My husband and I shared a bottle of Riesling along with a charcuterie board. They have such a vast selection of wines you are sure to find something you enjoy. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming.

Great ambiance. The menu didn't fit with the atmosphere. Small sandwiches and bags of chips. We will definitely return for drinks.

There is so much they offer. As far as eating they have Breakfast (smoked salmon bagel!), hot if cold sandwiches (the Jezabel ham!), salads (green ones but I love chicken salad), specialty pizzas (Neapolitan Nod!), and charcuterie boards! Then there is an extensive selection of teas, espresso based drinks, and wines (white, red, or sparking). You can enjoy a glass or a bottle. I've been to my share of coffee shops where the espresso based drinks either tasted burned or were so sugary you feel a diabetic coma upcoming. Not so here. Theirs are perfection with perfect balance of strong and sweet if you like flavors. Then there's a rotating bit of seasonal syrups and house-curated drink options. My favorite is the atmosphere. Couches and comfy large armed chairs, great art, tables outside, what's not to love? The owners take such pride in their shop. They keep it clean, always have a smile and kind word, and make sure their staff has that same spirit. This places puts the best out there for Danville.

The breakfast menu did not have much for me, but I was happy that I settled on a texturally intriguing apple crumble cake and paired it with a contrasting vegetal tea, which came loose leaf and ready to steep. Service was on the only slow side with only one person, presumably the owner, working. It was the sort of place where many would come for ambiance and sit a while.

This is the best addition to Floyd that I've experienced in my travels here to visit family. Owned…read moreby the same people behind Cocoa Mia (the delicious chocolate store next door), the quality of the food here is amazing and locally sourced. The owner knows their limited and ever-changing menu well and is happy to explain how everything is made and what's in it. Me and my boyfriend were seated 40 minutes before they closed, but my family arrived 10 minutes before closing but they kindly accommodated them as well! They also perfectly handled the allergies and intolerances of our table, the waitress went out of her way to make sure everything was correct. Not only is the food affordable with large portions, but it is all absolutely delicious. I got the savory crepes, my boyfriend got the steak Benedict bowl special, and my family members got variations of the same for their lunch. Everything was spectacular. The steak Benedict bowl special was the standout for us here, the steak pieces were perfectly cooked. There's indoor and outdoor seating and both are beautiful with great views! With the French vibes of the place and the care given to each dish in the menu, I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable our family meal was. Definitely support this locally run establishment during your travels to Floyd!

Four courses and the option to add a wine paring, which one in our party did. The rest of us ordered from the regular beer and wine menu. It would have been helpful to know which wines were served in the pairing so perhaps next time add that information to the menu. Service was spot on, ambiance was relaxing and cozy, timing and temperature of everything was perfection! Thank you for a fabulous evening and very happy tummies! The bonus- we grabbed LOTS of truffles, macaroons, and cookies next door to finish off our evening at home with cocktails and conversation!

Not a fan of big families for any number of reasons. I prefer the way plants reproduce, like by…read moregerminating seeds or even better by grafting. Seriously, or nearly so, think how much better, as compared to standard issue childbearing, grafting would work for humans, like first of all no more Lamaze breathing classes for dads (after all of which are done, many moms go for the drugs anyway). then as one generation runs out of things to do in life, rather than uproot the whole parent just insert the next generation into the trunk, thereby hopefully eliminating adolescence when most of the body develops. Fungi and molds are even better as they mature in hours, are much more resilient and easier to distribute plus they're totally anonymous: parents don't have to see how their best intentions didn't bear fruit, and their offspring have no one else to blame. the spores of these life forms are quite durable, even tolerate the conditions found in outer space. Future myco-human lifeforms could be launched by the billions from earth unceremoniously, hoping a few might land somewhere favorable to germinate rather than being sucked into and incinerated by a star. And no alphabet or arithmetic to learn in grammar school. Being a family mammal on the other hand has major downsides. an example being that if you're known to be ever-ready to venture wherever someone will buy your plane ticket, they call upon you to go see how cousin Luke or uncle Amos or whoever is doing. The boring relatives stay put back home but the black sheep migrate over the years to places you would likely not otherwise go. So it is that I was driving through central Virginia on a moonless night, on just such a family mission and frankly need a roadie, a restorative for my lagging spirits, which is why I turned off the state highway and onto a county road to see where it went, and came to this town which is how I happened onto rocky mount's finest establishment, The Alley Cat Bar. It's great to find places like this and is the reason I prefer to drive in unknown territories using old outdated AAA maps instead of gps. Not every side road exit brings you to an historic and quaintly cool town like Rocky Mount, but it's the occasional one that ends in Rocky Mount that keeps you in the wanderlust game. It' was just what I was looking for at this moment, a break from driving the dark rural Virginia roads, local music and a friendly beer crowd. I was ready. Most small towns, not much to do, so can't be too choosey but lucky here to have this place, among others by the way but none so much my kind, live music potentially a little rough around the edges crowd but, after all, it's central va. Incredible selection of beer. I missed the Tuesday nite trivia contest as well as a visit to the moonshine distillery but I had miles to go before I slept.
