Ghosted us completely. We had several trees in our yard that ODTC agreed to take down for us. One was a hazard and danger to others as it had begun to show signs of splitting in half next to a road in a residential neighborhood. The planning process between quotes and getting on the schedule took longer than was originally discussed (that's fine, I get it). When I asked for a quote/contract with the price and a COI, I was told it wouldn't be an issue, but never received either. We still communicated up to the day before the work was to be done. My wife and I both took the day off from work that day to be on the property when the job was being performed. Morning of, they didn't show, when I called and texted asking if we were still on for the day, the response I received was vague, that they had an equipment issue, but no word on whether the job was still going to be able to done, or if it needed to be rescheduled. I never heard from them again, that day or after. This was after repeated attempts to get into contact with them that day and the week after (calling and text). Approximately a week and a half after we were ghosted, a major portion of the tree did split and fell into our neighborhood across a road (no one hurt thankfully). Thanks Old Dominion Tree Company. I don't care about wasting my time, but you genuinely put others at risk of injury or worse. Enjoy your bad karma. read more

I live on Long Island, New York, and work as a Paramedic in New York City. The crew from Old Dominion Tree Services came up to help us after the devastation from hurricane Sandy. Mine was the first house they came to. I had a large pine tree fall on top of my car, as well as a huge oak tree fall from my neighbor's yard into mine, crushing my shed. Jeremiah and his crew got to work right away, even though they had just driven up from the Richmond area. They were very respectful of me, my property, and my neighbor's property as well. Straight up fantastic tree service. Three others walked away saying the tree was too dangerous. Jeremiah had a plan A and B and an 80' boom to reach it. Everyone was very friendly, professional. Came when they said they would, got set up and right on it and in less than a day had a 50 foot 75 yr old tree next to my house down and completely cleared away. Have hundreds of big old trees. Old Dominion Tree Company was the blessing we never expected. We recently moved into the Midlothian area where having a lot of trees is an understatement. The previous owner of our new home never felt it was never necessary to take care of all the dead trees & branches that could cause serious harm to our family and pets. We wanted a few trees taken down from our front yard since they were leaning toward the house. Hurricane season is coming, and we had some close calls last year, and the oak trees were way too big for me to handle myself, especially since they were leaning. We found Old Dominion Tree Company through a friend's referral. Not only is the main guy a certified arborist, but he's a genuinely nice guy. But the thing I like best is the cleanup job. Several other folks in our neighborhood have had tree work done, and every last one of them was left with huge piles of mulch, debris, branches, etc. Even if the crew took the "logs", it still looked a mess. These guys cleaned up everything, and left the yard presentable, which we really appreciated. We liked them alot. Obviously it was very loud...I was thinking they would haul away the trees but they brought in a grinder on the spot...one of those trucks that shredded the trees.
