    Pastrami Sandwich on Rye bread
    Becca W.

LOVE THIS PLACE. Whether or not it's for breakfast or lunch anything we get is ALWAYS amazing. Darlene are waitress was very kind and friendly, answered any and all questions we had. Steve I believe is the owner was very nice as well and accommodating. Today I got the half sandwich tuna melt with cabbage roll soup. Cabbage roll soup was a special and tasted divine it was very filling and was perfect, the tuna sandwich was also very yummy I love all the additions they add to it. My husband ordered the bad boy and there was nothing left. Always a great place to eat will definitely be back. Place was clean and tables were set nicely.

I'm going to update my review. Solid 5. Always fresh, always fast. Great homemade food.

Fries were made perfect. Crunchy but not burnt.

My first and not last visit. Great service the menus is small but very unique. Town Club pop. Fried bologna or spam sandwiches. I had the number 13. Corned beef salami Swiss mustard and pickles on pumpernickel. My husband had the corned beef and coleslaw. Prices are reasonable. Next time I'm trying breakfast.

Went in for brunch. I ordered the pastrami hash with two over easy eggs and white toast. The hash was fantastic the pastrami was smoked great flavor. The potatoes were prepared well. The eggs were good with a good runny yolk. The service is fantastic and friendly. The dining area was clean. Coke products are served.

Stopped in today on a whim. I had the hot roast beef (with homemade mashed potatoes), hubby had podium burgers (ginormous sliders) & daughter had the wise guy (cheesesteak). OMG! What an amazing hidden gem! The lead server is super sweet & the head chef & owner was great too! The food was fantastic! It has a divey old time 50s diner feel to it. We are all SUPER glad we stopped in! We think we found our new stop in! It sits back on Groesbeck so make sure to watch for this one!!!

A local business revived - yet another solid restaurant in the area. Open less than a year, this restaurant is a nice diner just south of 13 Mile Road along Michigan's M-97 Highway. 1st off, the staff here did a wonderful job in service, and the owner was on hand to personally see to it that everyone was greeted and all their needs were met. Their menu is on news print, simple, but chocked full of whimsical choices. Found inside 4 pages, their breakfast offerings fill 2 pages, and spill onto a 3rd. For breakfast, I ordered the A12 Peek-a-boo eggs (2 slices of bread with the center cut out and your eggs fried inside). Select 3 items from the appropriate Tag Alongside list and you have a full breakfast. My 3 sides were hash browns, 3 slices of ham, and to go along with that, 3 slices of spam (ham & spam, they rhyme all the time!) Delivered on 2 plates, I enjoyed making the food disappear. I'll have to admit, I was nicely surprised this morning after arriving and finding 3 tables with dining patrons. I selected a table back and away from the windows, able to take in much of the restaurant from my vantage point. Adorning the walls were pictures of Detroit in the past - one of the Boblo boats, Detroit's famed train station in its heyday, Vernor's Street sign and iconic Gnome - all this and more, pleasant memories of the past. Also found up by the kitchen were items of use years ago - hand tabulation machines, a mini juke box, an old grocery scale, and others. Their electric bread slicer is purported to be the oldest of its kind, but is still put to daily use. Getting back to my dining experience, a group of people converged upon Old School Deli and ruined my tranquility. I ain't too smart, but there were 3 more people than I could count using all of my fingers, and they all seemed to fit around the large table near me (since this is old school, I suppose they were seated 'cafeteria style'). Perhaps my tranquility was replaced with a warmth easily felt whenever a departing patron rang the school bell on the way out the door. It slipped my mind to do so myself, so I'll do it now - ring, ring! Their parking lot could use a touch-up, but don't let that deter you from paying them a visit when they're open. I don't remember all of the details, but discounts are given to older folks and active duty military, and perhaps others. I'll return as a repeat customer.

I try the Italian style sandwiches pretty much everywhere I go and this is 2nd or 3rd out of the dozens that I've tried. Great! Nice bread basket. Handmade table-side Caesar salad $17 for four servings. Good French onion soup, chops and lobster tail. The sour cream for the baked potato contained fresh cut chive. Delicious. CONS: Weird parking, seating cramped like sardines. Saturday evening dining room was LOUD! Could barely converse. Food is expensive: Tomahawk steak $90+. Ribeye $55+. New York Strip $50+. Most everything was ala carte. Disappointed that the Sander's hot fudge cream puff did not contain hot fudge anywhere near the taste and quality of the old Sanders recipe. Cream puff was stale too. A strong seafood smell permeated the entire restaurant. SUMMARY: Mr. Paul's Chophouse is a REAL restaurant for those special occasions. Total East side. Food is very good but not "great". The fall out fries were the move over the regular fries. The serving size was enough for 2 people. The side salad was run-of-the-mill. I ordered a medium rare, 1/2 lb bison burger on a brioche bun with aged white cheddar, caramelized onions, and bourbon ketchup. It ending up being rare instead of medium rare, and had fried (crispy) onions instead of caramelized. My wife crafted her own mac and cheese. After confirming the "chicken bites" were fried, she ordered a bowl of mac with those, onions, cheddar, and velveeta. The chicken appeared to be grilled rather than fried, and the mac itself lacked any flavor. Considering the mac was $21, we definitely wouldn't order it again. To say the least, I wasn't surprised to hear World's End closed. Had it not, I would have given it another chance.

The Mac and cheese was a really good portion and the food we got was good. There were a ton of games alongside the windowsill in case you want to play. It was such a nice touch. There was a pirate vibe which fit the name really well. They do flights and had a great variety of mixed drinks. For a night out, this place would be good!
