I've not set foot in this store, but have had their donuts several times when brought in by co-workers or friends. Most of the time they are delicious...my favorite donut of all time is a custard filled chocolate iced donut. I've had it twice from here where the donut was so packed with custard it was falling apart..it was delicious. One time there was barely any custard and the donut was stale. Today my co-worker brought some in for breakfast, and there was not a custard one in the box (boooo). I got the jelly instead. Delicious, soft donut.....a teeny tiny sad squirt of jelly. Not even enough to be called a jelly donut, in my opinion. That was a let down. Overall I've had good products from this store, but have been let down twice. Maybe I've had a couple times of bad luck. My friends always say the prices here are good, though. read more

We were just walking around the shopping strip when BOOM, an amazing aroma stopped us in our tracks. This place has the best chocolate long johns. Reminded me of this mom and pop bakery in my old hometown. We tried the traditional and chocolate and plan to go back tomorrow to test out the Carmel. I have made donuts for 20 years. Now I do it as a hobby.. When I don't feel like making donuts, but want donuts. I go to Old Town Donuts in Cottleville.. I know I live in O'Fallon and live 4 blocks from a donut shop. But that donut shop's donuts have a after taste.. I tried Old Town Donuts 3 times now and have found they are worth the drive from O'Fallon. I have had their Custard, Old Fashion, Chocolate Cake, Yellow Cake, and a Cream Donut.. All were Outstanding, not greasy or any after taste.. Just a great donuts!! Well worth the drive!! read more

Alright so I know that showing up to an establishment minutes before closing is a bitch but so was the girl working the counter at this place. They had 4 minutes till closing and I swear she saw our headlights and turned off the open sign. We walked to the door hoping maybe with a few minutes left they'd help one last customer. Nope she kept her head down and pretended that she didn't see us try and open the door. Then as we started to walk away both her and the guy in the back looked right up at us. I know you want to get home but you're on the clock and a little customer service goes a long way all though these people apparently don't know what that is. read more

Super great donuts! The cherry was fabulous and the pumpkin was very tasty. We also had long johns, the original, classic glazed and cake. I was here on a sunday at about 11:30 am and they had a large selection and variety of available donuts. All of them were freshly cook and the staff was exceptionally friendly. I enjoyed the location in florissant growing up and now that i live in St Peters I can enjoy them again without the drive! read more

Oh my, oh my, these donuts are so good! We went for Mother's Day, we hadn't eaten their donuts for years, when we lived in Florissant in the 80's. They are light and delicious, and a great variety! The size of these donuts are large and texture is light. There is a chain competitor that just opened down the street, don't bother. Old Town Donuts beat them hands down. Oh and ronoco coffee for $1.69. I had a wonderful Mother's Day breakfast! read more

We are new to the St. Louis/St. Charles area and this was the first donut shop we tried! My boys LOVE it here. They ask to visit every time they get out of school. They are very reasonably priced and their Monday special is a steal! So glad we found this gem! read more

Hate to give this place a great review because I want it to stay my secret place, but I can't do it. I usually go in at night and they still have a great selection of donuts anytime I've been in. It's hard to find donut shops that are open past brunch hours, needless to say still have their full variety available those hours. Love this place. read more

Delicious donuts!!! From the cream filled to the old fashioned to the custard(best custard I've had) to the blueberry and of course the original glazed and donut holes. This is by far the best donut shop that I have been to. We usually go just about every Sunday and we are never let down. They are consistent from week to week and we couldn't ask for more. Absolute perfection !!!! I have never had a bad doughnut here but I will say that their old fashioned is by far the beat doughnut ever. There is another place that was voted one of the best in the nation. I say NO WAY!! I have been there just today as a matter of fact and they can't compare to Old Town!! I really like the donuts here. However their customer service in general is terribly inconsistent with young kids helping behind the counter who have an attitude or arriving at 8:00am on a SATURDAY morning with literally 2 selections of donuts remaining because they weren't prepared for a larger party to show up before us and subsequently wiping out most of the donuts. On a Saturday morning you should have enough donuts made for a crowd and a continuous one for the entire morning rush. Additionally when walking in to select from scraps no one says a word! Not we apologize there's nothing left, we're making more, nothing. It's unfortunately what happens sometimes when you see a business that knows they have a good product so they have a little care or 'want to' regarding how they run their business and provide for their customers. This is a cool donut shop with great donuts. Went for a late night donut and was surprised it was fresh. Got the cake donut which was delicious, not too sweet and took a bite of my friends bacon caramel donut which was good but a bit too much. read more

Good donuts. Massive Jelly donuts...Wish they were open 24-7 like the original one in Florissant though; but even White Castle in Cottleville is shut down by Midnight... Their donuts here are kinda heavy in comparison to other places, but still pretty decent, and they don't skimp on the jelly filling. read more

Excellent donuts. Great variety, staff is always friendly and quick. Get there before 7:30am on the weekends for best selection (similar to my First Watch review:-) We've never had a bad experience or bad donuts there. I don't like their doughnuts, they are heavy and bread-like compared to the lighter, fluffier doughnuts I've had other places. Kind of like cheap rolls from the grocery store but with glazes and icings. read more

I started going here about a year and a half ago. I was very surprised to find that they offered fresh basic donuts but that they also had some unique creations. I absolutely love they german chocolate cake dount, however lately they have not had it in stock. When I ask why they stopped making them I was told that they still make it, just not every day. I'm sorry but I don't think it's healthy to go to a donut store every day to see if you are making my one donut that morning. Please be consistent so that your customers know when to stop by to get what they want. This past week I stopped in, again no german chocolate so I got a jelly filled. After taking one bite the inside cake was orange and stale. Why it was orange I have no idea but it did not taste good at all. Bottom line is that you have a 50/50 chance of enjoying a wonderful donut or a dud. Quality control please. read more

3-28-13 Tried to visit the new Mid Rivers location this evening. Have been wanting to try these highly acclaimed donuts for some time. Checked the web site and the home page says the Mid Rivers location is open from 5AM -10 PM daily. So, hubby and I got in the car. Arrived at 9:10 PM. Doors were locked. Clerk inside ignored my knocking on the glass door. Knocked again, more loudly, and clerk did unlock the door. I told her the web site says they are supposed to be open until 10PM daily. She said, "I will let the owners know." So, buyer beware - better call first to verify the hours before you get in the car and drive there. read more

This donut shop is okay. The price are a little high but not crazy. I find the doughnuts to be heavy and doughy as well as any glaze is kind of little. Not saying they are bad but I've had better. read more

This had been my favorite all time Doughnut Shop and I pass a few to get to it--never have had a problem before and have done large orders several times. This time was so bad that I will not use them again for a large order. I don't mind coming in to pick them out myself and see what I am getting--but, would NOT recommend that you pre-order your doughnuts. I placed an order for the Welcome Breakfast for the teachers at Bryan Middle School and needed 5 dozen MIXED doughnuts. I trusted them because I have used them on other occasions. I never checked the boxes. As I was setting up my items I found ONE and a HALF Dozen Plain Glazed Doughnuts out of 5 Dozen. That is like getting 4 plain glazed doughnuts if you asked for a dozen mixed. REALLY--for teachers??? Maybe for kids--but, not what i wanted to serve my teachers. Plus, the variety of the cake doughnuts wasn't even the normal favorites--like blueberry and stuff. And lastly they were not what I would say is fresh. I'm not sure--but, they didn't look like my normal orders. When I went back to clean up at the end of the day there were still 11 1/2 plain glazed doughnuts sitting on the tray. So, I STOPPED by to talk to someone--that day (8/8). They took my information and said someone would contact me. Never happened--so, I went to their web site and sent a CONTACT US EMAIL. I got an automated reply saying that someone would get in touch with me and also a copy of my email. I have not heard from anyone and so I am writing this to explain my 2 star rating. read more

The donuts were OK, but nothing particularly special. They were busy and the line moved efficiently (a la soup nazi) until it got to me. The only things labeled were some almond donut holes and apple fritters. I had no idea what anything was and there was no list telling me what they had either! I could feel the contempt of the other customers as their toes tapped and their eyes rolled waiting for me to find out if the powdered sugar covered donut was lemon filled, raspberry, snozberry, or apple. I started to feel panicked as I fully believe that the regular patrons were about to trample me. So, to have just an everyday donut, equivalent to a grocery store bakery one, was extremely disappointing. However, they were fresh, tasty, and really affordable. Oh! I should mention that the way they stacked them in the box caused chocolate to get all over the bottom of the next donut. I may go back, if in the area, but I doubt I will make a special trip. read more
