Sausage and Onion Extra Thin Pizza
    Tom R.

Overall Gianorio's was excellent and worth the hype of being one of the best Chicago tavern style pizza options. We ordered on a Saturday night at 6:00 and the pizza was ready for pick up in 35 minutes. It was a large extra thin, sausage and onion cooked well done. The customer service on the phone to the pickup was excellent and friendly and the outcome of the pizza was exceptional.

First a review of their frozen pizzas. Perfect. $8-10 range with a half a dozen or so styles. Always in the freezer up front. Quick to cook and tastes much better than anything you're getting from the Jewels. Second the fresh pizza is better. Solid thin crust but go for the extra thin. Really the only downfall is the lack of delivery, if they delivered, no one in Lombard or Villa would stand a chance.

Ok, Wow, Wow, Wow. I don't know what to say. I have been eating pizza my entire life. I estimate by my calculations I have eaten about 600 pizzas. I am extremely critical of the pizza I eat and who I order from. I was in the Lombard area ( visiting relatives I don't like) and took a chance at this place. Hands down it is the best thin crust pizza I have ever had. Yes EVER had. Great staff, great service, and outstanding pizza made in an authentic oven by people who know how to make a great pizza. When I picked up the box I could tell it was something special and the smell in the car on the way back was almost irresistible. When you have passion for what you do as a business and you have quality people and use fresh ingredients you create something special. I am writing this review the morning after enjoying the pizza that we ordered last night with green olives and mushrooms. It is such a good pizza just writing this review is making my mouth water so I just finished all the leftovers. Also, I am now less reluctant to come visit my relatives in Lombard because now I can also get this great pizza. Thanks to the entire staff for making such a great pizza and proving that there is great pizza outside the Chicago city limits.

Small meat pizza with regular crust!

This pizza was spectacular! I was in town on business and randomly chose Gianorio's Pizza. It was a great choice! I ordered the small meat pizza with regular crust. The crust was wonderful and all of the ingredients were fresh. Needless to say, I was unable to eat it all, the pizza made the trip back to my hometown for lunch. Super nice and helpful staff! Next time I am in town on business, I will order again!

Extra thin, well done cheese and sausage pizza.

Not really worth the wait for what you get. Adding a topping or two gets really pricey. Would rather go elsewhere.

The price point was on the high side for us but not out-of-reach. We arrived and was immediately sat in the bar; in fact, everyone is sat in the bar. The dining room has about twenty tables, and they were two tables being used; the bar also had about twenty tables and every table was sat. I asked the waiter and they do sit the bar area first and overflow into the dining room. With the bar area at near capacity and all hard surfaces it was very loud. The dining room had carpet floor and a coffered beamed ceiling it was tremendously quiet. If you want the energy of a crowded restaurant the bar is great, the dinning rom is a more upscale experience.  We started with Calamari Friiti, that is the title of the dish. In smaller print the description is Crispy Fried Calamari, Zucchini,  and herbs. What was served was 70% NOT Calamari but thin fried zucchini strips, fried rosemary (literally the twig of rosemary in batter and fried), and fried thyme (the thyme was removed from the twig so I could not even find it., but the waiter said it was there. At $19  expected more Calamari at least 60%, after all the dish was not called "fried herbs and Calamari". Our table had Spaghetti and Meatballs at $24, the Stuffed Pork Chop special (with Broccoli Rabe) at $27, and I had the Eggplant Parmigiana at $20. I get eggplant Parmesan a lot, it is my favorite Italian dish. $20 is high for eggplant Parmesan, I prefer my eggplant thinly sliced and fried. This is more three eggplant steaks with cheese and red gravy. Not my personal favorite but good. The pasta was so unusual I had to ask about it; the waiter said it is made from scratch in house but the shape in an Italian grocery store would be casarecce. I thought $24 for Spaghetti and Meatballs high but my husband said the Meatballs were excellent. Finally, $27 for one Stuffed Pork Chop also seemed high but it tasted great, the garlic white wine sauce made a tasty glaze. We ordered Tiramisu for the table and one person got the blueberry sorbet. I found the Tiramisu traditional and another person thought the mascarpone cheese was whipped too much. I read a several reviews, most of the reviewers praised the service as outstanding; we found our server disappearing for 30 - 40 minutes; we had to call someone over to order desert and another to get the check.

This is a really small restaurant, so I would make reservations just to be safe. Immediately after being seated, we were brought delicious bread and butter, and water. We ordered drinks, which came out very quickly. We ordered Pappardelle Bolognese, Linguine Volpole (fresh clams), and Lasagna. The entrees were served with either soup (Minestrone), or Salad. The salad was fresh, and was served with a delicious Ranch dressing. The Minestrone was chock full of fresh vegetables, and was very good. It was served hot...and was clearly homemade. All three of the entrees were beyond delicious. The Lasagna was the best I've ever had. We split a Tiramisu for dessert. It was very good, but it was served layered in a glass vs being served on a plate or in a bowl, so it made sharing very difficult. The prices were reasonable; our entrees were between $24-$30. The Tiramisu was a little pricey @ $9. Service was impeccable. Note there is no parking lot, so street or public parking only. We had no trouble finding a spot, but that might be different on a weekend night. I highly recommend Made In Italy Trattoria.

My husband and I went for an early dinner, didn't have reservations, it was just us two. We were told an approx 10 min wait, which was fine. As we waited, we noticed a few empty booths for two in the bar - we asked to be seated, and they said of course. Very pleasant front end staff. Problem began with our phantom server, waited a while til someone approached us. No water, no menus, no server. Finally after almost 20 min, the server appeared, he seemed very frazzled. Spoke quickly. We asked for a menu, water, silverware & napkins. At almost 30 minutes, we finally ordered our entrees. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo, and my husband ordered Arrabbiata Sauce w/spaghetti which came with a small side salad or soup. I chose soup, and my husband had a side salad. And we asked for some bread for the table. We waited another 20 minutes for our salad and soup, and I was given a tsp for the soup, all things considered, it was good. We saw the server twice while we were there, appeared very pre-occupied. The kitchen staff served our pasta meals. My husband said his was good, my Fettuccine Alfredo was also good, but very Al dente. Meantime, still waiting for bread .... All in all, it was a good meal, sometimes servers can make or break it! This individual really needs more training, or a different position. He made our experience very frustrating! But we will definitely give Labriola another chance!

We had a late lunch or early dinner on a weekend. Restaurant had other diners but it was slow. We ordered appetizers of cheesy garlic bread & fried calamari. When our server greeted us and asked how we were, we asked how he was doing in return, and he responded that he "could be better." While honesty is fine, it wasn't the best way to begin a dining experience. He appeared slow-moving and unwell throughout the meal, which honestly made us uncomfortable and less confident about the food we were eating. We couldn't help but wonder if he was sick--or possibly just recovering from New Year's Eve festivities--but either way, it impacted the experience. We ordered the chicken carbonara and the spicy shrimp penne, and it pains me to say this, but the food was mid at best. I genuinely feel like I would have enjoyed both the food and the service more had we gone to Olive Garden instead, which isn't something I say lightly. Since it was our first visit, I also expected a bit more guidance. The server knew it was our first time dining there, yet didn't explain the layout or how to exit the restaurant. When it came time to leave, I wasn't sure whether we were supposed to exit the same way we entered--through the kitchen--or navigate the maze-like dining room to find another way out. Overall, it just wasn't a great dining experience, and it's not how I would have chosen to start my first meal out in 2026. Disappointing all around.

Even packed up the leftovers- did a great job Food (A-) I got the combination plate and it tasted exactly how it did 20 years ago. This is both a positive and a negative. Taste was excellent - especially the lamb, meatballs and sauce over the rice and dolmas. Great portion size also. Will get stuff. Came with potatoes and veggies. On the negative it tasted very heavy. I was expecting it to be "lighter". Not sure I am describing it correctly. I am going to order it again as it's excellent but I think I am eating a ton of butter and or oil. Maybe I am not but something gave it the heavy feel. Also with bread service - I appreciate they provide it but feels very 90s. Thr bread was okay and the butter was the small little packages of butter. So I really do like this place and am being overly critical so I would strongly recommend going for a safe bet Greek place. My recommendations for them 1. Too many options on the menu - need to skinny it down 2. Higher quality bread and butter 3. An actual simple lunch menu.
