Excellent salsa choices - love the bean dip

Great service. Fabulous self-serve salsa bar. Average ambiance. Enchiladas Rancheras were ok, rather uninspired, too much cheese and not enough sauce. Wish there were more vegetarian choices. They are trying in this regard but it's just not quite there yet.

Chips and Bean Dip. They were not the best chips.

Listen I love Mexican food and I hate being mean on yelp but this was not it. Something was missing from this meal, maybe it was salt but I was underwhelmed. We did go at 2 pm on a week day so maybe it was an off time but it just had no taste. The staff was attentive and service was quick but I don't think I'll be back. Asheville has a ton of Mexican restaurants so don't waste your time with underwhelming.

Enchiladas Poblanas 3 out of 5 stars definitely sweet

They were friendly, greeted us & seated us right away. Good service, checked back in on us several times. Quiet seating. Good food.

We have had a challenging time finding good Mexican food since moving to Western North Carolina, so finding Ole's was such a pleasure. The flavors are absolutely great and not too watered down, thankfully. The portions are generous and everything was fresh. The service was excellent. Our server, Evelyn, was very attentive and she graciously answered our questions. My daughter is studying Spanish and Evelyn kindly pronounced a few words in Spanish for us when we asked her to, which we found to be a treat, as all 3 of us love to learn new things. The atmosphere was colorful and upbeat and I watched my husband and daughter dancing to the music a little bit in their seats as they silently stuffed their faces while they made Ohhhh and ahhh sounds between bites. I'm really glad we found Ole's, and I think we will be back again and again.

    Medium Queso...rip off

$4 for a "medium queso" I think not.... I know times are tight but this serving size for a to go order is ridiculous. If you want a good size queso that comes with chips and is also 4 bucks head to Ay Curumba in Oakley.

Have ordered from Ole's Guacamole many times before with no issues. It is our go-to place for takeout. The food and service is always amazing. We've ordered their Nachos many times before as takeout and while dining in. I hope our experience tonight was an outlier. We ordered takeout and our Nachos were bare and sad. They are usually topped with "refried beans, ranchera sauce, Pico de Gallo, cheese and sour cream". We requested no meat, and somehow none of the other toppings made their way on to our Nachos. Very disappointing, especially for $8.99.

Stopped by for taco Tuesday. If you have not heard this place does dollar 50 tacos on Tuesday. And they are amazing. Was very happy with the quality of the food the service and the atmosphere. Small delay in our food but the manager came out and apologized A+ for that

Ordered dinner from Ole Guacamole on a Sunday at 6:30 pm through Kickback delivery. Delivery was super fast and food arrived warm and ready to eat (no reheating required). For the longest time, Papa's and Beer was my favorite Mexican food restaurant in town. I think I officially found my new favorite. My husband and I both ordered the tri-colored enchiladas, only mine was made with cheese, shredded beef and steak (his was with chicken). I also substituted the black beans for refried beans. I was really shocked that the establishment got my substitution correct (restaurants rarely do on special orders). The cheese enchilada was my favorite; Although the steak and beef came in a close second. It was plenty of food to feed the appetite. My son ate the kids bean and cheese burrito. It m, too, was a healthy portion. We finished the meal off with desert: churros and cheesecake chimichangas. Holy moly, were they ever so delicious. The perfect amount of sweetness to cure the sweet tooth. Not only do I recommend this place heavily, we will definitely be returning customers. This is now our favorite Mexican Food Restaurant!

    Carnitas Tradicionales MUST have these!!!

Absolutely delicious!! Phenomenal service. Our waiter Oscar made sure we had everything we wanted before we would even asked for it. This place is a must. Clean restaurant, fresh food, variety of salsas, great bar selection. I was passing thru Asheville and found this gem;definitely returning when traveling through the area.

    The molcajete is ridiculously delicious

The space is very nicely designed and laid out. Plenty of room in a cozy environment. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, on top of being very effective. I was extremely pleased to find that they even had a few different vegetarian proteins for their various dishes. In terms of the food, I went with a burrito bowl with vegan chorizo. The presentation was fantastic: my photo doesn't do it justice. It was also enormous. Much more food than I could finish, but also delicious. There were so many layers of flavors and textures that really came together in a cohesive dish. The best part is that they offer three different house made salsas, which really leveled up the dish and the experience. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out. The very hip, somewhat low key vibe was comfortable while also feeling high end well designed.

Sadly, it is over an hour and a half drive if we want to return. Alberto, the owner, was very welcoming, along with his servers and bartender. That day, they had a Mariachi band, which was really cool, and the music was great for the ambiance of the place. Alberto told us about his other restaurant, and I would love to go check it out one day as well. We observed him closely as he was speaking to all the patrons like family and was very good at answering any questions. There's a salsa bar that is included in case anyone wants to try their house-made salsas. They start you off with fresh chips and the dip they have. It is honestly the best we have had so far, and my husband loves Mexican cuisine a lot. It's a mix of refried beans with cheese sauce and red sauce. I ordered the Camarones Zarandeados-- Peel-and-eat shrimp, marinated in house seasoning, and garnished with fresh cilantro. Served with rice and corn. Along with a strawberry daiquiri. It was truly a dish I would want to return to eat. The seasoned shrimp were juicy, and I loved peeling them myself and getting messy with the juices. II usually dislike most rice made in restaurants, but this was definitely delicious, and I'd happily eat it again. My husband had a creamy burrito with steak , peppers onions , and olla beans topped with cheese sauce and served with rice , lettuce, and tomatoes on the side. His drink was a Corona margarita. It was a huge portion, and he was full after eating 3/4 of the burrito. It is interesting he said it was his favorite to date as well. We both tried the birria tacos , and OMG, they were so yummy!! The sauce made for them was perfect, and the meat was actually seasoned well. I've had other ones, and well, let's just say they weren't my favorite. We also tried the "paleta" shot. It tasted just like tamarind. That was definitthe order of ely great and refreshing even as a shot. We ended with the Sopapilla for dessert. It was truly a lovely evening with my husband after an almost 2-hour drive to Asheville, and I am eager to go back for the great food and ambiance. If you want great-quality food with a definitely great price tag, go visit La Cabana Mexican Grill.
