What's not to love about fresh bagels? Go here and buy all the things. You won't regret it!

Yum! While in Seattle I tried to have as much seafood as possible, so of course one of those had to be a bagel with fish. I loved the dried salmon on these bagels. It was a bit pricey, but since I was on vacation, prices don't count. The capers in the sauce and the pickled veggies made a nice combination. They had some cute outdoor seating and the staff was friendly and quick. They don't have a huge variety of bagels, but they're good at what they do. It was a very nice experience overall.

Finally stopped by this past Saturday before a walk with a friend. Friendly and helpful staff. Some stand up wall counter inside but most seating is outside picnic tables or Rupee's covered space. Interior is simple, clean and welcoming. Love the old sailor door handle and portrait. They have an espresso machine so you can order a latte with your bagels. What I really liked was during the cold snap I was at Watson's Counter down the street and one of the owners walked in ordered a bunch of coffee for the staff at Old Salt cause their pipes for and she brought them a bag of bagels. Love seeing small businesses supporting each other. I had the Smoked Cod sandwich and my friend created her own veggie sandwich cause she can't do eggplant. Nice to have another bagel option in the neighborhood. Will probably pick up a couple of the black sesame bagels next time they sound unique.

I was really happy when I saw that old salt was opening a second location in Ballard. They opened yesterday. It's a cute, little location not too far from the market street. They didn't have any seating options. When we got there on Thursday morning around 8 am there were 3 people ahead of us in the line. I got the veggie on everything bagel and my boyfriend got the lox sandwich. The veggie sandwich had crispy eggplant, micro greens and pickled carrot with chili cream cheese. The lox sandwich has generous amount of lox gravlax and salmon roe. My boyfriend said he wasn't a fan of the roe in the first few bites, but then he really liked it. I liked the taste of the bagel but I thought the texture could have been better, it was a little too chewy for my liking. Overall, I'm glad to have old salt in Ballard!

Good bagel but $16 kippered salmon sandwich had less than a tablespoon of salmon. More pickled onion than salmon. Out the door with two bagel sandwiches and a coffee for $40! Unacceptable with such minuscule portions. Too many great salmon bagels in this town to return here.

Amazing service, super quick, food was delicious. I got the everything with veggie spread and my friend got the Lox Bagel. Both delicious! Finally a bagel place that lives up to NYC bagel supremacy.

Best bagel in Ballard! The cream cheese is silky smooth with great flavor and no grit at all. The bagels are wonderfully chewy, which I personally love, but if you prefer a softer texture, you might want to pass. The everything bagel is perfectly seasoned, and while it's not very busy on weekdays, it does get packed on weekends. I'd recommend going before 10 a.m. for the freshest bagels. One thing to note: all bagels and sandwiches are automatically cut in half. If you have contamination concerns, I'd suggest asking them not to cut it. Once, I found a small piece of salmon on my bagel, which wasn't great as a picky eater. The staff I've met over the past month have all been super friendly. The coffee is also good, but the bagels are definitely the star of the show!

Kippered salmon bagel, disappointing ratios All the flavors are great, but for some reason they choose to fill it with cream cheese and maybe 1-2 ounces of salmon. For the cost of $16 for the bagel I'd rather go to Racheal's bagels down the street and get a bagel packed full of salmon...

Excited they opened in Ballard! I mean their first location is in Fremont which is also close to us, but this is even better. The shop is super cute! There aren't any tables, just some small standing counter areas to eat at. We didn't get the bagels since we already had some at the house, but we did want to get some cream cheese. We got the smoked fish cream cheese which we liked a lot! The texture was really light and fluffy, but I wish there was just a bit more of the smoked fish flavor or more chunks of fish in the cream cheese

    Symmetrical cuts? What's the point.

Really depends on who is making and cutting the bagels. The tall guy with the long hair is awful, consistently lazy with how much cream cheese he puts on the bagel and is probably suffering from a strong case of myopia because his ability to cut bagels is also miserable. The other employees are great, just avoid this place when the tall guy with the long hair is there,

For a Saturday with a line to the door, they worked fast! The staff were polite and the lox bagel was delicious! Place is small with no seating inside but I believe the outdoor parklet belonged to them.

this sandwich was highly impressive as the main part of the…read moresandwich, it was pretty necessary that the pork be cooked to near-perfection, and i have to say it was here it gave off a deep, brown-ish color, which showed the extent of it's cooking and marination. It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

The beans were passable, super watery and not especially flavorful. The scallops were cooked perfectly but there weren't that many of them. The star was the sauce the scallops were in: this was actually quite good. Overall was okay but doesn't spur me to go back. Maybe other dishes here are better.

My husband and I were leaving the National Nordic Museum and wanted to grab some food to take home…read moreso we decided to order online at Mean Sandwich. My order was ready at the time that was specified (also received a text when it was done) and according to what I read, they keep your food on a warmer while they wait for you to pick it up. How nice! $20 for a sandwich seems pricey, but let me tell you, they definitely make a MEAN sandwich! The Mean - THICK pieces of juicy corned beef with housemade mustard, pickled red cabbage and mint. The cross section of the sandwich looks insane! The combination of flavors is excellent. The Hama Hama Oyster Po'Boy - Deep-fried Hama Hama yysters with housemade remoulade and lemon-pepper mayo. I loved this. The oysteres were nicely fried with not too much batter. You could really taste the oyster and appreciate the texture. The French roll was also very nice. It was similar to a Vietnamese Banh Mi roll. Soft, but with a light crispness on the outside. Fully Loaded Skins & Ins - Skins & Ins are basically a mixture of fried potato skins and potato chunks so you get a variety of texture: thin and crispy, or soft and meaty. The fully loaded option adds toppings similar to that of a loaded baked potato (white sauce, spices, scallions, and super crunchy bacon bits). This was a nice change from having the usual chips or fries with a sandwich. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge in this area, but if you're able to make it over then I think it's worth visiting.

This small shop in Ballard is somewhere you likely wouldn't stumble upon, but it is definitely worth seeking out. The shop itself is fairly small with a few booths, some window seating, and a few tables. We ordered our food to go, but there were a few spots open so we could have dined in had we preferred. The owner of the shop was there and help share about the menu. You can tell he is passionate about his restaurant and he answered all our questions. We even got to talking to him about some of his books he has in the shop that are different sandwich books and he was so knowledgeable on them, the chefs and more. We tried 3 different sandwiches - the steak tartar, the mean (corned beef) and the wtk (fried chicken). All three were a wonderful combinations of ingredients you would not see on an average sandwich shop menu and all three were delightful. In addition to the sandwiches, they come with potatoes which were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside (aka. cooked to perfection.) We upgraded one of our potatoes to the loaded version and to no surprise it was also amazing. It runs on the slightly more expensive side for sandwiches, but for the quantity and quality you get it is worth it!

The green curry was rich and fragrant, which paired perfectly with the multigrain rice. There was an addictive quality about the garlic noodles, and the pork belly was as succulent as it was flavorful. The pad see you was excellent as expected, and the ba mee toon was the favorite of the table. Everything was roughly $90 before tip, and service was excellent the whole time.
