A great variety of bagels and cream cheese flavors to choose from as well as sandwiches, soups, and salads and more. The even made me some fresh unsweetened iced tea! I ordered a toasted poppy seed with chive cream cheese, lox, and onion. Really the best bagel and lox I have had ever. My first experiences with Glendale Bagels was really weird. I discovered they had a no photography policy when I look a picture of the grill area where there was a large stack of egg cartons. Some guy quickly showed up and said photos are not allowed and ordered me to delete the photo I had just taken. Aside from their stupid policy, I liked the bagels and would go again. The other sandwich was decent. But who charges $1 extra for pickles? I hope another bagel store opens and puts them out of business soon. Or they are forced to lower the prices. First of all, not only does Glendale bagels have the best bagels anywhere, they also offer vegan options. Again, they have the best bagels. They're kind of crusty on the outside and gooey on the inside and just super delicious. My absolute favorite is the cinnamon raisin. They have always offered some tofu, vegetable cream cheese, and some plain vegan cream cheese I believe. The owner said he can also create any type of flavoring on your cream cheese if you order. Say you want chive he can do that for you. All the time I always ordered bagels, I had no idea. They actually have vegan options other than that. Just this past weekend I had a sausage, cheese, and egg on a roll, and it was lovely. The guy at the grill actually wiped down the section of the grill that he would be using for my vegan meal. He also wrapped the grill press in brand new tin foil so that it was clean as well. I was impressed with that. it looks like they use just egg flats for the egg. I'm not sure what sausage they use or what cheese but chances are it's probably Beyond and maybe Daiya. Either way super impressed that they have this. They also said they can make me a vegan breakfast burrito. They could add potatoes and possibly avocado along with the egg, sausage, and cheese. I am definitely going to try this next time. Super thrilled that I have more options at this wonderful business. The staff are always friendly. The food is always good and they have quite a following. I'm giving a higher review than I probably should because the food is good - and the people are nice. The system they use and the service is often gruelingly disorganized and slow, especially since it's not cheap. I don't care about prices; if you want quality, you'll pay more money. However, along with that should come quality service. Getting people in and out quickly. I've often seen 5 or 6 people behind the counter, and fewer customers and waited 25-30 minutes for an egg sandwich. I will go back; mainly because the sandwiches are astronomically better than the local Bodegas, and give probably about 1.5 stars higher than I wanted, on the hope that some constructive and honest criticism will help them moving forward. A better system needs to be in place. I think complacency is in order because they know their food Quality is better than most in the neighborhood. read more

My local friend took me here my last day in NY and it was the perfect last bite before I left. I got a toasted everything bagel with lox, scallion cream cheese, and tomatoes. The bagel was delicious and the portions were generous. I ate half of the sandwich at the deli and saved the other half for the plane ride, which my future self thanked my past self for. For one bagel, it was about $9. I had just gone to Russ & Daughters in the city a few days prior and paid about $20 for almost the exact same bagel sandwich and it was double the price! I couldn't believe it. I also got a black cold brew which hit the spot perfectly. If you're in the area, this is without a doubt the best place to get an authentic NY lox bagel sandwich. My husband comes here all the time. I finally got a chance to go with him this morning. He ordered his usual sausage, egg, and cheese, lettuce, tomato on a plain bagel. I ordered a special breakfast sandwich, The Richie (#8), which has pastrami, eggs, melted pepper jack cheese, and jalapeños on a wrap. However, apparently this was the wrong thing to order. Maybe no one gets this sandwich, and they forgot how to make it because at least four customers who ordered after us received their sandwiches (with eggs and sausage and things) before us. The timing was off because my sandwich came off fresh, while my husband's had cooled a bit. While waiting, I perused the drinks and saw coffee soda, which I thought was unique. They also had a TV with the news. There was some seating, but most people grabbed their sandwiches and left. Once we finally got our sandwiches, they were pretty good. Both sandwiches had a good amount of cheese, which makes me happy! My "Richie" balanced salt and spice with the jalapeños and pastrami, but the eggs were a little dry. The pastrami tasted like it was of good quality too and was easily the best past of my sandwich. My husband's sandwich was good "as always." His eggs were more light and fluffy. The bagel was quite large, which I didn't like, but my husband found it filling. Overall, I would come here again. The food tasted great, and I'd like to see if the service is consistent. Other than that you aren't looking at much unless you like getting your order mixed up constantly( I got a plain bagel with cream cheese mixed up somehow) and like being charge different prices, wouldn't recommend . One instance I had ordered 2 bagels (one plain, one everything) with cream cheese. That's it. I received the right types of bagels but with some unknown cream cheese on the inside. Fast forward a month or two I was picking up bagels before school, and Monday I ended up paying $2.80 or something around that, Tuesday im paying over $4. Didn't argue because im not trying to bash anyone but as someone who has been going there even before they remodeled the place, have to stop going because there is just so much wrong with the spot. How I miss NY! We moved to Toronto, Canada back in November. Paid a visit to Glendale while in NY for the weekend. Something we miss are BAGELS and since our old home was only one block away from Glendale Bagels. We decided to come on back all the way from Long Island. They get really busy for the morning rush, so the wait could be up to 10-15 minutes for a sandwich from the grill, but I wouldn't consider that a negative; I feel it only attributes to how good they are. Scallion cream cheese with bacon is my go to, here I got a thin layer of cream cheese, and only in one side, leaving the 2nd side dry, & what looks like to be one piece of bacon. Once I got back to NY I went to find bagels. Luckily this place was on Uber Eats. They delivered a gigantic bagel which was amazing and also gave their Con Ed sandwich a try which was also amazing. This has become my favorite spot. read more
