Save yourself the headache and just go to Panera I've been going to this place for years and it seems like every time I try to go in to support a small business it has declined further than the last time. Today was the last straw for me. I received an email promotion inviting me to come back and get a free breakfast bagel. I went in and it was busy, but the promo was showing up in my app and I was excited. I ordered my breakfast adding on a Vanilla Latte to give some money back to the business. The young lady at the register was nice at first. I handed her my phone to redeem the promo and she said, "I can't find it. Do you have your number or email?" I provided both of those and she still couldn't find it. She grabbed her higher up who said there's nothing they could do if they couldn't find it. She had me pull up my email to verify it wasn't an old promotion (it was sent to me 5 days ago and not expired) and just kept saying "it's not working. I can't do anything." No help. No alternative. No urgency to honor their promo and assist a long time customer. Just "we can't do anything about it." I never do this kind of thing, but I was frustrated with the lack of any kind of customer service or initiative and I asked her to cancel my order and I left. To be fair, the food is generally good. It's a bagel and cream cheese so it's hard to mess up, but I've always been satisfied with what I've ordered in the past. It's sad in this day and age when everything is getting corporatized, but small businesses like this aren't prioritizing the one thing that keeps people coming back, customer service. read more

The service was great. Asked the lady behind the register what she suggested after telling there were multiple bagel options for the lunch menu item. Personally, I was overwhelmed by which ones she said and took her suggestion. I was pleasant surprised at how it came out with what toppings were on the bagel. As you can see in the picture it had some cheeses, but it was light and had that nice fresh tomato and lettuce to keep the turkey juicy. Really want to love this place. I keep returning, but I always am a bit disappointed. The bagels are good but are never quite prepared well. Sandwiches aren't toasted/heated or they heat bagel with ingredients all on it so it's soggy. Breakfast bagel is microwaved for example, so the bagel isn't even toasted. Even had the cheese be still cold. Their ingredient quality just seems to be lacking as well. This could really be a top place for breakfast and lunch if a few quality control changes were made. I absolutely love old school bagels. They seem very authentic. My only problem with the company is that they will not toast the bagels the way I would like, on the outside of the bagel and the inside of the bagel. I've tried for tens of years to get them to do it my way and they still have not and will not and absolutely just refuse to run them through the toaster again on the other side. read more

Went through the drive through for our first time to this place and I was a little worried, given the reviews before, but we'll try anything once - and we loved this place! Drive through was quick and easy. Only thing is that they actually did get one of the orders just slightly wrong. We ordered the El Fuego with the jalapeno cheddar but it came with a regular bagel. The upside is...the El Fuego was so good, you wouldn't notice it! The pulled pork was soft, came with lotsa sauce, and had just the right amount of jalapenos. I loved the Firecracker I got too! They don't have a lot of seating. Certain bagels run out by 1:00. Sometimes bagels are very good and sometimes not up to standards.

The quality of OSBC has dropped dramatically in the last two years. We used to come here all the time, starting in Norman and then when we moved, both locations on Covell and on 2nd St. It's gotten so bad that really we haven't been in months, but this morning we figured we'd give it a shot. Bagels: totally un-toasted and cut totally crooked/wonky. You can tell they just don't care. How do you take it out of the toaster, see that it's soft and the same color as it was when it went in, and shrug? How do you not make sure the toasted bagel is toasted? It's not as if there is some mystery to the process. You just don't care. Coffee: It should be a crime to serve coffee like this to people. How long was it sitting there, 3 hours? 4? I spit mine right back into my cup, wife tiptoed to the kitchen to politely spit hers down the sink. Seriously whoever put this in a cup to serve to us should be forced to drink the whole pot as punishment. Again, they just do not care. Service: We were charged for the wrong order, then cashier didn't know how to cancel the incorrect charge. What on earth? Last time it was much worse, if you can believe it. We threw away a breakfast bagel with a piece of sausage on it that appeared a year old and was un-chew-able. Overall, there has obviously been some fundamental change in ownership or leadership, as both locations are now not worth the trouble. Really disappointing. It's been awhile since I've been to an Old School and was excited to try it again. I ordered the firecracker which was supposed to have habanero cheese and I wanted it on a jalapeño bagel. The cheese was just swiss and the jalapeño bagel didn't have hardly any jalapeños but the flavors were still good...just not what it should have been which is fantastic. I also felt like they should have put more chorizo sausage on it. The chorizo sausage patty was very good but super thin. Not the best experience at Old School Bagel Cafe this morning. I ordered a "ham and cream cheese on everything" bagel -- I did not see it on the board, but there was an "all meat" sandwich with ham, sausage, and bacon for about $4.25... The cashier asked me if I wanted it hot and toasted -- I said yes. I waited quite a while -- not terrible for the breakfast rush, but it was almost 8 am and I figured the breakfast rush would be over... What I received was ONE SLICE OF HAM (folded in half) on a COLD sandwich. Tell me, how did I pay almost a dollar more than the "all meat" sandwich, and I received 1/3 of the meat? I would describe my everything bagel as "mild" not at all much seasoning but toasted, I ate every bite. I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5 for bagel ratings. Old School for me is a opportunistic meal. This is Edmond's 3rd Old School Bagel (newly opened!) location. It's a remodeled building in the Smithcot shopping center off of Coltrane & Second. The drive thru is super! This store also has extended hours compared to the other two locations, which is awesome. Makes everything very convenient. The bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and deli sandwiches are all so great! They have great variety and I really enjoy their coffee and tea. My favorites are a cold everything bagel with cream cheese, the cowboy club & the old smokey. You can't beat their prices either. I think bagels are like, $1.20 each or something like that. I love this place and I'm happy about the new location! read more

I rated this one star because it wouldn't accept zero stars. We went in on Friday morning at about 8:45 am. When ordering coffee was told by the lady (who later said she was the new manager) that my husband couldn't get (bold) coffee because they had run out. The reason wasn't that they were out, but the big boss only allowed them to make one batch. She droned on about how it was expensive and he limited it. Second. our ham and cream cheese bagels were barely toasted and the ham was one pathetic razor-thin slice. we got our money back and went elsewhere. If this is how the owner runs his business, this is a sure way to lose customers. If he is so worried about cost maybe he should be there working. We will never go back and will definitely never recommend them to anyone. What is sad is that we liked this place but it has gone down in quality. read more

I haven't been to any old school Bagel Cafes but this one is close to home and I wanted to try something new other than the regular greasy old diner for breakfast. Because who wants to be at a crowded diner with nothing but greasy options. Okay maybe sometimes but not today. I'd like to say that this is a nice, quiet yet steady place to come eat relax and maybe even get some studying or work done. The tables are nice and long enough for 5 people to spread there arms open comfortably or one person spread all out. I can hear the country music playing in the background and it makes me feel like I'm on vacation. Back to what I was writing this review for, the food. My food came out steaming hot and that's how I like it. I almost wish I didn't share my bacon croissant. It was warm, soft and buttery. I would of liked a little more flaky to buttery ratio. Why didn't I get a bagel? Because I didn't feel like it. Next time. I ordered a vanilla latte and I like it a latte! Because coffee should make you smile and feel warm inside. Like there's nothing else in the room but you and that smooth cup waking you up and making you feel like you can take on this world (or the day). We met some family here for lunch, and felt lucky to grab a table. It was crowded with people! The Chicken Bruschetta on an Everything bagel was my choice. The Parmesan Chicken Breast, Pesto, and Bruschetta combo was amazing. All food is served all day, so hubby was happy to be able to order a Ham, Egg, and Cheese on an Everything Bagel. The kiddos that were with us had pizza bagels. We've always been happy with Old School at other locations, and this one didn't disappoint. Unfortunately, I have to give Old School two stars. Their food and drinks are great, but this location needs some work. If you order a bagel and cream cheese, you'll probably be fine. Anything else and it may take a while or get forgotten. I've worked nearby for close to a year and find myself going only because it's convenient and I keep holding out hope that "this time will be better". They consistently forget something or just simply don't get my order right. Today I ordered a breakfast croissant and got a breakfast bagel on what I think is a raisin bagel. ‍ They also forgot my drink even though I told the girl I was still waiting for it when she handed me my food. I know they were two different people, but you'd think girl 1 would tell girl 2, "hey, she's still waiting on a drink". But I don't know how things work, or in this case don't work around there. I've had a handful of other visits that have been the same. Ex: waiting 20 minutes in the drive through for a salad and/or them forgetting dressing, or the moldy cucumber situation I had a while back, that they remedied with a gift card.
