We then saw Anna walk past our empty table three or four times before finally coming over with two glasses of cold water, which we never asked for. I told her we would've requested hot water with lemon, but she barely even acknowledged us. She took the cold water away, turned around, and later came back simply setting the hot water down without a word. When we were looking at the menu, my husband asked what the side options were. She replied in an annoyed tone, "It's right there," while pointing at the menu. My husband then asked if she could just tell us, which she eventually did. From start to finish, there was no smile, no pleasantries, no sense that she even wanted to serve us. Mind you, this was 9 AM on a Monday, and there were only three occupied tables in the restaurant, including ours. When the food arrived, one of the plates had dirt, a dead bug, or something similar on it. We pointed it out, and instead of apologizing, she took the plate away, came back, denied it was a bug, and still seemed visibly irritated. Later, I asked for extra napkins. She returned and aggressively dropped them on the edge of the table without even looking at us before walking away. Throughout the entire meal, she passed by our table several more times and never once checked on us. We left feeling dismayed, disappointed, and honestly feeling like the service did not deserve a tip--so we didn't. The taste is great, the meat tenderized, it's the right thickness and the breading is crunchy so the overall impression is that this is a great chicken fried steak. Of course my favorite sides are mashed potatoes covered in gravy. Really crispy fried okra. I haven't had fresh fried okra in ages so when I popped the first couple of bites into my mouth I was pleasantly surprised that they were fresh and not frozen! I was in town for only a few days but enjoyed this meal so much I came back a second day to enjoy another plate! Service was great, the food was great I certainly will come back and recommend the Teal Texas Cafe.

I love, love, love this place! I've probably been here 20 times, and I've never had a bad experience. Their breakfast menu is huge! I've tried probably 10 different items, but my go to is the Stagecoach because it combines 3 of my favorite breakfast foods on one plate. They take an open-faced buttermilk biscuit and top it with sausage gravy. They then top that with hashbrowns, topped with scrambled eggs, topped with melted cheddar and jalapeños. Yum! I also always get a side of the almond-crisp french toast. Other recommendations include the cinnamon crisp french toast, the sausage pancakes, the migas, and the breakfast tacos. My husband is a big fan of their omelets. Be prepared for a 30-50 minute wait on the weekends. No matter the weather, there will always be a big line of people. But it is worth the wait. Once you are seated, service is prompt, and the food flys out of that kitchen. I've been to the Grapevine location several times also. The food is great at that location too, but parking is a bitch, and the wait is usually longer. Still worth it though. You know any restaurant that can stay that busy, week after week, must be doing something right! read more

This is my second time here, it was recommended by my co worker. I know they can provide great service, just this time wasn't it for me. It was very busy this time, we had to be placed on a waiting list. (If this happens stay inside, so they don't seat someone before you). Our waitress was kind and helpful, she was still learning the menu, which is cool cause she was looking it up and not just guessing. We were getting the facts no guessing. I respect that. It took a while for us to receive our order and it didn't arrive hot. I want to say it's the manager (she was dressed in a costume), she is very helpful and welcoming. This place is stuck back in the corner of 121 & Harwood, in the north east corner. I drove by it for years & never seen this place...! One day a friend asked if I wanted to go get some breakfast, & I love breakfast, so we were on our way... I was totally amazed, the food tasted just like Grandmothers & Mom's home cookin... Pretty much they have any food anyone likes to eat for breakfast time... And for you ppl that get up late & want breakfast, Yepper, this is the place... And this place is really VERY COOL INSIDE... You get four stars because for crying out loud put some felt on the bottom of your chairs as the loudest freaking sound ever is the sound of your chair being pulled out so freaking annoying Food is freaking awesome. The servers are awesome. Ambience is awesome except for those freaking chairs and everybody I know like all those chairs. The staff was friendly enough, I'm hoping that our server was new, not sure though, she finally brought us our drinks but our food took so long to come that it was cold. It was breakfast and i was hungry so I still ate it, my sister wanted me to send it back but we had things to do. We had eaten here before and the food was memorable so we wanted to try it again. The only place to go in northeast Tarrant county for breakfast. Portions are more than filling, you'll likely be taking a box home. I've been coming here for years. Plus with the order to go you can skip the wait. Yes this place gets packed everyday it opens. Only sure fire way to not have to wait is go closer to noon. Too much jesus. During my last visit, my boyfriend and I were sat right in front of a wall of crosses. It made me lose my appetite. The big cross on the counter where you pay out made me decide that I probably won't return to Old West, because even IHOP is comparable food-wise. All of the "decor" is a little overwhelming. Only one time out of the many times we have been here have I had a problem with my food. And even then it was handled well.
