A truly beloved local eatery for some seriously delicious food. We came on a Thursday, and there was one waitress and a cook, and they handled all the orders with efficiency and grace. We ordered a stack of blueberry pancakes and another stack of chocolate chip pancakes. They are served with butter on the side and pure maple syrup. Also ordered was a side of sausage links. Is your mouth watering yet, because mine is watering as I'm writing my review. You can also order beverages such as coffee (free refills), and they even have fresh juice (regular or large). They serve more than just breakfast items. They also have sandwiches, wraps, and other wonderful lunch options The only caveat is that they only take cash. I didn't realize that, but I was thankful we happened to have cash on us. Great service and the sayings on the wall, as well as the photos, give it a warm and fun feeling as I perused at them. We love Sissy's! We moved to the area last year and have been here a few times for breakfast. The eggs benedict are awesome. Seriously one of the best I've had. The french toast is good as well. Home fries have been a bit undercooked and fruit side dish was a bit skimpy but it's a no frills, fairly cheap type of place. The ladies that work there are very sweet and make you feel welcomed. We will keep stopping by on the weekends! read more

Very pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this place is. Tucked away not far from the ferry. An eatery with a view of the water. We were a family of 14 with last minute plans and called to see if they can help us get a table for breakfast. Yes they could accommodate us on this beautiful Sunday. Table was set and ready waiting for us and we had a fabulous view of the water. The service was great with our large gang. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered breakfast and lunch dishes. You can be a healthy eater here or have fun and say calories don't count on Sunday. Either way your meal will be great. My go to beverage is always unsweetened ice tea, which they served in large mason jars. Definitely worth the trip to the harbor. It was such a nice day eating outside. They have an inside dinning area and a bar. Public parking is available. read more

This is such a cute little local diner type place. The food is classic but prepared quickly and well and the staff are very polite. Prices are almost ridiculously inexpensive especially given inflation costs. We will be back when looking for a fast simple breakfast. read more

Thanks to Yelp and all the other wonderful reviews of this place I was able to find another great place. I had work in the area and when finished my husband wanted to get something to eat. It was noontime and he wanted lunch when I still wanted breakfast. So I searched a good brunch spot and found Sissy's! Both breakfast and big lunch menu options at the same time. I had the crab cake eggs Benedict and my husband had a burger. My eggs were cooked perfect and it was the first time I tried a crab cake Benedict and it was excellent. My husband's burger was cooked perfectly and the fries nice and crispy. Staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. My favorite thing was all the signs on the walls with different sayings. It was decorated beautifully with these signs and also gave my husband and I something to read and talk about while we waited for our meal. It was a diner feel but cozy filled with locals and friendly staff. Always looking to try places new just like here and they did not disappoint! read more

The first thing I noticed when I walked into Sissy's Place was a sign in the doorway that said "Be the kind of person you want to meet today." It was at the moment, I knew I was in the right place. Sissy's Place is old fashion American comfort food. They serve breakfast and lunch, so we are talking eggs any style, omelettes stuffed with whatever you like, tasty hot sausage, savory ham, breakfast sandwiches with pork roll and cheese, fluffy waffles and french toast..with plenty of maple syrup, powdered sugar, ice cream, fruit topping to drizzle on dump on top! Side items include buttered rolls, corn bread, muffins, hash browns, home fries, toast, and even cereal. Yes, cereal. If you are anything like me, sometimes all you want is a bowl of raison brain and a cup of coffee, and you are good to go! Or, maybe a newspaper (yes I still read them haha), but other then that, I'm set! The lunch menu is equally fast, from club sandwiches, deli sandwiches, wraps, etc. These sandwiches aren't just any sandwiches, they are LOADED! I mean if you want a tuna melt, you will get a tuna melt and then some! It's a spot where if you are on a diet and want to splurge, SPLURGE! haha! My favorite thing to order for brunch is always an omelette. It gives me the illusion that I'm eating healthy. Earlier today, when I was at Sissy's, I had customized my own omelette with sausage, ham, broccoli, and mozzarella cheese. It was excellent. I had a size of rye toast with butter and home fries, which I took home in a box for my Dad. :) I also ordered coffee, of course, and it was excellent. Fresh, hot, and the waitress and I had some sort of connection, because she knew when it was time for a refill! I cannot stand cold coffee! If you have read any of my reviews before, coffee must be hot at all times! Sissy's Place, they know what's up. :) That brings me to the service and atmosphere of Sissy's Place. I think the name is fitting, because just sitting at your booth or table, sipping on your coffee, eating your eggs, perhaps a book at your side, you just feel like you know Sissy. Like, she's your sister, or your best friend, and you just instinctively make yourself at home. You can tell when you enter Sissy's that the place is full of regulars. Yet, you do not feel out of place or odd. The waitresses greet you with a smile, are attentive, and pleasant. I felt as though I could just whip out my lap top and a bunch of books in my trunk and work there for hours, and my coffee cup would be refilled over and over. The wall art is something special. Inspiring, funny, and witty quotes adorn the walls, and made me smile. One in particular said, "when in doubt, look up..." I must admit, I wasn't in the best mood when I walked into sissy, apart from being HANGRY hahah, but the little reminders all over the walls, another " to never ever give up," just made me smile. Overall, Sissy's place is no frills. It's nothing fancy...but food doesn't need to be fancy. Nor does service or atmosphere. It needs to be QUALITY. I want yummy food that will fill my belly, service that makes me feel at home, and an atmosphere where I can dine alone and feel comfortable, or bring a friend and have a heart to heart chat. Sissy's Place is what it is. It doesn't pretend to be something it's not. It's a cozy spot, tucked away in Middletown...waiting to serve you some old fashion American breakfast and lunch, with a hot cup of joe and friendly service to match. I called Sissy's on the phone to place a breakfast order. No problem. I picked up my breakfast order about 20 mins later, got the bill and gave them my credit card. I was then told, CASH ONLY. At no point when I called to place my order, was I told CASH ONLY. The waitress directed me to the ATM in the restaurant (which fyi the restaurant receives a percentage of every withdrawal). On top of that I had to pay a $3.00 to use the ATM. This is what I refer to as a first rate "rip-off". The food was fine, but my appetite was ruined. Won't be going back! read more

Went to Sissy's Place this morning with my husband to try a cute local neighborhood establishment for breakfast. Adorable atmosphere, nautical, kitschy, perhaps 15 total for tables/booths for seating. This is a CASH ONLY business, however, there is an ATM on-site. I ordered the crab cakes benedict, my husband ordered the 2 2 2 special, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 meat, (sausage or bacon.). Coffee good and hot, a little surprised to see little creamer pods instead of porcelain or stainless creamers. My crab benedict okay, crab cake could have been cooked a little longer as it was a bit mushy, overall, okay. The dish arrived plated with cubed potatoes, which I would have rather have not been on the plate. The potatoes were absolutely horrid, no seasoning, very little if any onion, and nothing else. To be frank, a baked potato would have been enjoyed better. I mentioned to the waitress that the potatoes left a lot to be desired, she stated many folks don't like onion or peppers. I said oh, could I have ordered hash browns or tater tots, she said that they do not serve them, perhaps they could consider it as an option, just a hint.... My husband's breakfast, the 222, was hot and okay, but again most disappointing is that we were served little pods of syrup and little pods of butter. I did notice on the other tables, syrup in proper glass dispensers....hmmmm, too bad we were not given pourable syrup. The food was okay, not famously memorable. Simply said, Sissy's is a nice place, a sign in the window reads "eat like the locals do." I am a local, however, my opinion is because of the cute atmosphere and friendly service, Sissy's could be remarkable with just a few little tweaks. read more

Sissy's is one of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots in the area! I've been coming here since I was a kid and now I take my little brothers with me almost every weekend when I'm home from college. Everyone who works here is so friendly and accommodating. They're also so kind to my brother with special needs - unfortunately not something you get at every restaurant! Came w fresh fruit but the good fruits like banana and pineapple not just melon which other restaurant tend to do bc it's cheaper. First time there and I had a terrible experience. First off they make you seat yourself which on this particular busy day wasn't ridiculous, people were racing in front of eachother. It took us over 25 min just to sit. Waitress took our drink orders and didn't come back for another 20/25 minutes for our order. The food was the worst part of it all. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, the chicken was fake pre cooked store bought chicken, they put no hot sauce or bleu cheese and it tasted just awful. My brothers veggie omelet had ham, his eggs and potatoes were unseasoned just no flavor at all, same with my my nieces eggs and mothers. read more

My sisters and I stopped by this place for lunch after a trip to a nearby day spa. It's got this casual diner feel and immediately upon walking in, you are greeted with little signs all over the walls. The sarcasm in be text is pretty funny as you read through them. I ordered a pastrami and Swiss sandwich and the table ordered the spicy fries. The sandwich was pretty big and tasty and was definitely fit for sharing. The spicy fries were crispy but I couldn't catch the spicy part of it. The service is filled with friendly smiles and visits for coffee refills.
