Hands down our favorite restaurant our entire trip. The staff alone could not have been nicer if they tried. We were a group of 12 rambunctious folks from Colorado and they gave us the warmest welcome, great seating and excellent service. I enjoyed a lovely dinner as the sun was beginning to set. We were fortunate to score a high top table in the shade and out of the breeze. The chairs included a very low back support which I appreciated. Our waitress promptly brought us water and our drinks. We did not feel hurried, but attended to. My husband enjoyed the crab cakes and I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I had a chocolate cheesecake for dessert, which was so rich. I could not finish it. We are staying in a camper, so have a very small fridge. Waitress was kind enough to bring us plastic wrap for the remnants of the cheesecake rather than a large plastic box. What a wonderful lunch stop! The Eatery sits on the harbor, so we savored our meal with gorgeous views of the water making for a terrific ambience. And it gets better: the food was scrumptious, starting with the fresh mussels cooked in garlic which made a tasty broth. The scallop burger was no less fresh and no less yummy. And they made us a delightful Caesar salad which was plenty enough for two people. Our server couldn't have been friendlier and more efficient, and the prices are right, too. The Eatery is behind the better-known Blue Mussel Cafe, which is also a good restaurant but more expensive and lacks the has the fabulous close-up water views. Count us as fans! read more

Second stop on our way around PEI, this great little restaurant on the bay. We scored a great water front view seating. Started with the Moscow mule to drink, very enjoyable. We ordered the crab drip to start and it was a perfect amount for us four to share. The chips were delicious. For mains I had the fish and chips and it's a great size, three pieces of haddock and perfectly cooked PEI fries. The rest of the party had the fish tacos, baked, and they were top notch. PEI potato salad and coleslaw as sides added to the delicious meal. The only knock again was the service, really slow. Not sure if it was a one off or if this is the thing in PEI. Wonderful food, wonderful presentation! We ordered our food and ended up enjoying the scenery so much we actually took our meals to go so we could just enjoy some drinks. I had the crab dip which was absolutely amazing, my boyfriend isn't big on crab but adored it! He got the mussels which were fabulous as well. I can see this being a regular hangout of ours when we move to the island next year. Would definitely recommend to friends and family! read more

Fast food in an overwhelmingly touristy setting. Bear in mind that I was hoping for a little authenticity, but it's my impression of the island that this element died many years ago, and in its place was formed a sort of a cartoonish representation of what was formerly there. The service was faultless, but I did find the ambience so burdensomely twee, that one could be forgiven for thinking that Barbara Cartland had a hand in its design. I'm sorry to say that the food left me feeling more than a little deflated, as it was not even close to the standard that matched its price. read more

A very simple place on the water in a tiny corner of PEI, but it's special. Great service, and you won't get better seafood anywhere. Really. The seafood chowder was almost life changing, crammed with incredibly fresh local seafood and local potatoes and seasoned just right. Steamed mussels were simple and delicious. Oysters were crazy good. It's windy, mostly outdoor, but don't let that stop you. The setting is almost surreal. Authentic as it gets. Locals work there in places like this that only stay open a few months a year due to the harsh weather. Most come from generations of fisherman, it's a real, very mall working village and the buildings are lined with lobster traps and buoys. Worth the trip to this remote area. read more

Well when we got there, just after the lunch crowd, we were quickly seated outside. It was warm, breezy and the sun was shining. The meal selection had a great variety to choose from. We started with a plate of Nachos, hot peppers included. Followed that with fish cakes (2) and fish (3) and chips, salad and homemade bun. Staff was great, services was quick. We were considering going for a lobster dinner at Fisherman's Wharf Lobster Dinners but at last minute changed our minds, and happy we did. We enjoyed a great dinner overlooking bay in North Rustico. No beating the ambiance. For appetizers, we had mussels (cooked with garlic) - very tasty. For entrees, I had the lobster roll and fries and wife and son both had fish and chips. This was the best lobster roll I ever had and I'm from the east coast. It was 90% lobster meat - I actually felt like I was getting value for my money which seems rare these days. The fries were crisp and light. Topped off with a spicy caesar, it was a very enjoyable dinner. Highly recommended. read more

This place is hidden by a much busier restaurant (Blue something) but well worth finding. It was a rainy Monday lunchtime and we got right in to a table for 2. Good service. Clean. I had exactly what I was looking for: a dozen raw oysters and the lobster roll, which came with a nice Caesar salad. She had the mussels and a Caesar salad. My lobster roll was generous on a nicely toasted and buttered roll, and they served drawn butter for the lobster. It was perfect. The oysters were, of course, fresh and delicious. The mussels were delectable. Friendly staff. Really great place for lunch. read more

This is a little gem in one of the most scenic harbor towns on Prince Edward Island. The seafood chowder is a can't miss and definitely one of the best the island has to offer. Lovely seaside themed ambiance with fresh seafood in abundance. This place is perfect for both a happy hour drink and snack along the water or a full meal. The owner's father is a fisherman with a dock next door so to call the cuisine sea-to-table is far from an overstatement. This is definitely food (& sights) worth driving to! read more
