Chicken tenders with fries and corn
    Andrea B.

The nicest people. Great waitstaff. But we don't usually go to restaurants just because of the staff. So while the staff were great, the food was really lacking. And let me first say maybe I should go back and try the breakfast and Tex mex options instead of fried chicken but here we are. The chicken tenders were just so bad - over breaded and had an old oil taste. No issues with corn or toast and fries were ok. The chicken fried steak had the same twang. I was excited for the mashed potatoes but there were big chunks and they just tasted flat. I am really writing this review because maybe it's just a better spot for breakfast and I get that. I do not enjoy writing this because again, the nicest folks and because you are in my backyard and I want you guys to succeed! So tell me what I should try next time I come in and I would love to try you again. And welcome to the community of North Richland Hills!

Pancakes, egg whites and chicken quesadilla

Great spot!! I was tempted to go for my favorite Waffle House that was across the way, but glad I stopped here! Great service and we enjoyed every bite. Syrup was served warm, hash browns were salted perfectly and the egg whites were cooked as they should be! My husband had the chicken quesadilla and he ate it all with the amazing guacamole and that's from someone who doesn't like guacamole. Definitely stop in!

I went in on a Sunday at 12:30pm. There was a lot of parking spots and not hard to find! It was me and one other person, we were seated immediately. Iliana was our waitress, and she was sweet. The place is huge (lots of seating) and the prices were on mark with other brunch places. We ordered and the food was brought out promptly. I had pancakes, eggs, home fries, and bacon. The food was hot and delicious. I was given a free mimosa (that makes everything delightful)! There was music coming from a Tv but not loud enough, but they just opened, a few months ago and are still figuring things out. The manager came over after we finished and checked in with us, he also pointed the owner was also there on the floor. I would definitely try it because once business picks up they will have. Wait list!

    Turkey club

My friend and I like to meet at local places for lunch once a month or so. For July we picked white rock cafe. When we walked in it smelled strongly of disinfectant. While I appreciate the cleaning, it's kind of off putting when you're about to eat. We ordered the turkey club and chicken fried chicken sandwich. Turkey club looks nice but the turkey is the cheap grocery store pressed turkey. The chicken sandwich was mine, I could only eat half of it as a lot of the chicken was so hard I couldn't cut it with the butter knife I was provided. My friend advised our server and she checked it and said oh they shouldn't have served that to you. She offered to make me another one but I declined. We decided to order a dessert to share so we got the fried tortilla cheesecake thing, with strawberries. It was pretty good. No offer of credit was given for the half eaten entree that was sent back. All in all we feel there are too many good cafes in the mid cities for us to hit this one again.

absolutely delicious food. Chilaquiles were nice and tart. Refried beans delectable. Everything tasted homemade and just like how my abuela and mom makes food. David was great. He was on top of everything!

We love White Rock Cafe! The food is always fresh, beautifully plated, and the portions are a great value. Ashley and the rest of the staff are fantastic -- super attentive and friendly. Plus, they have a liquor license if you're in the mood for a mimosa or cocktail. Always a great experience here!

Super traditional diner food, done right. Nothing fancy, just solid, well cooked comfort food. The biggest standout was the speed. Our food came out in about ten minutes, and from the time we sat down to the time we paid and walked out, we were done in under forty five minutes. The service was excellent. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and clearly used to handling a busy crowd. The place was packed, which tells you everything you need to know. Despite how busy it was, we were taken great care of the entire time. My buddy ordered the chicken fried chicken and said it was delicious, with fantastic gravy and huge portions. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept, including the bathrooms, which always matters. This is not a fine dining spot, but it is a top notch diner that delivers exactly what it promises. If you are in Fort Worth and looking for a reliable breakfast or brunch spot, this is an easy recommendation.

Roots Café is a small, inviting spot in North Richland Hills that serves genuinely fresh food every day. And by fresh, I mean not pulled from a freezer and reheated--actually made fresh. I didn't get the chance to try the French toast that our server, Kate, highly recommended, but she still guided us toward options that matched exactly what my friend and I were looking for. The omelet was well seasoned and well prepared. I ordered pancakes as a substitute for the French toast, and they were excellent--impressive given that I normally don't enjoy pancakes due to their usual baking-soda taste. These were balanced, flavorful, and something I would order again without hesitation. The Roots Sandwich was also reported to be outstanding, with each bite hitting the mark. Overall, Roots Café exceeded expectations and is absolutely worth a return visit. By the way parking lot is free and has ample spacing. And inside is spacious seating of about 50-75 customers. .

I got the 2 egg combo with skirt steak. Pretty affordable at around $13. The skirt steak was tasty, the eggs were fresh, the fruit didnt taste like chemicals, and the potatoes were awesome. It came with toast or pancakes. I went with pancakes. They were decent. My family had the breakfast sandwich, patty melt, and biscuits and gravy. 2 thumbs up on the b&c they were pretty damn good and so was the patty melt. The breakfast sandwich was also good. It was like a breakfast croissant. I would definitely come back. I hope you come try it as well so they'll stay in business!

We got Turkey Bacon Melts that come on sourdough with fries. Bread was sturdy and sinfully buttery. I was pleasantly surprised with turkey breast (not deli meat). This place leans more into the healthier eating and you can see the staff working right behind the open counter. Presentation for all of our food was good. We ordered Brussels sprouts to share. They felt a bit overcooked - more steamed and mushy vs. the stir-fried/air-fried Brussels that I enjoy. Didn't really have much flavor. Then I ordered the winter burger with potatoes. The burger was a decent size and the winter burger included a few apple slices on it. Sadly, the apple slices were the only things that gave this burger flavor since the burger patty itself lacked any seasoning. I enjoyed the baby potatoes but it, too, needed more salt. I ordered the olive oil cake to go for my husband. Again, good presentation but lacking in taste. It was closer to dry cornbread consistency rather than a moist cake (and I've made plenty of olive oil cakes before to know it can be moist!) Rating more for the service and ambience but would give it 2 stars for food. Overall, if I go back, I'll try something else like a salad or stick to the smoothies here.
