I have been going to Old Crow since forever. They even cater the local school functions. It is amazing old home bar-b-q. They have a pretty basic menu, slow cooked ribs, smoked turkey, ham, home made bbq sauce and always excellent fresh desserts. The actual restaurant looks like a little smoke house on the side of the road with a dirt parking lot. The right side is the take out window and the left is the actual restaurant. Disregard any of the low ratings of this place. Those are difficult people who have no taste and no friends and have no appreciation for different styles of dining experience. **A place is to be measured by what it is within its context.** I have had bbq in Austin and Dallas and Houston. This isn't that. This is casual southern bbq and it is VERYYYY good at being casual southern bbq! It has a hole in the wall vibe, which should never be considered a negative. Staff was excellent and friendly. Less than 10 bucks for a brisket sandwich and two sides? Yes, please. Brisket was moist. We also had some turkey and it was great. Sweet tea was done right. My family and I have been going to this place for years. I know the family and they couldn't be better folks. Small town homegrown people that run an honest business and have many of the same employees for as long as I can remember almost twenty years at least! That is saying something these days. The food is absolutely good. I would recommend the turkey sandwich on Texas toast. I offered the original owner a million dollars for the baked bean recipe. I was 15 and full of ambition wasn't I! If you're up this way or looking for a night out somewhere new, you won't be disappointed. Also, some of the other 4 star reviews sounded really great with zero complaints, so I don't understand why they wouldn't give the whole 5 stars? read more

I always look for a BBQ place when out of town and found this place while traveling. The brisket sandwich was great and the 5 bean baked beans were good but very different. The day I was there they tasted more like chili than BBQ Beans. There were lots of locals here when I arrived at a late lunch so it must be popular to be that bus that late. read more

Not exactly sure what I was eating. It was ok, only edible. Worst mac and cheese I've ever had. Maybe there are better things on the menu than what I was eating. When the coleslaw is a fail then maybe you should just give up. For the most part it was kinda like eating mediocre food from your grandma who's been stuck in a rut for years. We made it to Old Crow for the first time for lunch recently. Ordered were the Large Pork Sandwich Plate with Cole Slaw and Fries, and 1/4 Chicken White Meat with Toast. All perfectly cooked and with a nice subtle smoke flavor. The Pork was sliced with no sauce added. Sometimes at other BBQ joints slicing the Pork leaves it dry, not here. It was perfect. And not having the sauce applied is the way it should be. Let the customer put it on themselves. The Slaw was homemade and very tasty and with their selection of BBQ sauces fit nicely on the Sandwich. The Bun, it self, was fresh and large. The Chicken was perfectly moist with again a very subtle but noticeable smoke flavor. Slow smoking Chicken Breast can dry it out, but this was just right. The Garlic Toast that was served with the meal was great. Maybe a little thing, but in this case the Toast does deserve special mention. All menu items are prepared to order and in the case of the Toast it was obviously toasted for our order. It was hot, crisp and perfectly buttered with garlic seasoning. It was outstanding. Old Crow is a small, quaint restaurant that serves authentic home-style BBQ. Service is great and very friendly. The place is very clean and warm. Nice place in the country. Old Crow BBQ is highly recommended. We will return. read more

Been going to this place for years. My kids and I love coming here for turkey sandwiches and french fries. Also delicious sweet tea. We enjoy the bbq sauce and for dessert; they have a yummy red velvet cake. It is a little bit of a drive out of town plus outside appearance, place could use a bit of a touch up. Have been eating here for almost 4 years now. The food here is quite tasty and consistent! The sides are small, but other than that my family enjoys eating here. The staff are so friendly and the food comes out hot with a minimal wait time. The plate specials are a good deal , my favorite is the fried pork chops ... yum yum! not my favorite bbq, but it's very good. pork is lean, not gobs of fat like some places. biggest complaint - baked potatoes on any day other than Wednesday seem like they're 'day old.' maybe i'm the only person in the world who can taste a nuked potato, but it's a pet peeve. best desserts around, and you get a huge slice. dreamsicle cake and lemon pound cake are my favs. friendly staff, quick service. walk-up window if you need something to take home. read more
