Salads and Rice Paper Wraps Menu
    Jeremy P.

A great gem right off the Seastreek Ferry Terminal at Highlands. Came to Highlands for the Sandbox at Seastreak Beach, but they didn't have any coffee so we found this place a 5-10 minute walk away and were really surprised at how good it was. They are a cafe and restaurant. We only experienced the cafe, but the staff at the cafe are all really nice and helpful. They have really good coffee and make a variety of pastries, cookies, chips and dips in house. They also have juices and smoothies. We ended up coming back here to grab lunch to eat at the Sandbox instead because their food seemed more fresh and healthy. We had the rice paper wraps with the Thai spiced flank steak and coconut curry chicken. The rice paper was cooked correctly with a nice texture. The cobb salad was standard, but a nice portion. To note, don't miss the sandwich menu that is next to to entrance because we only noticed it when we were leaving the second time. I would definitely make a stop here again when I'm in the area. I would want to try their dinner and hopefully attend one of their live music or drag bingo events.

Went there today for the first time on the hottest day of the year so far. Outside was a no go but would have loved to stay out there. It's got a nice little pond and water fall. I'm not sure if there was AC or not but they were doing their best. The person at the front was so kind. They had lil lemon bite samples. I got an avo toast and they didn't skimp on the avo or the dressings. There were lil cheese crunchies on it. My dirty chai was yummy too. Good experience would love to go on a day that isn't as hot and hang outside.

I went here this afternoon for a lunch. It has outside seating which is dog friendly. And there's a very nice atmosphere. The quality of food is excellent. I had a grilled chicken club sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. It's a pretty big sandwich so next time I'll probably split it. I highly recommend trying this place out. It also seems to have inside seating for the colder months. I very rarely give five stars unless it's deserved so go eat here and let me know what you think.

Crab cake (yes, all crabmeat!) and grilled veggies.

They have chairs that many people were taking and sitting on in the water. Lots of picnic tables and areas to sit at. The water is really calm. It's a bay. So you can walk pretty far out and won't be knocked over by any waves. People were playing catch and just having a great time playing in the calm and cool water. It was fun. It wasn't a bad drive from New York so I'd recommend driving if you got the time.

It was early Sunday night and the bar was full but the dining area wasn't so we stayed in the bar. Service was excellent, the bartender came around and made sure we were comfortable, handed us menus and brought water. She told us the specials and shortly after our server came by. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of seafood on the menu. My picky girlfriend would have enjoyed some flounder or scallops but they only had a seared salmon and blacked shrimp. The Mrs. Got a burger and it was adequate, nothing to write home about. I got the chicken parm and it was ample and terrific. The tomato sauce was stellar! Sadly I wanted the scallops with risotto. This place has potential, the service is great, the atmosphere is fantastic, plus I know the chef has the chops from visiting his last place, the red store in Navasink. We'll be back but I'll be sure to check for seafood offerings before I go.

We ordered the fish tacos, birria tacos, and kettle-style potato chips--and every plate came out looking as good as it tasted. The fish tacos were beautifully assembled, piled high with crisp, fresh slaw that added the perfect crunch to the tender, flaky fish underneath. Light, clean, and balanced. The birria tacos were the star of the table. Rich, deeply seasoned meat tucked into perfectly griddled shells, served with a savory dipping broth that takes each bite to another level. Messy in the best way possible--and completely worth it. Even the kettle-style potato chips stood out. Thick-cut, golden, and topped with just the right amount of flavor to make them more than just a side--they held their own next to the tacos. It's the kind of place where you can tell care is put into both the food and the experience.
