hot and had good flavor. Disappointed that my two children had to wait another 15-20 minutes for their food as there was a "mix up" in the kitchen. We were charged for a salad we ordered but never received. Once again our server was gracious to correct the check and speak with the manager to give us another 10% discount for our long wait for our food. I would recommend that someone from a district management level work with the employees on making sure the restrooms are cleaned properly. Also, Make sure the lighting above the tables is working. We had to use the flashlights on our cell phones to read the menus as the light bulb above our table was burned out and it was to dark to read. read more

We go here occasionally as a family. Usually our experience is great and tonight was no exception. Right after we ordered our drinks so old friends came by and we started chatting. Our waiter (Paco) delivered the drinks and allowed us to visit with our friends. The restaurant was busy so I know he just wanted to get us moving. He explained that after our friends left he didn't want to bother us. Paco took our food orders and read them back to insure they were correct. When our food arrived two of the 4 orders were wrong. Paco and who I assume was a manager corrected the problems right away. They recooked the orders and apologized profusely for the errors. It was not a big deal the kitchen added veggies to a Stromboli and forgot to add sausage to a calzone. Paco did a fantastic job all night. I ordered directly from their website but they actually send that service to Uber or DoorDash. 20 minutes past the 1 hr delivery time, there was still no delivery and the drivers kept cancelling. The manager was not willing to offer us anything in ways of a discount except for us to pick up the food ourselves and to negotiate the removal of the delivery charge or driver tip. This was ordered through their website and the manager seemed very inept in problem solving or taking care of the customer. I was left hungry and disappointed and will tell anyone I know to not order from this place. Huge disappointment this was especially since it was just one pizza and order of wings for $50. I have been going to this old Chicago on a regular basis for many years and my past two times visiting , I have experienced a significant amount of unprofessionalism. The first time we experienced a waiter that was extremely rude, walking away from our table while we were in the middle of talking and rolling eyes when we said we were finished ordering. We came tonight and there was someone behind us hitting their weed pin and we asked the front to move tables and a comment was made, "dude you ask them for a hit?" with a joking remark. I normally have never had a problem with this place, but I am very disappointed in the kind of service I have received the past two times visiting. It's a shame I have to give this place three stars, because there are a few exceptional servers currently working at this location. I've never really had to wait, and especially now with government mandates affecting regular business practices, service has still seemed rather personable. Even during the busier times of day/night I've been seated in a more than reasonable amount of time. That being said, I can't give five or even stars, because certain menu items (pizza in particular) flare up some of the worst acid reflux I have ever experienced. Not heartburn, but hours later I will wake up feeling like I drank a ghost pepper smoothie. I've eaten pizza, burgers, and "bar food" appetizers from all over town, chains, local, artisanal, mass produced freezer food, nothing creates that sweet sweet dragon breath quite like the OC. It's a shame, because the current pizza selection isn't even that great. All but the Thai Pie are pretty standard, pepperoni, double pepperoni, meat lover's, etc...so it isn't like I ate something worth the suffering. It's not like I sat down and ordered Italian Nachos as my meal. Somehow, that option doesn't cause suffering on par with Anakin Skywalker burning on the lava shores of Mustafar, unlike a few slices of pizza. Like I stated earlier, it's a shame this location is held back by the corporate approved menu and preparation practices, because there are some significantly above average employees here. So we stopped in here to grab some lunch. The place was dead but I assume that because it was only open for a little bit. We rolled in deep. Needed room for 12. Felt bad because, of course, a few didn't show up but we still had a good size group to start with. The waitress told us about the pizza buffet. We checked it out. The deal was pretty good if you are hungry and want to shovel in some pizza. Let's be honest, pizza is just a vessel to funnel down ranch dressing. All of us ordered drinks and proceeded to hang out. She would come back to refill our drinks from time to time (as long as they were non-alcoholic). I ordered the lunch special. It was a really good deal for me. It was for slices of a few pizzas to choose from and a salad. It was the right amount for me (I'm trying to watch my girlish figure). The group ordered a smattering of food. Some said it was great. Some said it was decent. Some was just okay. The reason why I am giving it three stars is because we were forced out. We had a long lunch and never made any mention of wanting to rush lunch. There was a few people having lunch beers. The rest were enjoying each other's company. We were never asked if we wanted more. Never asked if we were done or anything. Next thing we know, our checks were thrown down and she left. She came back to gather our checks and we were out the door. I know some many say that we should have told her that we were not done but when you are not wanted to stay, I don't want to hang out. We were not a loud group of people. We were not rude. I truly enjoy the pizza Old Chicago has to offer. My recent to go visit was a little bit disappointing. I placed my order over the phone and the server read everything back correctly with all the modifications as requested to the vege pizza. When I showed up my pizza had a few minutes left before it was completed. As I waited the server and I went to the register to pay and my order was much higher than I expected. I then looked at him and said I don't think you have the total correct and he then admitted he rand it up wrong in the computer, that should have instantly prompted me to know my pizza would come out wrong, but it didn't. My pizza arrived and the host was great about getting me a couple extra sauces on the side with my order. What I didn't realize when I got home is my pizza ended up being 3 vegetables instead of the 7 requested, the vege 7 is supposed to have a variety of 7 vegetables. Unfortunately, mine only came with 3 and because I was with my child having to carry her and the pizza back to the car to go home I didn't catch it. The one vegetable I was hoping to have more than any of the others was the artichoke, but on the entire pizza there was 1 artichoke on the entire pizza and it was the smallest piece I had ever seen, easily missed by anyone. This was a very disappointing to go order experience, but next time I place a to go order I will be sure to look it over in more detail so I don't go home un-satisfied. read more
