Old Possum was a cool spot while touring breweries in the Santa Rosa area. Great happy hour deals is where they shine! Unfortunately the food falls flat. There is a fun patio space with lots of tables and shade out front and plenty of bar seating with space for bar games inside. I ordered some happy hour bites and the Mexican lager. The tab was only $15 during happy hour. I should note they were out of quite a few things and this place didn't have the refinement of many other breweries in the area. We grabbed a table outside. I sipped on the beer, which was pretty good. It took awhile for our food to come. When our tater tots and pretzel arrived they looked good, but after first tastes, it was clear that they were just frozen and reheated items. The pretzel was overly tough and chewy. The nacho cheese certainly came from a can. The tater tots were fine, but probably from a frozen bag and thrown in the fryer. As a brewery, I'd give this place 4 stars. Came here on. Friday afternoon for lunch. The place was busier than expected. The gentlemen working was very friendly. They were out of pork, out of salad, and out of chips unfortunately. The tables were all pretty dirty and needed to be wiped down. There's a good outdoor space which is nice to soak up the weather. Games available to play as well. Smoked wings were delicious. Stopped in on a Tuesday night with a friend to grab a beer and some food. Not very busy at all. Bartender was friendly. Took a seat and enjoyed some beers while watching the All Star game which was as on most of the many TVs hanging around the location. They have a nice covered area outside but we choose to sit inside. We decided to order some food and decided on the dry rubbed chicken wings to start. So good. Definitely worth getting. We then decided to other something else and we both decided on the "Holy Ship" shrimp tacos.... Let me tell you "HOLY SHIP" were they spicy. Good but DAMN. We were warned by the bartender but I guess I had watched one too many episodes of Hot Ones and I was up for a challenge. Out of the three the 1st was the hardest to get through. I've been wanting to get back to this place for some time. I tried visiting before, but was called away pretty much after walking in the door. Tonight, I finally had the opportunity. I'm not sure what the definition of a "hole in the wall," but this just might be a hole in the wall. Oh yeah, off the beaten as well. Can we just pick this place up and move it closer to me? Please? If you don't know this place is here, you might never find it. We sampled a few of the beers tonight, the menu is IPA heavy (I'm not a IPA fan, but there are beers for regular Joes and not IPA Bro's). They also had a guest cider and two wine options on the menu. They did have a couple/few stouts on the menu. I did want to sample, but I was DD and needed to be good tonight. Sigh. One huge bonus here, no food truck...because they have their own dedicated kitchen (run by Flagship BBQ). Their food was was outstanding. I got a Chicken, Bacon and Chipotle Ranch sandwich w/ a side of bacon mac salad. My wife got a bacon & smoke gouda sandwich. A friend of ours got the smoked chicken & gouda sandwich. Another order had sourdough crostini and brie. Yeah we all love the food. I need to try the wings next time there. All orders are done at the bar (drinks & food). The bar has several stools to chill as you drink as you watch whatever on TV. There's a side room with more TV's, all different sports tonight. There are a handful of tables and high-tops. There's also dart board available. There is also covered outdoor seating available out front. Definitely a place to grab a pint, a bite and watch sports on TV. Nothing fancy and it doesn't need to be. Staff was cool and friendly. It's an odd location, but it's worth it to try and find. Sonoma County / Santa Rosa has many good breweries. Absolutely love their triple IPA and the Interstellar stout. Good service and a cozy off the path location with nice outdoor seating that's pet friendly. Definitely worth a visit. read more

My wife and I had lunch here recently. I had a burger and she had a chicken sandwich. Neither were all that good. I would rate her chicken sandwich a 2 or 3 out of 5, and my burger was a distant 1 out of 5. Both had way too much salt, as did the fries. My burger also had a ton of black pepper on it. I would not recommend this place and will definitely not return. read more

This place is amazing been here before but came today for the FREE music, The Pirtchforks" an incredibly talented band from4-7. Their beer is so good we enjoyed the Dusk Runner and Other Brother beers. The staff is so friendly and always offer a sample if you are not sure what you want to order. The patrons are welcoming and ladies you will feel very comfortable going on your own or with your girlfriends. Dogs welcome in the patio. Faron's has been around town for some time, used to be in Penngrove and is now in Santa Rosa inside the Old Possum Brewery Co. I heard about this spot through my hubby's colleague who tried Faron's years ago and raved about how good it was. We looked them up and found out they're still in business at a different location. We came a few weeks ago on a rainy Monday night. We called in advance but no one picked up but thought we would try our luck by going there. Once we entered, we were greeted by the bartender and she helped us order our take out. The menu is small but consists of your choice of meats and sides. There are a few speciality items such as hush puppies, jambalaya, etc. We ordered a bbq chicken plate with potato salad/rice/beans and the bbq smoked briskets with angel hair Mac & cheese and string beans. Comes with sides of corn bread which is MUST TRY. The wait was only about 15 mins which wasn't long but worth the wait!! The meats were delicious, bbq taste throughly. Sides were delicious. It's hard to find a spot around town that does good bbq (the bbq spot used to but closed) but I'm happy to report Faron's got it. I'm looking forward to coming back soon! I'm Hooked! Dirty rice with BBQ pulled pork. Yum! Fish & chips were declared "the best" hubby has ever tried. The chipotle aioli was a great accompaniment. So far we have been twice and have enjoyed just about everything. (Guacamole wasn't a repeater for us but the chips were great.) Dirty Cobwebs in the corner and on the wall by our table Floor had not been swept in a long time. Bathrooms were dirty too. Sink had grime. Wall under paper towel dispenser was streaked with dirt which only takes a minute to wipe down. Toilet hadn't been cleaned in days. I wonder how the kitchen looks? They seem nice and the beer was fine. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I've worked in restaurants and have watched enough restaurant reality shows to know that a lack of attention to cleanliness in the front of the house is usually a pretty good indicator of how things are handled in general. read more

Unquestionably my new favorite hangout. The team at Old Possum is so much fun, and they are slinging some top notch brews. The Summer Sippin blonde ale is my favorite, with Crocs n Socks coming in as a close second. They've got a mexican inspired bar food menu that rotates with fresh offerings. I also love their community building activities like video game tournaments on Thursdays that is hopefully expanding into some other game options (I'll be there for Headbandz for sure!) Live music a few days a week as well. The taproom is tucked away in the industrial area in southwest SR. There's plenty of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Gender neutral restrooms. I went here for a comedy night a few days ago and i gotta say, it was a horrible experience. The comedy was great, the food was solid too, but there was a group of people harassing the comics, shouting inappropriate things, slurs under their breath. When this was brought up to the owner/manager, it was revealed they were his friends. He was also very drunk and clearly under the influence of something else as well. He did nothing to mitigate their awfulness. I'm not sensitive but damn they should've been kicked out immediately. They were over served before the show even started. If this is the kind of person running this place and filling it with his coked out drunk friends, i will not be back. Real shame, this place could be something. I won't be back. read more

We ordered food and she said the chef would be back in a couple minutes and we said we were fine. 30 minutes later she told us he would be back in three minutes. Really? We almost left. Then the food finally came. It was "fine." The ribs were delicious but they weren't Cajun. She said the chef was making the Mac and cheese but clearly if it is made with angel hair pasta, and he left for a half hour, that was over cooked,lol. So no max and cheese. We had the potato salad and it was Costco. We had the beans and rice and it was fine also not spicy. The ribs were delicious but also sweet, not Cajun. Sadly, the bartender stepped out for "a few minutes" and once my husband could get the attention of the guy behind the bar to ask for hot sauce, I was done eating. They had Tabasco and Crystal, so we chose the latter. I'd have loved to have a Louisiana styled hot sauce, like Franks Red Hot but of the bites I ate of my husband's with the Crystal made all the difference (at least the beans and ribs). All in all, I'm a happy girl. I'll go back for the beer for sure. If we eat, I'll bring my own hot sauce, haha. Three ribs and two sides $25. Happy hour beers were about $5 each. read more

Really did the trick, especially in this covid era. Easy parking and a nice patio with ample shade and space. There were 6 beers on tap and 3 or 4 can selections to go, too. The pulled pork sandwich was so juicy and good. The crinkle fries were a nice touch. My partner's burger, which included a runny egg, was also quite good. (I snagged a bite!) Hop Creep had a great balance of citrus and pine. I got some cans to go! First time coming here and it was nice. Don't be fooled by the look of some of the beers- they use a certain cold process and unfiltered so you'll see very little differences between the regular ales and the IPA's.. I got 4 flights of the Beastmode, Seastack, Garibaldi (my favorite), and the Drysdale. To eat I had the Nashville Hot sandwich which was good but very, very spicy. My companion had the Buffalo Chicken Melt and a glass of Chardonnay which she to send back and get a new bottle- it was discolored and the flavor was off.... Maybe old. So excited to learn about this awesome hidden gem. Set back in the industrial area off of Standish. They had a variety of different types of beers both on tap and packaged for To Go. We tried the carne asada tacos as well as the carnitas bowl. Both were excellent and worth going back for on their own. When we were spoke with staff they were saying currently on Mondays they have BBQ for food, Tuesdays they are working with someone to bring pizzas and Wednesday through Sunday Barrio. They also have live music most Friday and Saturday nights. And it looks like they are starting up game nights? The patio was nice and very shady and all the tables were pretty spread out. Came here with some friends for their Halloween drive in movie night - they were showing Beetlejuice! They didn't mess around when it came to the drive in logistics. They made sure that everyone got in and out of the lot quickly and set up the cars in a way so that everyone could see the screen. They had a candy and popcorn station with all the candies you'd ever want for a movie. This was clearly not their first rodeo. Great attention to detail. After we parked, we walked over to the main building to get our grub and drank on. Great covid precautions - masks required and spacious outdoor seating with tables you could enjoy (safely) with your party. They had a limited food menu for the event: chicken sandwiches, chicken tender meals, etc. and for drinks they had a selection of their draft beers and options for wine. Max was super helpful with advice on what to order and provided excellent service. His Halloween costume was on point too. My boyfriend ordered (and loved) the Alien Search Party IPA per Max's recommendation. He got it on tap and bought a 4 pack for at-home consumption. Food was great! We inhaled the chicken sandwiches with crinkle cut fries...need I say more? Would definitely come back and 100% recommend stopping by. read more

One of the best up-and-coming breweries in Northern California. Brewery itself is great. Good selection of very drinkable beers and a lot you can buy cans for. We've had them once before when in Santa Rosa and look forward to when they will be available all over. Brewery is really nice - kid and dog friendly (yes, we did have the people with the screaming kids next to us - people who do not understand other people exist in the world and don't want to hear your screaming kids the whole time we're trying to enjoy some beers - but that's not the brewery's fault - just be aware - if you don't want to be around screaming kids and parents who just let their kids go - this is not the place for you). Any place that lets dogs in is going to a good place. They have games here too and of course we left with shirts and hoodies. Support this place. With a lot of the breweries in the area closing down, it's good this place is thriving and hopefully will grow. It seems like Henhouse (who we also love) has really taken over the area but there's plenty of room for another great brewery. Also, if there's a beer you want to take home that they don't can, they will bottle some for you right there. That is awesome!! We of course took advantage of this - love it. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Wanted to find a brewery to take my husband to that had a kitchen, and when I saw the menu had BBQ, it was a done deal. Super cool vibes, inside and outside seating, TVs to watch sports, and has regular events going on (live music, comedy, trivia night, etc.) Will have to come back! Plenty of beers on tap and bottled to take home. Wish I wasn't DD so I could've tried a sour. Husband was quite happy with his selection of IPA. Faron delivers with his BBQ - don't think I've ever had BBQ this good and unique. Ribs and cornbread were perfection. The Texas toast was the perfect thing to dip in the spicy baked beans. I didn't know green beans could taste good! What was really unique was the Angel hair Mac and cheese, and the Cajun grilled cheese with bacon, blackened. This brewery has been on my radar. The Yelpers report good things so I had to go check it out for myself. With 12 taps, I was expecting a whole lot more than only 5 beer choices. The must of been in the process of brewing ? Only 1 IPA, 2 blondes, no porter or stout was offered. I was pretty bummed with the beer selection of 5. Positives are - we got great service. She was a sweetheart and I wish I got her name but she said she had cats. Loved, loved, loved the location tucked away in a quiet industrial area. Loved the seating both indoor and out. They serve food that is somewhat decent. They are family and pet friendly. For me, I came here for the beer and I just feel it was a let down. I'd come back again to see what else they are brewing. But a selection of 5 beers was a let down. I would give these guys another chance. read more

There's nothing better than great food, good people, and live music. Like the two bands that we heard, their menu ROCKS!!!! Do reference my photos. The chef is amazing (Kudos X a billion). Order inside, and your food is delivered by amazing staff. I didn't try their beer, but my friends raved and bought some to take home. I travel often for work, so look for local breweries to try out. Was really excited to visit this place. The food menu online looked awesome. Jambalaya and a porter. Perfection. Alas, the normal food truck was out for a few weeks. The replacement offering was mediocre at best. ( 3 over done ribs, ( no bark, just chared) and soggy fries.) We will continue supporting OPB and wish that everyone else do the same. They are unique in their location and Beer is good. A little off the beaten path in Santa Rosa but the space itself is warm and inviting. There is plenty of easy parking out front and ample seating indoors and outside. We decided to share the flight of all of the beers to really experience what this brewery had to offer. This was 10 pours which totaled about 2 and a half pints. They had a nice spectrum of beers ranging from Pilsners, Browns, IPAs, and Stouts. Overall the beers were pretty standard and straight forward. The most interesting and my favorite was the espresso stout. They also have a unique food menu that's a little more upscale and interesting than your regular brewery menu. We decided to share the Rillettes which is a pork spread accompanied with stone ground mustard, house made pickled veggies, and crostinis. read more
