Quite Charming inside and out…read more *Historic Building with rich Town history. *Featured on TAPS and Haunted History. We had no experience outside the ordinary. *It is an old building that has been rebuilt at 3 different times in history and to varying extent. *Stayed over 6/17-18/25 Room was a Queen room. Floors sloped, but expected given the age. The building is on one thermostat. We're from Florida and the room was uncomfortably warm. Window facing brick building next door so opening the window didn't allow for a breeze. There were 2 glasses on dresser but there was no ability to get water or ice. There is also no coffee in the Hotel. You would need to wait for restaurant to open at 11:00am. This made the stay uncomfortable and is the reason I can't give more 's. *Area for improvement would be to have limited refreshment access to Hotel guests and refresh the air quality as it was musty. *Onions restaurant has a nicely executed Menu. Which was 4/5's! Clams sweet and cooked perfectly but not all of the shells were open upon serving (which is a no-no). Haddock Salad had beautiful color and fresh julienned vegetables on hand and fish was crispy and not overcooked. *Tavern opposite of the Restaurant and has local Brew on Tap. 7 Taps and each really good! Beer lines tasted clean and temp was good. Beer tasted crisp and delicious. 5/5's. Parking very limited. Satellite lot approximately 2 blocks down on same side of street.

However, my overall experience was completely soured by the unbelievably unprofessional front desk service. Check-in was a disaster. The man at the front desk spent more time on the phone with (what sounded like) his wife, making odd and presumptive comments about me--while I was standing right there. It took over 30 minutes just to get my room key. Unfortunately, check-out was no better--another 30 minutes wasted on what should've been a simple process. To make matters worse, I was asked to write down my credit card number on a piece of paper because their system was down. Absolutely not. That is a huge security concern and incredibly inappropriate!! For the price I paid for a two-night stay, this experience was unacceptable. Hospitality 101: treat your guests with professionalism and respect. Sadly, this inn failed miserably on that front. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and I will not be returning. Do better.

The inn was cozy and charming, and Monty and Rebecca were gracious and attentive hosts. They take such pride in their inn, and it shows. The inn itself is well-maintained and beautiful, the rooms are charming and cozy (and some with spectacular views of the lake!), and the amenities throughout were ample. The sheets were divine and so soft; it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The large living room downstairs was the perfect spot to relax by the stunning fireplace and play board games from their many options of games, puzzles, and magazines. There is a selection of coffee and tea in the dining room available any time, and every afternoon fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies are put out. They were delicious and we enjoyed quite a few! In the warmer months, there is a beautiful front porch overlooking the gazebo and waterfront area. The breakfast was fantastic and lovingly made. We were treated to a three-course breakfast in the dining room served by Monty with fresh juices and coffee/tea. First fruit, followed by a delicious pumpkin bread, followed by the main dish. At check-in, they asked about our dietary needs and preferences based on the upcoming menu and catered to our needs. It was excellent and we left breakfast stuffed! Monty was a truly kind and hospitable host and we enjoyed talking with him during our stay. He was even so kind to leave out a few things to go since we departed early before breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend staying at The Lake House at Ferry Point while in town or making a trip for a weekend of beautiful views and relaxation. Cozy inn, hospitable hosts, delicious breakfast, and a superb location right on the lake. We hope to return during warmer weather to enjoy the porch and kayaking. A truly special inn!

Since i had some credit to be used for hotel stay we decided to get a scenic sweets with king bed which is best and most expensive room available at the Inn. When we got there no one was there and an envelope left with my name and instruction for parkings and room with a map. It was bit difficult to navigate since it was dark but we manage to find the parking and grabbed our stuff and went up to the room with our code. Room was spacious and cozy. Building seemed to be old but seemed to be renovated and bathroom was nice and clean. Once we got settled we start to notice bugs flying, stuck on furniture, by the window and on the ceiling. Since it's in the woods i understand if it's 1 or 2 but it was more like 10+. I had to get rid of them myself because no one was around and was bothering my partner since she was afraid of bugs. Managed to somehow sleep through the night despite noise of annoying heater and bugs flying against the window and curtains. Next day, We woke up early to leave for hiking for the day. I left a message on the number they had for service to informed the management of the situation and to have them resolve it during the day as we would be out for the day. We spent most of the day out and we returned hoping that situation has resolved. Unfortunately within few minutes of arriving i once again noticed bugs flying and had to deal with them myself because place becomes empty at 8:00pm and does not have front desk or personal after 8:00pm which is odd for a hotel. We were too tired to deal with the issue so we just left for bed. Next day when we checked out I was going to talk to the staff but they are always in and out and office was open but no one was there so I decided to send message again to the text asking for them to fix the problem for next customer and request some kind of compensation for dealing with this issue and not having it resolved during our stay. Unfortunately they declined refund or any form of compensation. With the experience we had and the poor customer service I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Other reviews seemed to indicate decline in service after change in management which may be the reason. I did want to like the place and i did give a fair chance but i will not be returning here.

Kevin and Jen no longer own the Inn. The owner is never present and they don't serve breakfast anymore. It's grab and go, choice of 2 pastries an apple and coffee/tea. The staff was very nice and no issues there. At night it turns out there is no staff there. They rotate a staff member between 3 properties every few hours until 11:00. Also, we were on a 40th anniversary 3 week road trip and this is the only place we stayed that didn't even acknowledge it was our anniversary.The restaurant is still very good and the rooms are nice and we always stay in the suite with a beautiful view. My wife and I feel this Inn has lost its "heart" since Kevin and Jen sold it

Hot coffee and tea is available all hours, and there is a wonderful common area to sit and read, or enjoy a hot cup of tea. Was assured when I made the reservation there was internet as I needed to work for a bit while I as there. Was also told if I need ANYTHING to call the number for the "Motel" The "Owner" Rose was very nice to deal with until you needed something and then she was among the missing . Did not return phone calls asking for help . When she decided to several hours later it was via text with the wrong information. When I told her it was incorrect (WIFI password) and that it was really important she get back to me she did not bother. There was no staff on site even thought the sign on the motel office door says there is and all you need to do is call the number and someone will help you . Deck and chairs outside the room were completely covered in spiderwebs and spiders. Website Shows a nice deck with all kinds of picnic tables and chairs on the lake to sit at when you get down to them to use them there are signs posted everywhere that the dock is for loading and unloading boats only ..... i.e. don't plan to sit in the sun here for the afternoon. If Rose even reached out to me personally to discuss the issues I had and try to make the effort to work things out for us I may not be writing this review however she did not care because she had already received my money. Please learn form my experience and do not stay at this motel. Save yourself the bad experience.

Our band stayed at the Lord Hampshire Motel (room 28A and 29A) and I thought it was fantastic…read more Yes, the rooms are a little dated and the pillows are flat, but it was clean, the staff was great, the bed was comfortable and the view was amazing. We did not see any bugs and did not have any problems. We stayed there for 3 nights and all 4 of us enjoyed it. I plan on using this motel the next time we perform at Soulfest.
