I can see right away the new owners in 2023 are making this place shine above and beyond any cigar shop in Ventura county. I met Khalil this afternoon and he helped me with cigars and asked me some very insightful questions and heard my taste preferences. He found a few of what I was looking for and I am very pleased with the purchases. Khalil also worked in Spirits and has a very big breadth of knowledge about pairing with your favorite drink. I can't say enough positive things. If you are new to the cigar world, check out his binder with excellent taste profiles of each cigar. My review is for the walk-in humidor. I'm a long time cigar enthusiast, going back 20 years, so I'm not a newbie. I tend to buy online, but every once in a while, I go into local B&M's to support small businesses and maybe try something new. The truth is this place is your standard smoke / vape / gear shop that happens to have a walk in humidor. I I've been here 4 or 5 times and to their credit it does appear the humidor is restocked regularly, even with some newer stuff that enthusiasts would care about. However, there's two issues; one is the prices. Cigars will always be more expensive at a local shop, obviously due to overhead but also because they're usually cigar lounges; they offer you places to sit and watch the game, chat, or just spend some time relaxing in a comfortable place. Some even offer drinks and you get none of that here. You just get a local college kid serving as a clerk; it's a "buy-and-leave" type of set up so cigars really shouldn't be two or even three times a typical price. The second problem is the walk-in humidor itself. One of the cigars I bought last time was a La Flor Dominicana Colorado Oscuro that I smoked that day and five minutes in the wrapper was cracking almost immediately due to under-humidification. Now I know the humidor is humidified (I checked); but if the wrapper cracks as you're smoking it, it's usually because you're under 62% RH. Some shops will even store their cigars in humidified back rooms to stabilize after shipments arrive in order to avoid any under-humidification in the walk-in, but that isn't happening here. In short, it would be nice if Camarillo had a real cigar lounge where the prices were justified and the humidification was on point, but this just isn't it. read more

Small humidor, but manageable. My biggest issue is that there were a number of boxes on the shelf that were empty. It was expressed that this is due to supply considerations due to COVID, though at this point, that explanation does not seem to fit the lacking attention and consideration a humidor deserves. Having been smoking cigars for a great number of years and visiting countless shops and lounges, I'd be apprehensive to call this a cigar shop and more of a paraphernalia shop that has a walk-in humidor. I was told there were plans for the cigar side of the business and that the owner is looking for a way ahead, but honestly, an overhaul and rebranding may need to be a part of that conversation. As for humidity, layout, etc... humidity and temperature were decent though slightly cooler than necessary, boxes and shelves are arranged well and easy to navigate, as stated though, empty boxes are evident when attention to detail and concern are present. I bit high on pricing, but I've experienced worse. Purchased one stick that smoked the same evening. Overall humidity was okay, but more reminiscent of a stick shipped through the mail. Mild tunneling but consistent and flavorful. I'd be interested to visit again so long as some care was given to stock and fewer excuses. read more

Don't go here unless you speak the non-English language they understand. I spent 15 mins trying to get the worker(?) to understand the 3 words I was saying as I was 4 feet away, pointing to what I wanted. He definitely doesn't listen . To top it off! He refused to sell anything to me. People with anger issues shouldn't be allowed to work with the public unless they are at peace with their medication and dosage. I blame the owners for exposing customers to an unstable anger time bomb. read more
