Sliced Bagel with Fresh Nova Lox & Cream Cheese and added red onion.
    Liv B.

I've ordered a few times in the past. My order was always correct and the sandwiches are delicious. Came most recently and ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches. Between the size of the bagels, the taste and the look of the sandwiches, it's always perfect. They give you a decent amount of lox and cream cheese and honestly, you can't beat their prices compared to Howard Beach Bagel. Not to mention the staff is always sooo nice and polite, especially the young girl at the counter towards the afternoon time. Place is clean and welcoming every time. Keep up the great work everyone! You deserve more stars IMHO!

It's supposed to be open right now as I'm sitting outside in my car. They are closed. What's the point of being open til 3 PM?? Bagel shops in Jackson Heights are way better.

    Bacon Pieces & Burt !!!

Definitely slipping over here ... Our BLT's were a disgusting.... all Burt & Chopped up bacon on both out sandwiches ... Globs of mayo, one piece of lettuce and one slice of tomato on both sandwiches.... Like What the heck ?!?!?! We been going here since they opened many years ago... the original Lil China man amd his son were awesome back in the day ... now the new regime just ain't cutting it ... The bagels are still good but everything else is slipping .... Definitely won't be ordering any sandwiches from them going forward... only bagels !! We will cook and make our own sandwiches at home ... Thanks, Greg D & family

We went in on Wednesday morning for bagel sandwiches and home fries. We got custom order sandwiches. I got lox, egg and cream cheese. The eggs could have used salt. Overall not bad. The home fries were not great. A lot of the pieces were undercooked and under seasoned. The staff were really nice though.

I been here I like da staff they there kind an helpful. Bagels are good an tasty. Coffee is good to.

    Bagels, bagels everywhere..

The bagels are excellent. Crispy crust, chewy dough inside.. What you should expect from a real NYC style bagel.. The lox cream cheese spread is good. I've also ordered egg sandwiches here that were prepped quickly, tasty, yet not greasy & oily.. The counter help has been very good as well, quick, polite.. to the employees removing the food prep gloves to work the cash register, and handle the cash.. So many establishments forget this, unfortunately..

Bagels are great tasting. Service with a smile. Nice environment to be in. I go there weekly for a dozen bagels and donuts.

I got an everything bagel with BEC and it was very good! Toasted and cooked perfectly. Wish the bagel was bigger but the prices were fair.

My favorite is the Jalapeño Cheddar with garlic bacon cream cheese. I recommend this only to those who can handle heat because there is a good amount of jalepenos baked in. For a sweet choice I love the Super Cinnamon bagel. It's encrusted with a sllightly crunchy Cinnamon sugar - sort of what you'd get if a churro and a bagel had a chewy baby. In addition to bagels there is a wide variety of sandwiches, wraps, salads and cookies. Catering and delivery available. Lots of special discounts and order ahead reduced pricing. Cash orders cost less than card payment and the difference in prices are clearly labeled. Lots of variety and coffee is fresh. Staff is helpful and friendly, there's a warm neighborhood type atmosphere here . You can tell they have a strong repeat customer base. Clean bathroom and store is wheelchair accessible. I get Too Good To Go Orders from this shop very often. It's a short window of time for pickup daily. ( Items are subject to change ) but it's usually a dozen bagels and the guys lete pick whichever bagels I want. It's great value and one of my top picks in this area for Too Good To Go.

The baker's dozen (13 bagels) is worth it because you can choose between regular and specialty bagels and it still comes out to $24. And if you get the dozen on a Wednesday, you can actually get 16 bagels! The bagels are big, and airy. The combinations and variety of options go on and on. Excited to be try a new one every time. They are pretty precise with the weight of spread you order, as well. We ordered the egg salad, tuna salad, and scallion cream cheese spread. The egg salad and tuna salad were mild in flavor, not heavy, tasted healthy. I've only come on weekends, so there is always a line out the door, but there are many staff members, so the line moves. If you are ordering a lot of bagels, be prepared for back-up options because although they are constantly making the bagels on the premise, popular options do run out and you may have to wait 15min for a new batch.

My everything bagel had a near-perfect balance between a crisp exterior and a satisfyingly chewy interior. That reputation means Utopia is likely to be busy no matter the day or time. I went around 11 am on a Wednesday, and there were about 10-15 people ahead of me. Between ordering and actually getting my bagel (and it was just a toasted bagel with cream cheese, not an egg sandwich or anything), it took about 15 minutes. That being said, are the bagels at Utopia worth making a special trip for? Not really, for me personally. While Utopia may technically be the best, there are enough bagel shops around Queens that come close enough that I don't see myself going out of my way to visit very often. Utopia has recently opened a few locations in Manhattan and Long Island City, so it's easier than ever to give them a try without coming out to Whitestone.

Maybe it's because they have 8 people doing 7 different things or maybe there's just too many people working the counter but every single time I come and order, it's never correct. It's always chaos. Between the person who takes the order to the people preparing your food to the people ringing up your food, anyone would understand why it's not working. 2nd time I came in, the young girl at the front with the attitude eyes decided to take the person standing behind me who just walked in the door first. Then had the audacity to roll her telling eyes when I questioned it, and then didn't even apologize! Their bagels are very tasty but sooo inconsistent in sizes. I got a full size bagel that was smaller than a mini bagel one time. The last time I was there, I ordered an onion bagel and pointed to the one I wanted because it was so huge and they pick a different one instead, it felt almost deliberate. Because again, the person taking the order is not preparing your food for you. So requests get ignored. I also asked for them to toast and butter the bagel and neither were done. 1 time I got a whole pack of bacon on my BLT, chopped up tomato's with extra mayo like I enjoy, the next time I get 2 slivers of bacon and a whole entire tomato. It's never consistent and nobody cares. I watched the same girl who has a bad attitude get berated by one of the owners because she doesn't know that there is a difference between half and half and milk and she's charging for the more expensive. Do better everyone! Also, you can't charge debit cards credit card surcharges. It's literally illegal in the state of NY. Hope it works out.
