We love Old West! The service is always efficient and friendly. You just have to make sure you get here early because it gets packed! Prices are a bit higher on the breakfast side, but it's because the portions are so big! You get what you pay for! I usually get an omelette or one of the breakfast combos. Within a few miles of DFW Airport and one of a few locations in the area. Located in a fairly busy shopping area with enough parking. Casual breakfast and lunch. I enjoyed my meal and the service was great even though they were busy. A friend recommended that we here for lunch. We arrived around 11 am and the restaurant was already pretty busy. We sat, were immediately greeted and drink orders were taken. Big tables here with cool burned-in chessboards on them. Could be fun. The place was busy so it wasn't quiet, but it wasn't so deafening that we couldn't speak either. We were a group of 5 and most ordered breakfast, but I ordered a burger. The food was ready quickly and brought out all at once by a team of servers. The breakfast plates were plentiful and tasty according to my friends. My burger was cooked perfectly and I got exactly what I ordered. To surprise and delight there were two thick slices of tomato and those wonderful purple onion slices, along with a crispy piece of lettuce. Old west cafe is country classic! However, the Bedford location puts there food under warmers and don't make all items fresh to order. I reccomend there hash browns but definitely not the pancakes or French toast. We asked for chocolate chip pancakes and they gave us a pancakes with chocolate chips on top.. vs. the grapevine location who puts them inside the pancake and makes them fresh to order. I brought my sister and niece here (they are visiting from Austin), as I have enjoyed this place a few times and figured on a weekday around noon-1pm they wouldn't be so busy as to have a waitlist like they usually do when I go on the weekends. Surprisingly they were still pretty busy! Not enough for a waitlist but still plenty of folks in there - just goes to show the place is heavily trafficked which is always a good sign of quality (besides in touristy areas, which this is not, ha). I have always gotten the Coosie's Skillet (with the eggs over easy instead of scrambled), but today I opted for the Curly Wolf Skillet (hold the queso, and eggs over easy instead of scrambled) and WOW! Also super delicious! Madison (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly!) was a great server, friendly and kept the coffee coming. My niece got a flapjack and that thing was huuuge - bigger than my face lol Sister got the Wild West Omelet and it too was very large. None of us could finish our meals haha - came away stuffed, caffeinated, and very happy. Can't wait to visit again! read more

Budget Rental Car at the airport suggested this restaurant. It turned out to be the BEST detour!!! Our waitress Stephanie was terrific. She gave us tips on her favorite things to eat. We ordered the Cheyanne, scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, and the Farmhand. Had to try everything. It was cooked to perfection! The only down side is we ate everything before we thought to take pictures. Bottom line...food's great, the service is even better. Stop in when you have a chance. read more

Whenever we visit family in the Metroplex, we always make one or two stops at the Old West Cafe, it simply can not be beaten. A few days ago we stopped in for Breakfast. James was our Server and he was terrific! Attentive and helpful. Like someone else said, the Pancakes have a diameter of 10" to 12". The Coffee is great, the food options are endless and the relaxed atmosphere is perfect for a meal woith your family, friend(s) or mate. Food is always nice and hot, delicious and good portions. The wait time from the time you order from the time you're eating is about 10 mins, I've been coming here since I moved from California. One year and a half. (although today it was bad, 25 mins later!) and I still had to ask what was going on. They have decent coffee with a choice of flavored coffee creamers. My husbands favorite is: Old west omelette with a side of sourdough, refried beans w/ cheese & fried potatoes. My 2 year old always has Frontier Feast: double side of bananas and strawberries. I always get their delicious Strawberry Belle (awesome French toast stuffed with sweet cream cheese , topped with strawberries). I drive from Arlington to Bedford, just for the customer service!! Which is normally super friendly and precise on your order. Plus food comes quick. I was disappointed today big time on service but it looks like they have several new servers. Alright, this is an updated/new review. Almost two years later, I now realize I had the correct pancake in the past it just did not have the correct syrup. The syrup that goes with the Banana Nut Pancake, should be a peanut butter syrup and it wasn't. So now to fast forward, I ordered the Pioneer w/ the same pancakes and once again, it did not have the peanut butter syrup as it should have. Let me explain how good the peanut butter syrup is, it is DANG good and brings out the banana in the pancakes. So not getting what I ordered, dramatically changed the taste of my food. It was so good, I chose to mention it several times in this review. Yes, people, that kind of good! The bacon, to me, was a bit underdone as I am a fan of very crisp bacon. No big deal. The sausage, I really like the mild taste of it, but I wish it stood out a bit more. When I last visited as a dine-in patron, there was someone thoroughly going through her to-go order. I mean, she was taking everything out and opening every container. I have a feeling they screwed up several of her orders in the past. Now that I know they don't correctly put the to-go orders together, I will be that patron as well. I will check EVERYTHING, including the syrup. HA! read more
