Out left overs cause we demolished once the food hit the table

Our only regret is that we didn't come to Dough Boys on our first day! This was easily the best meal we had during our 3 days in Hilton Head. The cheesy bread was cheesy and sleezy, the meatballs melted in our mouths, the chopped Caesar salad was surprisingly perfect, and the White Pizza with Italian sausage and ricotta was ooey and gooey. We're honestly sad this was our last meal because if we'd found this place sooner, we would've been here for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, snacks, and a midnight snack too! If you're in Hilton Head, do yourself a favor and eat here. We can't wait to come back!

Delivered Pizza

Never again. We've ordered from Dough Boys every year for the past 5 years on our trips to HHI but our most recent experience will be our last. The primary issue is service, or lack thereof. We had a similar issue last year but gave them the benefit of the doubt. We won't make that mistake again. I placed a delivery order at 5 PM for 2 pizzas and mozzarella sticks. At 6:45, with no delivery made and the website simply showing "preparing", we attempted to call. At automated answer told us to remain on the line to be helped by the next person available. At 7:15PM, after 30 minutes of listening to canned music and repeated "stay on the line" messages, I gave up and decided to drive over to the store while my wife stayed on the line. Now nearly 2 1/2 hours after placing my order, the attitude at the storefront was clear - we neither are about your business nor do we have any idea what we are doing. First, they couldn't find my order. Once they found it, they couldn't figure out where my pizzas were. Were they in a hotbox? Out for delivery? Still unmade? They had no idea. Even worse, they made it clear that they felt it was unreasonable that I was even asking. "We are slammed" and "we only have 2 delivery drivers" was the response. I get that - it happens. But... a simple apology rather than excuses might be a better solution. Not once did the store workers give anything but excuses and they left a clear impression that they just didn't care. I mentioned that we'd been on the phone for 30 minutes to try to get an answer. "Oh, the phones were crazy so we turned them off" was the response. Off but left the "hold on the line" message running. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about Dough Boys, I don't know what would. Eventually, our pizzas were delivered. To no one's surprise, they were cold. And, as you can see in the picture, the toppings had slid off of half of the pizza long before. To top it all off, one of our pizzas was wrong. A cheese pizza for a person with allergies was loaded with toppings. However, since we now knew that the store had turned their phones off, there was no way to call and complain or ask for a refund. Convenient for them, I suppose, but the perfect ending to a miserable experience. There are too many other pizza options on the Island to risk having an experience like this. Pick another option.

Cheeseburger pizza, garlic knots, chicken wings, gluten free chicken pizza. Blue cheese dressing
Latonya J.

The garlic knots was hard. Perhaps over baked or old/reheated. The chicken wings tasted old / reheated, and the pizza was not flavorful. The dough for the gluten free bread was average, most gluten free pizzas have hard crust, no real problem there. But the crust to the non gluten free pizza was dry too! I was visiting the area and according to the reviews, most people recommend this place. I guess it's people who live here and are used to eating their pizza that way. Overall it was not horrible, but the price did not match the quality of the pizza and eating out has become understandably expensive so you want your money to be spent with good use. No complaints about the service. The place appeared take out only. It's located in a strip mall / shopping center. Best of luck if you try this place out.

Big Caruna pizza

We popped in an ordered a Big Caruna pizza (half pepperoni and half sausage with onion, ricotta and red pepper flakes). We decided to eat at one of the picnic tables outside in front. A friendly server brought us water and silverware. Our pizza came out pretty quick-maybe 10 minutes-and the 12" was the perfect size for the two of us. I had a bit of a preference for the sausage side but both sides were good. The thin crust had a faint tanginess adding some extra flavor. As we were only drinking water, the meal was under $20-a great value too

Big Caruna (sweet onion, half sausage/half pepperoni, ricotta, cheese, red sauce)

Another year. Another solid visit to Dough Boys for takeout pizza! We got Kim's Veggie (loaded with veggie goodness!) and the Big Caruna (we are a house divided in pepperoni vs. sausage so this is the perfect compromise). Delicious!

I wanted to order pizza for my group since they had gone on a long bike ride. I called and ordered several pizzas. I may have ordered too money but wow such good pizza. I don't normally get cheese only pizza but the cheese special pizza was amazing. I also got the chicken bacon ranch very good. And I can't remember the name but half pepperoni half sausage with peppers and onions. My favorite.

Loved their pizza. Ordered online for a pizza to go for a pizza and G&T sunset beach happy hour. Pizza was amazing and the owners were incredible. Highly recommend trying

The more flavorful of the two was the deep dish which was Detroit style with the sauce put on top, charred cup pepperoni... I had a deconstructed wedge salad, see photo. I ordered the X-Hot wings and 2 slices of pepperoni pizza. The others had spaghetti with meatballs. My wife had a chicken, bacon, ranch (maybe pita) Everything was very good and came out well prepared. The ranch has to be homemade because it was very delicious. The only down side was the spaghetti with meatballs came with very little sauce, which was quickly remedied by the waitress with extra sauce. The garlic bread was very good as well... Overall for a lunch this was a Great call!! The fact that the have pizza by the slices makes it very convenient for pizza lovers. I usually try 3-4 pizza places everywhere we go.. We would definitely return for another meal...

If you're a Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, or Pirates fan, you'll absolutely love the sports-themed décor. The walls are filled with memorabilia, and the TVs make it a fantastic place to catch a game while enjoying great food. I ordered the Sausage Weggie, and it was outstanding. The fresh-baked pizza dough wrapped around perfectly seasoned sausage, melted cheese, and toppings made for one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. You can tell everything is made fresh, and the quality really stands out. The service was friendly, the portions were generous, and the entire experience was exactly what you hope for when dining on vacation. Whether you're looking for incredible pizza, a delicious Weggie, or just a lively sports atmosphere, Giuseppi's delivers. We'll definitely make this a tradition every time we're back on Hilton Head Island. Highly recommended!

The pizza was horrible--honestly one of the worst I've had in years. We even looked at each other after a few bites wondering if we should just stop eating it altogether. The wings were breaded (not our preference for buffalo) and came with ranch instead of blue cheese--which may have been on us for not asking, but still surprising. The mozzarella sticks were crispy and probably the highlight of the meal... which says a lot. Overall, this was a reminder that pizza just isn't the move in Hilton Head--at least not here.

We visited Mangiamo's yesterday evening which happened to be our last night of vacation as a party of 11 (10 seats plus a baby in a high chair). We called about two hours ahead and were told the restaurant doesn't take reservations but that waits around 7:00 p.m. are usually only 15-20 minutes, which was no problem. We arrived around 6:45-6:50 and were seated immediately. The restaurant appeared moderately busy, with several other tables already eating and drinking, but it didn't seem unusually crowded. Unfortunately, after being seated, we waited more than 25 minutes without anyone greeting our table, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging us. After about 15 minutes, we let the hostess know no one had come to our table. She said she would let our server know, but after waiting another 10 minutes, still no one came. At that point, we told the hostess we were leaving. It was incredibly disappointing to sit for over 25 minutes without even a greeting or drink order, especially after notifying the staff that we'd been overlooked. We understand that restaurants get busy, but a simple acknowledgment or apology would have made a big difference. We ended up going down the street to New York City Pizza where we received exceptional service.

We ended up leaving the restaurant with the three pizzas and no salads at 8 pm. When we asked what happened, they told us that they'd "dropped our ticket on the ground." Only problem with that is I was staring straight at their digital ordering system on the wall with our name and order in a red box with a header that said "LATE." Here's the thing. They were super busy. Clearly overwhelmed. Didn't seem to have a manager or supervisor on staff, everyone seemed lost and disorganized and many of the other people getting takeout were frustrated which certainly was impacting the restaurant's speed and service. But when you're running an hour late after losing an order that costs over $140, it is on you as the restaurant to offer to throw in some extra appetizers, desserts, or a partial refund. None of that happened though, and we had to ask a non-manager, non-supervisor, overwhelmed employee if we could please refund the salads that never came out and if we could remove the tip that we had pre-added to the payment. ** we did get a $40 refund the next day** Also, you are a pizza place, in the summer, in a hot spot vacation destination. You have to expect to be busy on a Saturday night when the rental housing period begins for the week. The pizza was good in the end, but the organization / absence of any sort of leadership for a national chain franchise was astonishingly bad, and if you'd like your pizza to be ready for pickup, order for ASAP pickup rather than for a later time.
