I am so grateful I found her from me because I was going too far all the way to Fullerton to see an eye doctor. I came into this spot looking to have some frames adjusted because they were a bit bent and did not sit correctly on my face (one nose pad would be uncomfortable and sort of dig in if ya know what I mean) I was very politely helped out and never felt like I was an inconvenience. Even though I was not a patient at this store, they were happy to help me and did not charge me for the frame adjustment. I had my eyes examined and purchased prescription glasses for insurance $$$+out of pocket $$$ from this Old Town Tustin Eyecare, Jan.2024. (Expensive place) overly sophisticated, and overly priced. Still I convinced my self. Now (Dec.2024) my glasses got damaged, I went to a different optometry for glasses, as it is 100% out of my pocket cost, I wanted to stay within my budget. So I called this place twice, and staff member (2 different) had same attitude and reply, as I wanted my prescription (which they emailed) but will not give NPI number, with different reasons giving me hard time and run around. Instead of being helpful, they think (probably that's how their staff is trained) they are the only one, arrogant and intimidating. I was going next year for new prescription with my wife also ( but noway Joze). I would advise anyone, not to go there, unless you are extravagantly rich, or are mellow and dull-witted and can sustain intimidation. IN STERN WORDS: AVOID GOING TO THIS OPTOMETRY. Everything about this place was so nice! From the facility to the people working there, and even the optometrist on site who I didn't need to directly interact with but still smiled and was friendly. I went in because my toddler got a hold of my designer sunglasses and twisted it in a way I didn't know a toddler could even be capable of. I live in old town and yelped the closest glasses repair/shop and found this place. I went in expecting a small mom and pops place, which it was but was even better than I anticipated. Super clean, accessible location even in the middle of the hustle and bustle of old town and was very organized. The receptionist was very nice and asked me what I was there for, and asked me if the glasses in question were purchased through them. I told them no and I needed repair, and she examined it and told me she would get the tech's opinion on it because it looked pretty bad (which it was, and a part of me actually thought it was game over because of the damage my child did) and gave me a disclaimer that they may or may not be able to repair it, and if it was ok with me, they could try but it might snap and break completely. I told them it was fine, since it's either we try or I can't use them ever again anyway. I really appreciated their transparency about it. 5 minutes passed and the tech came over and was able to fix it! I actually had to remind to pay for the repair fee ($15 bucks, such a good price) because she thought I purchased it with them and treated me with complete trust. After paying, I was on my way. I truly didn't expect there was hope to fixing my glasses and thought i might even need to leave it with them because they were in bad shape. It was done in 5 mins! Next time I need anything eye related, I am definitely coming back here to support them. read more

We are sorry to write this bad review for Old Town Tustin Eye Care as we had the worst experience with them. We visited for Regular eye exams and regular reading eye glasses which are covered by our Medical Insurance and this care center is one of the providers as well. After getting our eye prescription from them we visited again to get Eye glasses , including the frame, which are all covered under our Insurance and we DO NOT have to pay anything xtra at all, moreover we confirmed all these with their staff as well. Surprisingly when We wanted to place the order, the staff insisted for the Insurance ($78.00 ) which we refused and asked the to proceed with our order. Than she demanded a payment of 197.50 for our order, bluntly saying that they do not take this Anthem Mediblue Select Insurance Even though their name is printed under the name of Dr, David Brown as the provider and in charge of this eye care center. SO , we had to leave their office as we did not want to pay these unwanted and unauthorized payments. So to everyone, please be careful when you visit any optometrist or eye care center to prevent these type of centers. Thanks. read more

Best optometrist place I have ever been to. 1) all the staff is very friendly 2) gave me 0 pressure to look at their glasses at all. Always left it up to me when to come back if I wanted to. Gave me the price of the glasses with no pressure 3) they only seem to go by appointment so you don't get screwed waiting for an hour even though you made an appt. 4) they do not charge to check for blue eye damage. This is normally $40 bux. 5) they are very up to date with technology and texting to confirm appts Wish my wife went here instead but I took her to a really bad place and got so frustrated that I found this place. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Brown for about 10 years since his office was located near UCI. I wear hard contact lenses, and Dr. Brown is thorough with each annual visit about seeing if there are any improvements in terms of fitting comfort as well as lens strength that he can incorporate into his contact lens prescription. He also keeps up with the latest in technology and has provided me more experimental contact lens to try out in the past. Other than being a trusted professional, Dr. Brown is one of the nicest people you will meet who truly cares about the eyesight of his patients. He is always patient and will not let me leave until he has responded to the many questions I give him. Brown has been my optometrist since his days in Irvine. Since then, he has moved his office to Tustin. He always writes little notes about me after every appointment, it's a nice personal touch. It's nice that he remembers what happened during our last appointment even if it was over a year ago. I do like the fact that he is on the younger side and is up to date with technology and news within his field. My only complaint is they hire a third party to call me to remind me about my yearly check up. This can get tedious. They will call you again after you miss the call the first time around. read more

Dr. Kim Uyen T. Coloma updated my prescription and wow! I was really just going in to get my yearly exam out of due diligence and wasn't planning on buying new lenses as long as the prescription wasn't too far off. She spent a good amount of time with me in the appointment to fully understand what lens correction my eyes needed. She explained a lot and helped me better understand my eyes and how they work together. At the end of the appointment, Dr. Coloma had me try on the lenses I walked in with and then the prescription she recommended and it was like I was seeing for the first time! I now have the prescription glasses I ordered through the office which were completed very quickly. My vision with my new prescription is stellar and I am so thankful for the adjustment. They really try to up sell every product. It became very annoying and I was extremely turned off. They also mentioned a rebate that we would get but they failed to mention that it must be within 90 days of the exam. They only mentioned it when I picked up the lenses. One employee tells me we would get a rebate the next tells me I am too late. They don't seem to be on the same page. I started going here 20 years ago when Dr. Stanford was the sole practioner. Last year was my first experience with Dr. Brown. The new team has brought modern technology and practices to the office. My latest visit was July 12, 2015 and was much the same as my first visit the year before. The staff are well versed in the modern technology that has been implemented. Several machines are used to measure every aspect of vision and eye healthcare prior to the actual exam. If I have a complaint it would be that some of the staff members are a bit condescending and patronizing. At 61, I don't need fake people and I expect staff in any healthcare office to treat me like I am helping to pay their salary, not like I am an added burden to their socializing. Nonetheless, the pre-exam was as thorough as Dr. Brown was with the exam. Getting contacts was never easier and he was looking out for my pocketbook as much as my vision health. Insurance and contact rebates kept out of pocket expenses to a minimum. If you want first class service and don't mind an occasional attitude from a staff member (I certainly didn't), Dr. brown and Old Town Tustin Eyecare will certainly satisfy your vision needs. read more

Just maybe this old man might know his lens strength. I told you exactly what it was. It wasn't my cars vin number . It was simply 150/300. Wow,that is really hard to remember! Second rule. If it works don't fix it! When a 61 year old patient tells you he loves the prescription of the glasses he has had for the last 3 years--let him keep it!.Don't sit and and argue with him about how much he needs a stronger prescription and how much better off he will be. Just give him the same dam prescription. What the hell difference does it matter to you? This should have and could have been a 15 minute appointment . Instead it turns into an over an hour long fiasco. What a waste of my money and time! read more
