Oh my gosh, this place is amazing! Just barely off the highway and a joy to behold. I asked to have my meatball sandwich made on their garlic cheese bread with added pepperoncinis! It was spectacular. I had a feeling it was going to be so delicious that I would be disappointed if I only ordered the half sandwich. So I got the WHOLE! However, I'm not a big eater so I told them to put 2/3 wrapped to go and serve me 1/3 to eat now. I am stuffed. I will get two more meals off that sandwich which makes it a bargain. (:-) I suggested they offer all the sandwiches made on the garlic cheese bread. Positively A TASTE SENSATION! They said they are happy to do custom orders, so let YOUR taste buds run wild here and have it YOUR way! I'm sorry, I forgot the manager's name already, LoL! He is super nice. Just passing through and pizza sounded great, as usual. We ordered a med deep dish, double pep and Allie knocked it out of the park. Our pizza was excellent. I sampled the crust fist and it was crisp and tasty. Sauce was a bit spicy, but not too much. The dining area was good, except the bathroom was right in the middle of it. They have outside tables for your four-legged buddies. read more

Totally impressed with this establishment. We had our ourselves one of the calzones, it was packed to the hilt. We asked if we could change some of their normal ingredients and they were more than happy to oblige. I will be looking for excuses to drive through Hawthorne just so we can dine here again. First of all service is 10 out of 10, the employees are so patient and kind. Second of all the food came out fast and it was absolutely delicious, and lastly a very clean environment with plenty of sports TVs around the seating area. They have a bar and awesome sandwiches. I haven't had the pizza yet, but I'm pretty sure it's fire. I came with my dad and my boyfriend on Monday and safe to say we all finished our sandwiches. Pizza partyeeee! Hubby and I had a great lunch out with some friends from work. Everything was really delicious and fresh I appreciated the vegetarian and gluten free option. The garlic cheese bread was fire! The mango habanero pizza no chicken it was really good next time I'll add jalapeños. Friends had artichokes pizza, calzone, and not sure what the pepperoni pizza all had but it was definitely a meat lovers dream. The zucchini strips were also fire. Stopped in for dinner driving from Death Valley to Reno and really enjoyed it! Cute, pizza theming with Nevada vibes (obviously). The lady that was working that night was super nice and helpful. She even remade my pizza for me when it was a little too crispy, and the redo was delicious! We had their variation on a Hawaiian which had a yummy garlic sauce on it that went perfectly with the pineapple. We also had a salad with buffalo chicken on it, which is the way to go! That salad was nice and big, fresh with plenty of blue cheese dressing and lots of large chicken chunks. There is honestly not much when you're driving through Nevada but this place was a special gem that I would def recommend/stop again at headed either direction. Pizza was very good and crispy crust. Nice toppings they didn't chintz on. Could've used a bit more pizza sauce but the nice toppings zero out that complaint. Pretty sketch town but if you just go for pizza and bev it's fine and probably the only place I'd go back to if I had to pass through Hawthorne and was hungry. Atmosphere is pretty much null and void but the people that work there are nice. Just accurate. 4 stars cuz there's nothing else here unless you want McDonald's. Traveling from Reno to Las Vegas and you are hungry this is a good place to stop for good pizza and TV entertainment while waiting for your pizza to be prepared. We walked in and it smelled really good, we felt assured that we were in the right place. Ordered a large pizza half cheese and half veggie, no problem the lady is very happy to help us. We placed our order and sat down to watch "The Deadliest Catch" which helped the time go by fast. Pizza was ready and boy was it good, served hot and cheesy. There is a sign warning customers that service would not be fast, but our pizzas came out pretty quick. We had just enough time to find our seats, use restrooms and stretch our legs a bit. Arrived a few minutes before it was ready and happily exchanged conversation with a local sitting at a table that is the shape of NV and is a giant map of all the mountain ranges in Nevada. They had me with the map, hours of entertainment for me lol. The staff was friendly, full of smiles and appeared to be working hard and as quick as they could. Had we not been road tripping through trying to out run the storm, I think dining in and having a draft beer would be nice. The calzone was big, perfect for splitting. I really enjoyed the amount of sauce and it's nice zest. The dough was cooked to perfection. While the teeth sink in a nice crisp sound invites the comment from my partner "that sounds like a perfect bite". Yet the soft dough twisted around the edges complimented the crispy middle. I have been a Hawthorne resident since 1981 and over the years never had such lousy food or service until now. Ordered 2 pizzas, crust was like charred cardboard, only the toppings were edible. Ordered 2 full size sandwiches as well, meatball sub w/ provolone, no cheese was on it. Hot roast beef sub with everything plus jalapenos, when i got home, 65 miles away, roast beef and bread, that's it! The total was approx $97.00 including standard tip. I don't understand how this place has any good reviews at all. This was quite literally the worst pizza we've ever had. The crust looked and tasted hard and stale and was totally inedible. No difference between the pizza and the cardboard box it came in. We had a long day of traveling and this was the only option close by so we took a chance. Huge mistake. When we called to address the issue they said they would have the manager call back. They called back and said we would get a 10% discount on our next order even though we stated multiple times we're traveling and just passing through here. How does that make sense? I've been to Old Nevada Pizza more than any other pizza place in my life, and I can confidently say it is the worst out of them all. It would be one thing if the food wasn't mediocre, but the mix of completely unprofessional staff and the rock hard dough makes this establishment fall flat on every front. The shouting and threats made by workers kills every chance this place has at being enjoyable at all. Came here for a work meeting, not expecting much. I was here to work, Not eat....BUT! I was pleasantly surprised. First good sign was the savory aroma - It smells amazing in here. Second good sign was the Rockstar behind the counter, keeping it all running by herself (at least the day we went in) she was super polite, and kept apologizing for the delay...but good things come to those who wait, and the wait was well worth it! I also really dug the 90s tunes playing. Third good sign was the small but pizza parlor pertinent menu on a single sheet that was handed to me. You know when a restaurant has too many options, none of them very good? Not this place! They know what works, and you can tell when you take a bite. I chose a calzone, which was $11...Which was not bad at all for the huge size of these things! I couldn't eat it all in one sitting, lest I become uncomfortably full. It tasted amazing, btw. Well here's the deal, we don't live in Hawthorne but when we pass thru we have come to find Old Nevada Pizza as the best in Hawthorne. If you like a crispy crust pizza that is smothered in the toppings of your choice you want to make sure you stop.
