Ordered a medium pizza last night and something in the taste was off it was not as good as it normally is, has something changed?

Ordered pickup from the Old Town Pizza yesterday for dinner! Customer service was friendly and the food was ready for pickup in 35 minutes. Standard pizza shop ambiance with low lights. I ordered a large thin crust cheese pizza half cheese and half jalapeños along with an order of breadsticks that came with marinara sauce. The pizza and the breadsticks were decent. read more

This place has really gone downhill lately. I've been a customer for at least 9 years, but my last order will be just that - my last order. The last 2 orders both had missing items. Attempts to contact them went unanswered and requests for refunds ignored. The last time the delivery driver admitted the item was left behind and said he would return with it right away. OTP has a high quality thick crust slice of pizza--very large--for $5. The crust (4/5) is thick and chewy--very good. This is not deep dish pizza. The cheese (4/5) is very generous and the taste is above average. The sauce (3/5) was tomatoee, not great but good. The sausage (5/5) was definitely the highlight of the experience! Overall, highly recommended. You can get better pizza, but I haven't had too many better slices : ) read more

This place says they close at 10pm, but they canceled my order placed at 8:30pm without any notification. I waited around expecting my food, only to find out it was canceled. Horrible customer service and extremely unprofessional. No problem charging me card and making wait for a refund. I won't be ordering from here again. read more

Pizza Quest 2025 has certainly had its ups & downs, with this place falling somewhere in the middle. Standard pizza with "meh" sausage, sauce, cheese and only moderately thin crust My pie was quite a bit undercooked, so IF I order again, I'd definitely request well-done. read more

I ordered a large garlic pizza, pepperoni on top of the cheese one half, sausage the other half, pie cut, and a house salad. I get the pizza, check it out, and the pepperoni is not on top of the cheese. I asked why was that? Three amigos walk out to the front counter from the kitchen and tell me they don't put pepperoni on top of the cheese because it will burn the pizza. I have NEVER heard of such a thing!!! I rather you tell me that "We are lazy, didn't read the instructions and don't feel like making you another pizza." At least that way you would be honest. Also, if you want to be in shape for any 5K, 10K or marathon the night before the race, make sure to get this pizza because from the diarrhea I received I was running all morning!!! Ordered Eggplant parm for delivery. Charged my credit card without a problem but order didn't arrive. I called when it was 30 minutes late and they said they were busy and having trouble with drivers but it was on its way. Called again 30 minutes later and spoke with 2 people, the 2nd guy was rude, condescending and told me to stop being angry so that he could help me. But he had no interest in helping, just said that the guy I had talked to didn't put the order in after all, and he could do it now. A full hour and a half after I placed the order, received two confirmation emails and my credit card was charged, he wants to put an order in. Whoever is the manager at the Lombard store on Sunday, May 5th needs a lesson in customer care, service and obviously, management. I declined his offer to put the order in...again. Now I have to try to get a refund. read more

2 hours, several phone calls and still, no order. It's just not that difficult to get an order, cook a pizza and deliver it.

Not to shabby. I asked for my pizza well done and the crust was nice and crisp not soggy. Overall a better than average pizza.

Good pizza but not the friendliest customer service. I ordered a pizza for pick up using their app and arrived to pick it up when the app estimated it would be done. When I got there the order never made it back to the chef because their machine didn't print the ticket. I ended up having to wait another 35 minutes for them to make it. They wouldn't even apologize for making me wait. The guy who must be the manager blamed it on THEIR ticket machine and asked me what I wanted from them. He apologized condescendingly when I asked for one. Good food (kinda expensive), but there's other pizza places in the area I'll check out next instead of spending money at a spot that doesn't really care about its customers. read more

Normally I'd move on, but the more I thought about my interaction today, the more I realized this place doesn't really care about their customers. It could have been handled by simply saying, sorry, we'll get you a new one instead of answering back in a condescending manner! Apparently "plain"does not mean plain. Per who I think might be the manager, you have to specify "no cheese" for a chicken sandwich if you don't want cheese... just a helpful tip for everyone. read more

Old Town Pizza has always been our local favorite. Pizza, Eggplant Parm and Lasagna have been our go to items. Other places come and go and we may get sidetracked but always come back to Old Town. Consistency, taste and value are proof of why they are a staple in Lombard. read more

I love old town I usually have no issue with them. Pizza and food is great but tonight when I sent my daughter to pick up the pizza she was met with a very rude attendant at the register., getting upset over change. Slamming his register and saying he don't have time for this shit. If you aren't happy with your job , change jobs because it's obvious customer service isn't for you. read more

Stopped in here last night to grab some quick grub for dinner. I ordered an Italian beef, a slice of pizza with a can of pop. My total was $17.05. Something told me that was a tad high, but I'm not great at head math so I figured the receipt would make sense of it. The receipt didn't have a tally on it, so I asked the guy behind the counter if I was charged for something extra. He told me my sandwich was $8.50. The large menu affixed to the counter that I ordered from lists the price as $7.50. He off-handedly says "We gotta update that". He mumbles the rest and says something about tax. Even with tax, $8.50 + $5.75 for the slice and drink doesn't equal $17. I didn't feel like going through it. I wanted to go home and eat. I called back and spoke to the manager. I asked for a breakdown because there's no way tax should be 20%. Come to find out the sweet peppers were $.75 extra. The slice and the pop were $5.75 according to the signage in the store. The manager told me that the pop went up from $1.00 to $1.50. With that explanation, the total made sense. Although there are no policies to enforce it, I truly believe that you need to let customers know if prices have changed from what is posted or if they are going to charge extra for something. Nobody likes being nickeled and dimed, especially in this COVID-19 economy. Was the food worth it? The sandwich was fine. The meat had a nice flavor. I ordered it "dipped" but I guess they don't know what that means in the burbs. The pizza slice was big but it was salty as all hell. It had a hard and crunchy crust, but not in a good way. The manager was nice enough when I spoke to him over the phone. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it does reflect a recent culture shift in mom and pop businesses. It seems like they take your patronage for granted and they expect you to be happy with whatever they decide to give you. That's the way of the world, I guess. read more

It was my first time visiting this place. Old Town Pizza is one of the most visited places here in this area. Their spot is always busy and lots of their customers keep coming back again and again just for their famous pizza. Their menu is huge and they have a variety of pizza flavors and other comfort foods. They have Deep dish pizza, Chicago-style pizza, Double dough pizza, and their popular Sicilian-style stuffed pizza. Everything was on point and made to perfection. Fantastic! They also have sandwiches, chicken wings, wraps, salads, pasta, and others. Very huge menu! No wonder why this place is very busy. Their customers keep coming over and over. Old Town Pizza is absolutely a must! Their employees were so friendly, helpful, attentive, and decent. All of them are working so fast and serving all the orders quickly. They all treat the customers right. Kudos to all of them! This is definitely my new favorite place to go here in Lombard. Looking forward to visiting this place again next time with my friends and family. Will also continue to recommend this place to all the people I know. Stopped in for a slice during the week. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious and fresh it was. This is a cheese lovers pizza. Slices are tricky in the burbs as they don't turn as fast. This usually results in a soggy crust where the sauce gets lost into the dough. The double dough crust is always an awesome touch and makes any pizza better. The dough was a flour based crust that had a nice crispy bottom and a soft bite. It's on the thicker side of a traditional NY style. This is definitely a Chicago slice. This is gem in the burbs. Good thin-crust pizza. What makes it tasty is the quality cheese and the thin crust. Although, next time I'd try to order it without the oregano, which was a bit overpowering. Not too greasy, delivered hot and scrumptious. Cinnamon bites were also ok...kind of like little cinnamon cheese(less) curds with icing to either drizzle over or dip into. Good recommendation and nice to experience a different round-bread-cheese-and-tomato dish. Decent. read more

Only had the Pizza from here once, they serve damn good Pizza in my opinion. My former favorite was Uncle Pete's Westmont which sadly is now closed. Second favorite Lou Malnati's. We had the Butcher Block Pizza and it was delicious. This captures many of the similar flavors as Uncle Pete's , this is a very different type of Pizza than Lou's, closer to Uncle Pete's but on par with my taste with excellent flavor. I only took one star for price, with tax & delivery for an 18" looking at ~$40 but it is worth it. I'd give 4&1/2 if it were an option. Will be a regular spot for us. read more

We knew the pizza carryout was solid, having indulged semi-regularly, but it turns out the rest of the menu is pretty tasty as well. We had a day where we were torn between fried chicken and pizza for dinner, and so I turned to Old Town and ordered both! I got a medium half-cheese, half-pepperoni pizza, and an eight-piece chicken dinner that came with fries and garlic bread. (My husband saw the spread and said "wow, you really couldn't decide.") The pizza, we knew was solid. It doesn't blow me away, but it's a good 3.5-4 star pizza with the right amount of cheese, good topping coverage and a solid crust. The fried chicken was a pleasant surprise -- I thought it would be good, but it was borderline great. I'm not sure what they do to it, but the skin was very crunchy-crispy, mildly seasoned, with great juicy meat. The fries were skin-on and yummy although a bit limp from being steamed a bit before we got to them. The garlic bread was basically just one of their sandwich rolls with garlic butter, but hey, who's complaining? While Old Town was always a good go-to for solid takeout pizza, I think we'll need to explore more of their menu now, including that very tasty fried chicken! read more

My wife and I were fans of Bona Pizza, which was located downtown for decades until finally closing up at the beginning of 2012. Perhaps we should've looked at the decrepit conditions of the back room of the place, but instead we closed our eyes and ate the tasty reasonably-priced pizza. Without Bona, we needed a new place, and we won't patronize Gianorio's for a reason that's political in nature so I won't share it here. It's not overly loud at Old Town Pizza and it does have a TV (to contradict what it says on the listing here), but you'd never take your family there for dinner. It's a delivery and take-out place, though you can grab a seat for a quick lunch. We ordered a large thin crust with spinach, pepperoni and feta cheese, using a $2 coupon available on their web site. Though my pick-up order took a little longer than they claimed it would, the results were very good. Old Town's thin crust pieces aren't the kind that'll sag while you're holding it, making it a balancing act to eat the piece without cheese sliding off the crust and onto your shirt. Nope, this crust holds firm, and we were quite happy with the tastiness of the toppings. Unlike cheap places - you know, the five-bucks-for-a-hot-and-fresh-pizza kind - I did not taste any cheapness in the ingredients. It seems like they make good pizza at a reasonable price, and when we decide to eat pizza of the non-frozen variety, that's exactly what we're looking for. This will likely be our go-to pizza place now. We have to try their deep dish at least once. Now, if only Old Town Pizza would actually move to the old town part of Lombard, instead of a strip mall on Roosevelt Road. I hear Bona's location is open... read more

I really like this restaurant and it's frequently the first choice for my family if we order food for delivery. The prices are reasonable, the food is decent and delivery is prompt. The order always arrives hot and so far they've never messed our order up. Their delivery folks are very pleasant as well. In fact, the lady that delivered our order tonight grabbed my paper at the end of the driveway and brought it up with our food. :) read more

Last week my students made some tremendous gains with their reading progress, so I decided we should celebrate their hard work and achievements and have a pizza party. To be honest, I didn't look to Old Town as my first choice...or second. Or maybe even third... You see, I haven't been incredibly impressed with the Old Town down the street from me (McHenry), especially since The Change took effect. At first, I looked up some Yelp reviews and attempted to order from a different highly-rated pizza joint down the street. When I spoke to the girl on the phone, she was kind of short with me and told me that they wouldn't deliver before 4pm. Unfortunately I can't leave my classroom to drive 1.5 miles down the street for pizza. There went that idea. I figured, alright... I'll just call Old Town. I mean, I'm feeding KIDS, and they're not going to be terribly picky about their pizza. It's PIZZA for gosh sakes! And they're right down the street; hopefully they'll deliver. The girl who answered the phone was very friendly and gladly took my order for the next day. When I mentioned that I had a coupon, she informed me that Old Town gives the school a discount. Fabulous! (If you know teenage boys, you know they can eat!) She already knew where I was calling from and asked which door I'd want the pizza delivered to. I also asked them to deliver the pizza at 10:30, which she said wasn't a problem. The next day I went a little early to meet the pizza delivery person at the door - he was already there! Early! Since when does that happen?! (Last time I ordered pizza from the Pizza Hut down the street, they were twenty minutes LATE and then blamed ME for not writing the school's name in the online order form!) So anyway, on to the pizza: it was piping HOT, fresh, tasty...the crust was nice and crispy... I ordered 2 XL to feed 5, and we only had 6 or so pieces left over. I was pretty impressed with the service, positive attitude, punctuality, and quality of pizza from Old Town. I will definitely order from them in the future! I've ordered from here before and was always happy... except Sunday night happened and I don't think I'll order from here again. I ordered a simple deep dish cheese pizza. When I cut into it, expecting ooey gooey cheese.... i just got lumps of tomato sauce. There was hardly any cheese on this pizza. It didn't help that the pizza was also 10 minutes late....but that's not the important issue. I seriously think they forgot to put the cheese on this pizza. It was awful. read more

I hope the owner of this establishment will read this review. Your employees are wonderful. They provide excellent service. I called in my order for my favorite...buffalo chicken salad. When I arrived, it was not ready. It was very cold and I left my car running because my puppy was riding shot gun with me. Anyhow, I went back to my car and waited. The employee brought the order to my car. Small gesture, but thoughtful. Service like this is rare. read more
