I coordinated a retiree mixer here and I have to say the place, the charcuterie platter, the price, the service was EXCELLENT. The day and weather were perfect. There were 24 of us and our server allowed us to gather outside on the Rondout Creek. The platter was available inside and drinks were very reasonably priced and the wine was a generous pour. She put 'to go' containers' for us to take our leftover bountiful platter which was very much appreciated. I have heard nothing but rave reviews from my fellow retirees. Highly recommend. I can't recall our servers name so I have a picture here, she was the BEST!!!!

You have your choice of sitting inside or outdoors. We did neither. It was take-out due to a prior commitment. The staff was competent though somewhat slow considering our request. (the restaurant wasn't that busy). We ordered sandwiches and drinks. Food was very good. Check sandwich section of menu. 3.5 stars.

We ordered take out from this restaurant because we had good experiences during the pandemic ordering take out. However, this time it was very disappointing. Not only the meal was overpriced for the amount it served, the taste of food was only okay. Fried chicken was mediocre and brisket was too dry (and without bbq sauce!). Please see the pic, with this amount of food we paid $65. This is insane even with inflation. This is more expensive than dining in NYC!

Went for the brunch buffet. It was busy but no wait. The chicken was really good and nicely seasoned. Loved the ambiance. Huge farm house. The views outside are nice on the water. It's what you can expect from a breakfast buffet. There was an omelet station.

Seemingly raw egg obviously it's poached it should be runny to some extent but this was not cooked quite enough for consumption.

I really gave this place THREE tries. Rude servers and subpar food. All 3 times were disappointing to say the least. The last time was this past Sunday, I came for brunch. We were sat and our waiter came over and immediately said "what do you want to drink?" I looked at him confused because I DIDNT KNOW WHAT THEY SERVED. Do they have mimosas? Do they have bottomless mimosas? I said "I dont really know I guess water?" I thought there would be brunch drinks- I'd also like to know the prices of things before i named off something in my head i wanted to drink. But okay. he walked away and came back with water and said "no menu today it's buffet style you can go up" Okay so I go up, I see a lot of people going up to grab their own mimosas and I was confused if that was included in the buffet price or not. I feel like that's something our waiter could have gave us a LITTLE information on, but he didn't seem to like us very much for whatever reason. Then we got to the food, it was ALRIGHT! Nothing blew my mind but that's okay. The only issue I had was the fact that the eggs Benedict was not cooked enough for consumption. Of course they are supposed to be runny eggs but the yolk was perfectly intact and the whites of the egg were also runny. Pretty sure it's not supposed to be like that. All in all, service sucks and the food isn't good enough to deal with the servers attitudes.

The Fried oyster sliders were absolutely amazing. My wife had BBQ Sliders were not even close to those. Sweet with a touch of heat BUT way too much fat on it. The ducks on the River were cute and loved all the extra fat we threw to them. Slow getting our 2nd drink the Awstruck hard cider so tasty. But the killer was NO PAPER TOWELS In the men's room All over the counter and floor and just a big mess. I told the owner he didn't seem to be in a rush to take care of it. Management needs to work on that. If they can't manage a clean restroom, I'd really hate to see the kitchen. I'm a cook at a golf course, easy stuff to make and Never had any food come back. The reviews for this place are really sad. Such a nice looking place in a nice place on the river yet it needs a lot of work. Get rid of the manager and start over. We will NEVER be back.

Visiting the area in search of lighthouses, we arrived in the later afternoon on a very hot Sunday in July and were enticed by the idea of sitting outside, watching the boats come and go on Rondout Creek. To our pleasure, we were able to sit outside. The outdoor dining area was lovely and clean, with tables spread out for social distancing. Our waitress promptly arrived with iced, cold water and asked for drink orders while we perused the menu. We ordered a Stella draft and a hard cider. We both enjoyed the breeze and watching the boat traffic on the creek while dining. For the appetizer we had the corn fritters with maple syrup butter. Good portion size, crunchy, tasty fritters. My dining partner did not care for them too much, but loved the maple syrup butter and wish there had been more. We also ordered the house made biscuits. These were like little cornbreads and they did not look nor taste homemade to me. My dining partner thought they were fantastic! Main courses: Pulled pork shoulder with coleslaw and baked beans, and blackened catfish with grilled corn salsa and cucumber tomato salad. The pulled pork was moist and tasty, the barbecue sauce was on the sweet side. Excellent. The baked beans were flavorful and rich. The coleslaw was kind of bland, but still o.k., although the servings seemed very small. Both entrees were $19.95 with my side salad being an additional $4.95. The blackened catfish was flaky and tasted fresh, yet it tasted like it had been coated in breadcrumbs. It lacked either lemon or butter as a topping. I did ask for lemon and it was brought immediately. The hot fish was placed upon the huge serving of cucumber and tomato salad--which made the salad warm. The salad itself lacked any flavoring or spices and it did not at all to go well with the catfish. There was some grilled corn atop the catfish, but it was definitely not a salsa of any kind. Service was friendly and prompt and I found sitting outside to be most pleasurable and relaxing. Restrooms were clean and the inside of the restaurant was tastefully decorated. If in the vicinity, I would like to try some other menu items at this place.

Blackened catfish: too salty and over-fried, so sides didn't temper the fish enough

I've been here a few times now for regular dinner, the brunch buffet, and the Mother's Day buffet. The good news: almost everything fabulous! I love the location, the parking, the ambience, the drinks, the space between the tables, the hours, and the impeccable service. Can't say enough good things about the service from everyone I've met. The bad news: the food is consistently mediocre. I've had a wide variety of apps, entrees, and desserts and have found every dish to have something major off with it, although presentation is always on point. Overpriced for the food, but not for the whole experience. Summary: I'll always go back because it's a nice time, but I don't go to enjoy the food

Service, service, service... we waited 45 mins for a couple of starters. And both were room temperature. Place had high hopes but failed terribly with the service and quality of food. On top of that the waitress put it upon themselves to tip them 40% on the bill after the service. There were about 100 servers walking around the place so I'm not sure why the food took so long as they definitely were not under staffed.

Beautiful space inside and out. Went on a Monday night and patio was packed. I could see why when I took a post dinner stroll. Fried green tomatoes were delicious. Bartender was attentive and on point. Can't wait to return.

I am truly not aure why the poor rating for this restaurant. We went twice and we loved it. Th first time sat outdoor (stressful since there were so many bees, so careful!) and wanted to chill an try a small bite. We ordered the pulled pork sliders and were SURPRISED. SO GOOD. I am always hesitant ordering pulled pork because many times restaurants served it a on the dry side. Let me tell you that the whole combo of bread, meat was... so so good. So, we came back another day (sitting inside) the place is huge and Inloved the decor. This time we had the shrimp which were super tasty as well, brisket, ribs, mac and cheese and the asian noodles. Again, food was delicious. Brisket was really tender but the real star was the ribs. They melted in your mouth and the taste was perfect. Not too much sauce that you could not really notice the meat flavour but the perfect amount for the twist. Noddles were average, and tbh, I wouldnt order them i a place like this but ny son really wanted them so... Oh, conr bread on the house 100% recommended

We enjoyed the Figgy chicken sandwich (fig jam, plentiful greens, cheese and chicken, bun could have been better quality) with salad (pretty fresh), and the Caesar chicken sandwich with fries. The server (owner?) was very friendly and explained the menu, saying specifically that the chicken sandwiches are made to order. There were only two other occupied tables on a Saturday afternoon and the food took a little while to come out (not very bad but not super fast). It also seems like a place that should be crowded but wasn't. Coffee was self service. They also had a pumpkin pie in a plastic container (didn't look homemade) in the front. There's a little children's play area in the back. And the unisex bathroom was very large. It's located on a street with lots of shops and other eateries (pizza etc).

Our waitress was very nice, really chill, checked in once but if we had flagged her over I'm sure she would have been attentive more but we just didn't need anything. We ordered two different versions of their chicken sandwiches and they both were amazing! I ordered the club and substituted out for the Big Mac sauce, it was ridiculously delicious! The owner/chef I believe came over after our food was served which was really nice to check in and offered some future suggestions that we'll be sure to take her up on. The food was cooked to order, super fresh and a lot of details that made it a perfect bite! Cute place with a variety of seating options, the old brick work pops through in some places which adds a really nice historic charm to the place. We'll definitely be back to give a few more menu items a try!

Amanda was the first face to greet us, and she is so sweet and welcoming. The restaurant has such a great, friendly vibe.
