Stayed here during a trip to go to Sacramento and it was a great experience. We happened to come on a new moon and it was pretty much my first time seeing the Milky Way. I really enjoyed the trip here from Los Angeles and the staff was very friendly too. The food was super tasty and I don't remember the name of it but it was a chicken pasta dish that was unique. The hotel rooms and the restaurants feel really homey and they give us fish food to feed the aquaculture set up they have.

Lasagne and a "small" order Not very pretty but delicious

There's not a lot of restaurants in the area that are open much past 8 pm We came in right at closing time They seemed a bit annoyed but were nice and accommodated us I had the lasagne which was really good Bottled beer The lasagne came with tater tots which I thought strange The full order comes with salad and must be giant because the half order was really big I left full and happy

Turkey club and baked tater tot's.

Do not sleep on this little place. Get a spot outside in the shade and enjoy your meal. Even in the heat, the breeze and shade kept everything so comfortable, I could have stayed for hours. Incredible service, and super generous serving sizes. The price reflects quality and quantity of your meals. You will not leave hungry. Super convenient parking and like I said. DO NOT PASS THIS PLACE UP!!!

We ate dinner at the restaurant the night we checked in and had breakfast the morning we checked out. The service was great both times we ate here. They have lovely decor in the restaurant and old style photos that were taken on site over the years. It has such charm to this place. If you have reservations, check in takes place inside the restaurant. They had alot of pasta options for dinner and most everyone got pasta in our group. We had mosticholi, chicken marsala, eggplant parm, lasagna, we also had a pizza, pulled pork sandwich and a salmon Ceasars salad. They bbq pulled pork was made with their house made whiskey bbq sauce that was delicious. Their marinara is also made in house. All of the food was so good. For breakfast we had pancakes, breakfast burritos, scrambled eggs and sausage, fruit and an omelet; all come with their country potatoes which were cooked to perfection, you can tell they put love in their food. We loved the atmosphere here and everyone was so kind and friendly.

Salad with watery blue cheese dressing. But it was still good.

After a long day of fishing, the family needed to eat something close by before heading back to Mammoth. So I turned to Yelp and was hopeful for this place. The service was great, the restrooms were clean, and the ambiance was fun. A lot of signs to read LOL. But when it came to the food, I was really hoping to like it. One thing that was really good and that they have down is their veggies. Their salad was good, although it did have a runny blue cheese dressing on it, but it was still delicious. Their roasted veggies on the the steak plate were also very good and done right. But when it came to the steak itself, we ordered it medium rare and it was delivered rare. It was also under seasoned and we had to ask for salt and pepper. When we cut into it and showed our server the raw parts, he asked us to put the raw pieces on a small plate so that he can take it back to the kitchen and they can cook it somewhere. When we received it back, all the pieces were basically well done (see pic). He did tell us he took off 25% off of the steak plate so that was nice of him. Look at the picture that I posted of the fettuccine alfredo. It literally was just made out of cream only, and was missing cheese. At least the chicken in it was not dry and that was good. I had to ask for parmesan cheese and put a lot in it just so it could taste like fettuccine alfredo. We gave this place a chance, but we know we won't be coming back.

Great place to spend the night right by a river. The pizza at the restaurant was very filling and tasty. The staff was awesome. I would stay here again if I'm up this way.

This is one of those places that you drive by at 65 and think, I should stop and try that place some time. Well we finally did. Please keep in mind the three stars could be in part do to 11 of us showing up all at once for breakfast. Amber our server did a great job accmidating us and the food came out mostly all at once. I had an omelet with potatoes and rye bread that was a bit burnt.

Well, OK then. Been a rough couple of years for that smoked turkey club sandwich. Latest club kicked ass! Last one must have been an off day! That happens, no hard feelings.. Much relieved as this is my go to place.. Service was provided by a wonderful woman, who, even being totally overwhelmed by a large group ordering 7 pizzas, was kind and responsive. Of course this place is charming, with the warm and inviting interior to the airy and cool outside patio. This is a great place and would be an unexpected surprise for anyone traveling 395

I would definitely return to this charming and quirky family-run restaurant, where the love of their business and a great sense of humor is displayed throughout. Their expansive menu includes tasty home-stye food with generous servings. Gluten-free and other dietary restrictions are respectfully honored.

I finished a backpacking trip out of Tuolumne Meadows, drove Hwy 395 and was looking for a place to stay the night and shower near Bridgeport. I happened on this place and was delighted! It was quaint and perfect. They specialize in pizza so I asked if they happen to have gluten free and was told that since the wife had Celiac they had loads of GF options including GF pancakes in the morning. Not only was my pizza excellent, so was my GF avocado toast in the morning. They also have a little fishing business (too bad I hadn't brought a pole). The best part were the owners and staff. 5 Stars!

Turkey club from the lighter side. Your choice of bread. Awesome!

    Dog friendly patio?

Yes indeed, we welcome your four legged friends on our outside patio 🐕

I'm a celiac. We are planning on eating at your place on Monday the 3rd May. What are your gluten free options please? I will be with 2 others who have no restrictions. Also, covid stuff. Outdoor eating?

Thanks for writing! We do have several gluten free options (one of the owners is celiac so we do understand!)…

Cash only? I noticed the Resort and breakfast/lunch menus said no debit or credit cards, but it's not mentioned in any reviews or tips. Seems like that would be an important point to note in today's day and age!

Thanks for writing! We accept all the major flavors of credit cards. I’m not sure where cash only is stated, but we’ll verify our listings out there.

First, the staff and owner were incredibly warm and welcoming. Since we had our dog with us, we ate outside in a lovely little shaded courtyard. Then... I took my first bite of the burrito with the SALSA and immediately died and went to heaven. My husband and I both froze mid-bite and looked at each other in complete disbelief. This salsa, I swear, is magical. The burrito itself was fantastic, but this salsa? I can't even find the words. After I finished eating, I went back inside and asked for the owner. She came out from the kitchen, and I explained that I simply had to have more of this salsa. Unfortunately, she doesn't sell it in bulk yet. She kindly gave me a few to-go containers and said, "Yes, I'm working on getting it set up to sell to go." I asked what was in it, and although there was a bit of a language barrier, I gathered that it contains several unique peppers--some roasted, some fresh--and then, at the end, she added, "And... I also make it with love." I believe her. Kudos to this place. I literally just told my husband that we need to drive all the way back down here just for another burrito and this salsa!

Ravioli Bolognese: The standout dish. Rich, meaty, satisfying, and exactly the kind of homemade pasta dish that makes this place worth visiting. Pepperoni Pizza: Excellent crust, good char, and crispy pepperoni cups. Simple and really well executed. This is genuinely good pizza, not just good pizza for a mountain town. Caesar: One of the more unusual Caesars I've had. It arrived with essentially whole heads of lettuce, celery, and a homemade crunchy component that reminded us of a savory funnel cake. The homemade dressing was excellent. Different, fun to share, and memorable. Pasta: This is where Vulcania really shines. Everything tastes homemade, and I'd be comfortable ordering just about any pasta on the menu. Chicken Parmesan: Pretty good overall, with a creamy, rich sauce over the top. It was a little too heavy for me, but everyone else at the table loved it. Meatball: I would skip this dish. The meatball was undercooked and felt like it was lacking a binding ingredient. One thing worth knowing is that the kitchen isn't particularly flexible about modifying dishes. That makes sense for a chef-driven restaurant, but it's worth considering if you have picky eaters or prefer lots of substitutions. Overall, Vulcania is still the best pizza and pasta we've had in Mammoth. The handmade pasta is the real draw, the pizza is excellent, and dishes like the Caesar give the menu enough personality to make it more interesting than standard Italian-American food.

Cam recommended "family style" as many of the entrees are large and it gives you a chance to sample everything. We started with the asparagus summer rolls and tricolore salad. Both were delicious and refreshing. For the entrees we shared the cacio e pepe, margherita pizza, orechiette nero and chicken parmesan. Again, everything was excellent. For dessert, the gelato comes with three huge scoops along with three zeppoles (Italian donuts). The food was excellent and probably one of my new favorites in Mammoth.
