My son and l received the BEST of professional advice when we went there on Saturday ( yesterday). Concerns about comparative features between guns, laws about "carry" were easily answered. Although, we were not aware that Datilio's is closed at noon on Saturdays, all required paperwork was handled and necessary phone calls made in a professional and timely manner. All the shelves were stocked with an unbelievable variety of fishing tackle , archery paraphernalia, etc. for avid sportsmen of all types. We were AMAZED at the ease with which our questions and concerns were handled by all the gentlemen working at Datilio's . They were only too happy to help novices and experts who walked through the doors ! Inadvertently, we held up two employees 20 -25 minutes past closing time, but were treated with courtesy and respect the entire time. We had no idea that we had come so late, and had we known, we would have come to Datilio's much earlier ! We are so fortunate to have Datilio's Gun and Tackle Shop in our community. As I browsed the mens wear, my 9-year old Black daughter remained exceptionally well-behaved and within my eyesight. Then I heard a Fjallraven Burlington staff member ask my daughter if she were "by herself." So I walked away from browsing out into the open and asked the staff member "Sav (?)" if I could help with anything. The staff member said, "This is not a children's store. You need to keep your kid with you." The Fjallraven Burlington's staff member traumatized my daughter. No one should be treated like this. Unacceptable.

I had been thinking about buying a Fjallraven Kanken backpack (you know the one, the adorable square backpack that looks like a little kid's bag) for awhile so it was neat to see them in person and all the different colors. They also have lots of outdoor gear, other backpacks, apparel, and a sale area in the lower level. We stopped in twice during our long weekend in Burlington and the employees were really helpful and friendly, offering to show us any color of bag we could imagine and explaining some of the features of some of the products. The store is large and fully stocked with anything you need to be a cool Swedish hipster in nature! The products they sell are pretty pricey but the backpack we got is guaranteed for life and is water-resistant due to the beeswax coating. I really enjoyed checking out this shop and was impressed by the knowledge and friendliness of the staff.

Instead of offering helpful advice or even basic courtesy, they were dismissive and rude, as if I were wasting their time. But that's not all--this shop is gouging prices to an absurd degree. I understand small businesses have to mark things up, but the prices here are blatantly exploitative. Some items are being sold at double their market value, and their singles are so overpriced it's laughable. They clearly prey on people who don't know better, which is disgusting in a community that's supposed to be about passion and inclusivity. If you're looking for a friendly, fair shop to support, go literally anywhere else. This place doesn't deserve your time, money, or energy.

As expected the prices were on the higher end, as it's Patagonia. But the quality totally makes up for the price. The staff assisted us with fitting rooms, size queries and checkout process. I am still riding 2 Marinoni bikes I bought in 1987 and 88 and I consistently race on them and have won MI State Masters Track Championships for 2011 and 2012 on my Marinoni Pista they fitted and had made for me 1988. They provided track components and wool bike clothing when such things were not popular or to be seen in any other shops. Dave always looked out for me and provided Italian products that suited my taste and budget. The Winooski Bicycle Shop was also the hub to serious racers. Dave and Gene were real mentors and inspired me with their vast cycling and racing experience. They saw me on my way to the Montreal Olympic Velodrome for the first time and evan attended my races. My daughter picked a pair of sparkly blue leather boots for herders. The prices were little higher as expected for quality leather items. The associates were very friendly.
