These bagels have the perfect pan-toasted crunch, but I was super disappointed to find the everything bagel I ordered way too salty for my taste. I loved the fresh flavour of the jalapeños in the cream cheese and literally everything else, so I think maybe I just need to try a different type of bagel next time. In a true, you can't please everyone fashion, my partner and I disagreed about whether or not there was an adequate amount of cream cheese on our bagels. I commented that it was not as much as they would put on my bagel in New York, wishing there was more, and he said there was an egregious amount of cream cheese and scraped some off. The oat milk mocha I ordered was creamy and rich, but I feel like the saltiness of the bagel was so overpowering I couldn't have them both at the same time. I love the versatility of this spot. They have bagels, they have pizza, they have bakery and espresso drinks, they have bread. It's also pretty affordable too relative to portions. The servers were friendly and helpful. I didn't realize a pizza flavor could speak to me as much as it did when we stopped in today. After ordering a slice of pickled peppers and cheese pizza and finishing it off, I made my partner get in line to order another. They take your order and reheat up the slice before bringing it to your table. I paired it with a bottle of local organic apple juice. I rarely have pregnancy cravings and I wouldn't call this so much a craving as a revelation, but this made my baby dance in the belly. Oxbow did their pizza right. In addition, most pizza places seem to treat the crust as an afterthought. I happily ate the crust on this one because they put in an aromatic hint of olive oil. Don't overlook it! I went to this coffee shop with my husband and family and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the shop itself is super cute and cozy with a lot of indoor seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Allegedly this place is known for their pastry items which I did not try but they looked beautiful (see photos). What my husband and I did try however was a mocha and hot chocolate. Not good unfortunately. No whipcream either. The mocha just tasted like whole milk with no chocolate flavor at all and the hot chocolate was dark and had no flavor. I think you should order pastries and not chocolate drinks at this place. But for coffee I'd rather go to Starbucks than this because it was 7 dollars for each of our drinks which is crazy for the quality. read more

My experience at Oxbow was a bit rough. I had their salmon bagel sandwich, which is my go-to benchmark order. Their core product--the bagel--was dramatically overbaked and thin. This made it into more of a cracker than a bagel. Additionally, they opt to use an awkwardly shaped lump of smoked salmon in the middle of the bagel vs. lox, contributing to an overall dryness and awkward eating experience. For a place that highlights their house-made bagels (you can watch the process through the window) , and even teaches classes on the topic, this product was surprisingly poor. It's not all bad, service was good and they appear to be locally popular and used as a gathering space. That said, I won't be back. read more

We came here on MLK day around noon and it was packed! Don't be intimidated if there's a long line, it moves quickly! You order at the counter, find a table, and they call out your name with your food if they haven't already handed it to you when you order. We liked that this cafe has pastries, pizza by the slice (freshly baked after 12pm) and bagels, and they were all good! We especially loved how the pizza was crispy on the bottom even with it being a super thin crust. We were all happy with our food and agreed we would come back and try more things next time. I do like Oxbow and I stopped in occasionally because I live nearby. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Today a golden doodle was tied up out front and it lunged at me. I'm a dog person, but it was still startling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I informed an employee who told me that dogs are not allowed inside and so they have to be tied up outside and unfortunately, Oxbow has no accountability in this situation. Hubby and I stopped at Oxbow around 2:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon. I've heard about this place and wanted to stop by to see what it was all about. It looked like the display case was picked over. We did manage to enjoy our sampling of pepperoni pizza with crisp crust, cheese knot, almond & date biscotti and an 8 oz. mocha. I liked that they had a variety of pizza slices available. Both the pizza and cheese knot were warmed up for us. Oxbow had a welcoming vibe, service was friendly and prompt, and we found parking out front. Hubby and I are enjoying trying new spots in new/different (than our) neighborhoods. We plan to stop by again, hopefully earlier in the day, so we can see the rest of what Oxbow offers. read more

I have heard so many good things about this bakery so I was quite excited to eat here for the first time. I was disappointed in the service and the food and will likely not return any time soon. When I was ready to order she scoffed at me and said, 'oh you finally made a decision and this is all you're getting?' This left a bad taste in my mouth. I found this quite rude. It seemed quite judgmental, as if I hadn't ordered enough to her liking. The pizza was less than mid - it looked better than it tasted. Quite a thin crust. Very crunchy - burnt? - not a ton of flavor. I probably wouldn't order it again. The cheese knot was also mediocre. The 'everything bagel' had almost no seeds on it - it might as well have been plain. It was quite dry, barely toasted and I couldn't taste or see any of the smoked salmon that was supposedly mixed into the cream cheese. I'd rather get bagels from Hey Bagel, Dingfelder's or gosh, even Eltana would be preferred. They certainly don't hold up to a NY bagel imo and are not as fluffy and I wanted them to be, but they tasted pretty good and it was easy to bite through the bagel (I hate it when bagels are super hard to get through the crust). I think the "CC" on the menu may have been missed because he thought there would actually be smoked salmon on the bagel. They do have a smoked salmon sandwich... but sure how that is different because the font list what is in their sandwiches. Although I ended up being much more impressed with the place (ambience, focus on high quality ingredients and presentation, open kitchen concept, and it's so clean!) I really enjoyed my morning when I stopped by here! I've been meaning to check this place out and I'm so glad I did! It's essentially Seawolf's sister bakery; they have some Seawolf classics stocked here like the pecan roll and sourdough loaves! I ordered a toasted everything bagel with roasted jalapeño cream cheese and I loved the flavors together! They were generous with the cream cheese and the bagel had the perfect crispy exterior with a soft and chewy interior. I really loved this place and would love to come back to try more of their bagels! It's also nice knowing I can stop by here for a delicious artisan slice of pizza or Seawolf classics that is a bit closer than the actual seawolf location. I also got an oat milk cortado to stay since the ambiance of this place was so peaceful I had to stay a little longer. There's plenty of seating, vaulted ceilings, and soft music. When I went it was quite busy, and the place is split into the bakery on one side and the coffee bar on the other. I got some bagels, a slice of pizza, and some baked goods. Nothing was good to me really. When you stand to compete with greats like Sea Wolf, Noveau, Loxsmith, Coyle...you gotta bring your A game or get out of the way. This place didn't even come close. Texture, flavor, freshness of everything was lacking and can't recommend the specific things I had there. So Oxbow basically has all of my favorite things in one place: pizza, bagels cheesecake, a nice place to sit and catch up with friends, wide variety of drinks (wine, coffee). I think we went back 3 separate times to order different things, including taking a half dozen bagels back home for later. Will definitely be coming back, especially might try to come earlier in the day as it seemed some of their pastries and baked goods sell out toward the afternoon. read more

I have come multiple times and many times the people at the cashier have been dismissive. The first time I visited, the person let out an audible sigh and rolled their eyes when we placed our order. We also didn't know you had to pick up your drinks at the back counter because the person never told us. We waited at the cashier counter until the person snarkily told us the drinks were not to be picked up there. I have come across this person again at a subsequent visit and the attitude was just as cold. Most recently, a different person seemed annoyed and impatient when I had to clarify my order when they misheard me. It seems from other reviews people have had decent experiences with the service so hopefully it's just a few people who need feedback. We had three pies cheese pepperoni and Hawaiian all three were 8.0 plus pizzas. I had pizza at three other top places in Seattle and this was by far the best. I love Oxbows bagels & pizza! The interior is also great with the local art they have. Something I am not in love with is the customer service here. We walked in at 4 yesterday (oxbow closes at 5) to get a coffee on a rainy day and were refused with a response that the "espresso bar closes at 4pm". For what?? So the staff can leave right at 5?? Seems ridiculous to turn a customer away with a whole hour left of business. The time prior we were unable to find an open seat- there are two full tables in the general seating area reserved with "staff only" signs. Delicious Focaccia-I had a pesto mozzarella with veggies and it was sooo good. There was a seasonal pear-chaider that was absolutely amazing. I picked up a pizza and discovered AFTER getting home that the pizza was burned. I called them to let them know that they should have at least told me the pizza got burned before I left. The employee who answered the phone told me he made the pizza and insisted it wasn't burned. I told him to send me their email so I could send some pictures. He refused to provide an email and didn't want to see any pictures since he said the pizza wasn't burned.
