I tried a vanilla latte and their ham and Swiss twist pastry. Loved the latte and that all of their syrups are house-made and their shots are pulled ristretto! When you order coffee they also give you an option on the roast type. The pastry was good, but I prefer my pastries on the soft and chewy side vs toasted and flaky. I have had this place bookmarked for years and haven't gone despite my parents living in Danville. I'll tell you why: it is deeeeep in Alamo lol. I finally made the trek today, and I wish I didn't wait so long! It's a darling area packed with neighboring small businesses. Parking looks limited at first glance, but they have more spots when you drive through the gate to the right of the shop. Plenty of seating! They have a front patio, back patio, and tables/chairs overlooking the creek. I love the woodwork inside, the huge wall mural, and the antique-looking furniture really adds to the vibe. They also have a kid-friendly menu which feels family-oriented. I like their music, but it's just a *little* too loud and I could hear the table next to me trying to talk over it. Cappuccino ($5.85): I had a choice between medium (more acidic) or dark roast, and I opted for dark. When walking inside this coffee shop, it reminded me of being in a cowboy setting. I really like the interior and how they put this together. There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. There is a good selection of coffee and baked goods. While there is parking in the front, there is also parking in the back too. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and when I got it, it tasted like a latte with no vanilla. I even had my husband try it, and he said that it tasted like a latte with no vanilla either. When I asked for vanilla to the barista they gave me a look and put the vanilla in. I feel like the vanilla was forgotten about and in the end, the drink was mediocre. I will come back to give them another chance, but overall my experience is a 3/5. read more

One of the only locally owned coffee shops that was open on New Years day but I am so happy I tried this place out! It is such a cute coffee shop WITH seating and a little deck. I think this a cute spot for coffee with friends. The coffee was absolutely amazing. I was heavily impressed with their coffee menu and I can't wait to go back to try more. Always wanted to go to Lever. I work right near here, and I came here on New Year's Eve. It is a very cute coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be difficult as it is small and tight, but there is parking in the back. The coffee was great here. Their lavender ice latte was amazing. I believe they are known for their syrups, and I also got to try their orange rosemary syrup. It was unique, but I think the safe bet is to go with the lavender syrup. It's a bit hard to find parking in their specific lot so I would suggest parking on Danville blvd which is free. Came back again because I really enjoy this place, and it was just as good as before! I really like that you can choose between medium and dark roast. I went with the dark roast after the barista mentioned it was less acidic, and as always, it was great. The coffee had the right amount of bitterness (which I love) and didn't taste burned at all. In the photo (from left to right) is a cappuccino, an iced iron horse, and an americano. If you want something lighter, I would recommend the iced iron horse. It's an iced coffee with half and half. I personally preferred the cappuccino since it tasted stronger, but if you want something smoother and less bitter, the iron horse is a great choice. I can't wait to come back again! read more

I visited Lever Cafe for the first time this morning (12/26) and had such a lovely experience. The space itself is incredibly cute, and despite it being very busy (likely with the post-Christmas rush), everything ran so smoothly. The line stretched nearly halfway through the café and took about 20 minutes, with a constant flow of people coming in, yet the staff handled it all with such grace and professionalism. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I know how challenging those peak moments can be, which made me even more impressed. Every single person working this morning was phenomenal, and I really wanted to give the team a well-deserved shoutout for their energy, kindness, and efficiency. I ordered a savory pastry, a croissant-muffin with ham and egg, and it was absolutely delicious. I would 100% recommend it. I also ordered a matcha latte, which was made beautifully and perfectly balanced. As someone who truly loves a good matcha (and appreciates thoughtful matcha art!), I was especially impressed. I also want to give a special thank-you to one of the baristas who went out of his way to help me with a unique request. That extra bit of care genuinely made my day and speaks volumes about the level of service here. Overall, this was such a positive experience from start to finish. Ordered 3 items: Heirloom Tomato Puff Pastry $5.75 Iced latte $6 True cold brew $6 The Heirloom Tomato Puff Pastry is SO GOOD! I asked the cashier for a recommendation on the food items and they said "so many" but I went with the first thing they listed and I'm so glad I did! It's puffy, flaky, juicy, savory and just so delicious. I should have ordered two! One to eat there and one to go Lol. The iced latte however was a little milkier than I would prefer. Saw the barista top it off with more milk on top after pouring into the ice cup (probably would have been perfect without the extra pour, but all good!) coffee flavor was still pretty good :) The true cold brew has a unique aftertaste, really nice.
