One of the restaurants we picked for dinner here in Ashville. The Chey is a protégée of Jose Andreas. It showed! Nice restaurant. We were sat in the back area and our server stopped in to get our drink order. Everything was pretty good. Took a bit to get everything but we were not in a hurry and it was a relaxing kind of place.

Really cute ambiance upon coming in, but the food... THE FOOD. We got the limones burger & the short rib enchiladas and I think it's near impossible to pick which was better. The enchiladas held so much flavor and complexity -- my only qualm was that they only gave me two! I could've eaten at least 3 more. The burger -- I know what you're thinking.. why come to a place like this and get the burger, but I can guarantee you this burger supersedes most places that specialize in just burgers. To finish it off, we got the bread pudding and it was delectable. The bread pudding came with an insatiable caramel as well as a pumpkin spice ice cream. My only issue here was that the exterior was a little tough compared to the center. Would definitely look into getting the churros next time! Overall, great and kind service and I can't wait to come back and try more of this delicious menu.

Amazing service provided by Kacie, amazing recommendations provided by here for the restaurant and as well for tourists like us. She helped with everything. Provided amazing service and was truly polite. She is a professional at what she does. The food was great. It lacked to me what felt like some seasoning but I tore the food up still. The ambiance was great. Well lit but still dim at the same time. Quiet but busy.

Had high expectations based on other reviews and was unfortunately very disappointed. We ordered several small plates and a few entrees as well as a few of their 'famous' margaritas. Blood orange margarita was exceptionally sour, caliente margarita was underwhelming, and the Thai-chili mango got sent back for being too sweet in exchange for the traditional which shocked our server into brief silence. Ceviche fish was not flaky but on the meatier side, however, still great flavor. Lobster nachos also good flavor but ironically the chunks of lobster were so large that it didn't make for great nachos. Flautas were a hit albeit a small portion (only 2) and the chile relleno was outstanding. Entrees were lamb (didn't try but was told it was good, same with the steak). Shrimp entree was okay, but underwhelming for nearly $50. The al pastor chicken skewers (came with 2 chicken tenders by the way) were very, very delicious, great flavor almost Mediterranean. Service was horrible. Such a lack of personality which I've never really had happen so I was amazed at how much it affected the overall meal but it genuinely made the meal a negative experience, I couldn't see myself going again, truly tanked an expensive dinner. If you choose this place over the other better options in the area, sit at the bar and only get the small plates?

Beef enchiladas drowning in a less than spectacular sauce. It was tasteless.

The food was very bland. Had the beef tip enchiladas , they were a huge disappointment. The lobster nachos were very average. No salsa on the nachos. The rice on the enchilada plate was hard and crunchy. Not a $25 dinner. No chips and salsa were offered. All around a less than satisfying meal.

Limones is one of our Top 5 restaurants in Asheville. It's tucked away on a small street off Broadway so many tourists don't know about it. We always sit at the bar and the margaritas and food are super good! The lobster nachos are a must and we usually start with a cucumber jalapeño margarita. The interior is contemporary industrial, but the food is 100% comfort.

Sat at the bar, luckily there were 2 bartenders there as we were overlooked by one till the other stepped up. Not sure if they had split the bar in half but ill just think of it like that. Our first time here, ordered street corn and Avacado Tartare. The presentation of all the food was on point as was the taste. I do wish the street corn would have been off the cob as it is quite messy eating that in a restaurant. The tartare was good, but we also thought it would have been nice to be blended in with the Avacado. Next we ordered the Black Angus dish, that night it was a rib eye. Everything on the plate was delicious. Very much recommend. Also ordered the Pork Chop. That wasn't bad, not a lot of meat but the taste was good. I definitely think the Black Angus dish over-shadowed everything else we tried. It's a nice place and I would come here again for just that dish and to try a few other menu items.

As we often do when hitting a higher end restaurant, we wanted to sample as much of the menu as we could. So we order a bunch of small plates, and split an entree. I am pescatarian, so I can't speak to any of the carnivorous dishes, but if what we had was any indication, I think you'll be pretty happy. That said, here's how we found things: The space is incredibly welcoming, warmly lit, not too crowded. That said, it is usually very busy. And it is very loud in there. So loud that you can barely hear your tablemates speak, especially if there is a boisterous party next to you, which happened to us. So, a mixed bag on ambience. The space could do with some acoustic treatment on the walls and ceilings. Lots of hard surfaces there. Cocktails are very good to excellent. Many of them are served up, which is my preference. Sometimes there's an excess of ice not properly strained out of the cocktails, which kind of negate having them up. Ceviche is lovely. Masa tostadas as well. Had fish of the day on two occasions, and it was excellent both times. Overall, the food is very, very good, and the service is fairly quick. Staff is friendly and very competent. Sometimes when they get a little rushed, there might be a little delay, but they'll find you without excessive delays. Reservations are required if you want a table. But they usually seat you almost immediately. All in all,, a very, very good restaurant. I just wish it were a little less loud.

Limones offers dishes inspired by Latin cuisine, but falls short on authenticity. The moody modern atmosphere and friendly service are inviting, yet the food lacks the traditional touch of genuine Mexican fare. For those seeking true Latin flavors, look elsewhere. However, if you enjoy Latin-inspired dishes with a creative twist, Limones may be up your alley. What would make this restaurant better is having the menu and information clearly state its Latin inspired vs stating its authentic Mexican food.

After paying, I heard one of the girls sarcastically complain about how much I tipped. The 2 girls then proceeded to complain about another customer that came in and complained about how little she tipped. I find this very rude and awkward af; like why are you talking sh- about customers when you're literally standing in front of multiple customers. I don't know if she thinks people can't hear their conversation behind the counter, but the entire restaurant can lol. The girl who rang me up was really nice though. Just an FYI, I didn't even tip low, I'm not sure how much she was expecting me to leave for making some smoothies and a sandwhich lmao. But I don't think I'll be coming back here just because of them. Felt like mean girls in high school talking about other people. They also kept giving weird looks and just had an off putting attitude; weird vibes. I would give 1 star but that smoothie alone is worth a star, so good!

This next part is on me but I expected their fruit (blueberries specifically) to be fresh, not frozen. Their "ciabatta" bread had zero characteristics of real ciabatta bread. I would've much rather seen it described as "homemade bread". The positives of the experience: it's an inclusive cafe, the staff was friendly (they may forget to mention oos items), and there was a clear effort to provide a sustainable experience. Overall, I would not make an effort to visit and spend money here. Other customers seemed to enjoy it, so I hope I just ordered the wrong items.
