The mountaineering socks were priced at a premium for $29 for one pair, but they have a lifetime guarantee and I haven't regretted buying them. I've used them outside the hike numerous times during the blustery Buffalo weather where I'm from. I also bought a pair of mittens and man the mittens here were very expensive! The cheapest pair I could find was $89, but they are indeed very warm and hopefully will last me for a very long time with many outdoor winter adventures to be had in said mittens. All in all, the staff at the store was great and honest and didn't try to upsell us on anything we may not need. My first interaction with Roberts Sport Center was about four years ago, That time, I need two front times on my Spyder. Their price was 1/2 of the price from the local dealer. I learned that was because Robert's had better alignment equipment. When I left the dealership that day, it felt like it was a new bike and that started a long term relationship. Since than, each year, I drop off my Spyder at Roberts at the start of the riding season so that they can fix anything wrong so that I don't worry about it for that year. I basically ask them to fix anything they find as well as change the oil and check alignment. You might think that leaves the option for an unscrupulous dealer to take advantage. However, Robert's is an honest dealer and each year, I've been pleasantly surprised by how little the process costs. I heartily recommend Rober's Sport Center for any service or product that they provide. Think about it, I drive over and back twice every year to drop it off and again to pick it back up. That's eight hours of driving when I have an option just seven miles away. And I won't change a thing. Robert's is great. Even worse is the attitude of the people they hire. I went into the store today and all three store employees I encountered were obviously never trained in customer service. The young cashier had her head buried in her cell phone from the moment I entered the store to 15 minutes later when I returned to her register and even then I had to wake her up with a question. She could not care less to assist me just mumbled something incoherent. I had to put down a couple of things I had and just leave because honestly it's a complete turn off to shop at a store where the employees are so inept. There was no one shopping today and it is understandable. My message to Runnings is just close the doors you will never compete with Lowe's next door and TSC less than a mile away. So disappointing to see a store that started strong end up being so poorly managed and staffed.
