Delicious. Food was great. Drinks were good- but weak. But good and service was amazing!

A solid dining experience with nice service and a good menu of items, with views of the water While I wasn't blown away by the food, we enjoyed it (spinach and shrimp risotto special was tasty but could have been cooked a touch longer; steak, mashed potatoes and green beans had a good sauce but steak was a bit chewy; clams and linguini were as advertised and good; calamari was good and not too bready but was a bit pricey for the portion size). They also have a selection of other seafood, sandwiches, soups and salads. Entrees were around $25 per dish. Sandwiches and wraps under $20. No restaurant parking but municipal lot is close and side street parking available for those who look around. Service was attentive and friendly. I imagine the views are nice if you sit outside but in the cooler months it was only ok. Views of the "Severance" Bridge available too. Pretty close to some other shops on the waterfront.

On our million (lol) visit to Mariners and they are still knocking it out of the park! Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out nice and hot. We were hoping to eat in the patio but they're booked for the night due to live music on Friday nights in the summer. Mental note...make reservations early next time. Our food was amazing. The steamers are amazing and we're taking the broth home...it's THAT good. It is a must. I ordered a salad because this girl has been eating a lot of carbs lately and my jeans are screaming to please eat a salad but I did get it with Cajun chicken and that made it delicious with just enough spice. My companions loved their dinners. They both got shrimp dinners and it came with lots of shrimp!!! The flavors are amazing and we all left full and happy.

Marine's Harbor is a true crowd pleaser. Then again, depends who you ask. From Wraps to Bisque to Oysters to Main plates, this is one restaurant nestled along the Roundout Creek in Kingston, NY, that practically has everything and then some. This place is like a maze of surprises because you enter by their spacious bar, followed by their dining room and then their covered canopy area. With their seafood-plenty menu, we lucked out for a late lunch and seated in their serene covered balcony area overlooking the creek. I could be wrong, but from looks of it, come to Mariner's H. for a big rowdy evening too by the bar. The one server around, weaved through tables with ease and charm- and, there were about 3 other tables he tended to. We kicked things off with a doz. Blue Point oysters that were meaty and satisfying alone and hubs enjoyed his skewered steak appetizer that was nicely kissed by the grill. I stayed with Mocktails and were both done very well. Between the sprinkled lavender buds on my Lavender+Ginger+Lemonade and my Mango+ Turmeric drink, ingredients ROCKED! Hubs' stuffed Cod with crab meat+shrimp, was exactly that and not some mealy, bready mush and said a sprinkle of salt was needed and my salmon and cream sauce was enough for like two people. We thought price was fair. My dish was $28 and can't get better than that! And even their regular cocktails topped at $13-14. Price is too good. It's a guaranteed treat. Follow your lunch or dinner with a stroll by the creek to catch the boats gliding through.

b.overly_delicious @marinersharborkingston Kingston, NY: The days of my youth, late night drinking at Mariner's, are long gone. I can still see the Phil Rizzuto commercials on tv, over and over in my head. Mariners is certainly a staple of the community and living in the shadow of Mariner's Harbor Highland's past. After sitting down with Sal Guido over a plate of pasta, he explained the ever-changing climate of increasing quality and service expected by the new wave of well-to-do tourists. Whether you want to admit it or not, Kingston has quickly become a tourist town with a swell of customers coming all year. Restaurants have been forced to increase prices but also increase quality to keep up with the evolving dinning scene. Sal explained, "nothing comes frozen or prepackaged, it's all breaded in house". A welcomed change from Mariners' past. I started off with a basket of hot bread and a plate of fried calamari. Calamari was lightly breaded and delicate. I threw some salt on for good measure. My plate of Fra Diavlo was delicious and well-prepared with a nice mix of shellfish. Not too spicy and a large portion of shells to dig through. Thinking about sitting outside on a cool summer evening, with live music that Mariner's puts on all summer, really sounds nice right about now. The strand is always a pleasant place to wash away the stress of a long week or simply celebrate a birthday. I could really go for a drink right now. Scallops with creamy Parmesan risotto

This was such a nice place to eat dinner! The atmosphere was relaxed and there was a sitting area in the enclosed patio that looked out over the Hudson River. It wasn't open yet but it looked lovely. I had the red sangria--it was so good! My meal was the scallops with creamy Parmesan risotto. It was so delicious and rich. I felt like it was a real treat. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the risotto was just so tasty and creamy. I was too stuffed to have dessert but the service was great, the host was super friendly and chatted with us and it was just an overall lovely dining experience.

We had not been here for many years but since the weather was so nice we decided to stop in for a quick bite outdoors overlooking the historic waterfront TR Gallo park. We were not at all disappointed. We ordered the special prosciutto pizza with pear and it was amazing along with the ahi tuna served in a wonton bowl and both dishes were fresh and yummy and paired well together. Our waitress, was very attentive and Linda, the hostess for many years, was quick to stop us and ask us if we were happy with the service and meal on the way out. We admitted that we had not dined here in years because we were not happy with the food or service the last couple times, but it seems things have improved 100% and we will give it another shot soon and let you know if it is consistently good.

Tasty food + beautiful scenery + attentive service, what more can anyone ask for? We were a party of five, arrived at Kingston by boat for brunch, and this restaurant was right there by the water to welcome us. It's an extra large establishment, with spacious outdoor seatings and a sizable team of waiting staff. Any eatery that can satisfy this non-drinking vegetarian gets a 5 star. Everything we ordered is shown in the photos of this review, except for my son's plate of Fish and Chips - he sat a bit far for my phone camera to get a good angle. Although I did not taste everyone's choice, esp. the non-vegetarian options, I could still recommend this restaurant with confidence, judging by my fellow diners' level of satisfaction.

Did not have that great of an experience here. I was in the area to explore Kingston and thought it would be nice to have some seafood. There aren't many seafood restaurants in the area, and I was really hungry so I stopped by. Firstly, I don't know if I am a fan of the fact that the area is not air conditioned. I came in late July when it was super hot and the indoor seating was closed (not sure if that part even had AC to begin with). Not to mention, when I came in the restaurant was pretty empty but I ended up waiting an entire hour for my food. People who came after me had already gotten their food and finished eating before mine came. Secondly, the food seems to be way overpriced compared to the quality of what you're getting. We got a crab cake sandwich and a Zuppa Di Pesce. There was nothing special in my opinion, especially for a dish that costs $30, I expected more quality. I am well aware that it is probably a tourist trap which I walked myself into, but I am generally not that big of a fan of this place. The only thing I would say I liked were their raw clams. But their lobster bisque did not even have any lobster in it or the right lobster bisque flavor

If you eat outdoors it has a beautiful outdoor scenery if the River and boats going up and down. The calamari was light and crisp but the sauce which was good was thick enough to be on spaghetti. It was good. We got the crab cakes where they serve 4 thin cakes with Mayo based sauce smeared on the plate. It may look overdone but it isn't. The raw clams did not look very fresh but they were fine. This was better than the first restaurant we ate at in Uptown. Definitely eat here when you visit.

We chatted with a couple of store owners, and they all recommended Riverview as the place to eat. We had already made reservations there weeks before. We loved the town and enjoyed the afternoon; we highly recommend spending a sunny summer or fall day there. Now about the restaurant. We were given a very good table in a private corner so that we could talk freely without disruption. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We never felt rushed. The ambiance is not the feature here, but there are nice river views and outdoor dining. We sat inside. The food was very good, even if not what I consider haute cuisine. For the first course, I had the watermelon and feta salad; it was nice and refreshing, even if the watermelon was a bit old. For the main course, I had a pork chop with a potato croquette, and my wife had the fish. We both enjoyed our dinners. We finished with two desserts: bread pudding and a Peach melba. Overall, I recommend the Riverview and will probably be back the next time we visit. If you do stop in, say hello to the bartender, Shauan-Michel.

Unfortunately, the pictures+reviews on Yelp are disappointing enough that I almost talked us out of coming here. Hubs still wanted to try it. We were pleasantly surprised. The Bowery D has two flrs. You can sit downstairs- which is used for mostly for events- but we were told most people head upstairs and that's what we did. The main dining rm is carpeted, spacious and has a decent-sized bar. The first thing we noticed was the nice seafood smell in the air. So why come here? Raw oysters for one. Also because hubs has had Lobster Newburgh on his mind lately and the closest thing these folks offer is a mixed seafood Newburgh. He went for it. Result? He liked it. My Swai fish was tasty, though I was expecting something a bit flashier than sweet potato fries. My Jamboozle cocktail didn't have any oomph so I stuck to water after that. Service was great and the food was good. A nice surprise for a spot that doesn't totally shine on Yelp.

The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The servers know the menu well and are happy to make recommendations, making every visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. One of our favorite times to visit is for their weekend brunch buffet, which offers a great variety of options. During the week, their Happy Hour (4-7 PM) is another favorite, especially the $1 oysters. It gets busy, so I definitely recommend arriving early. Just keep in mind that Happy Hour is available only in the bar and lounge area. The restaurant is clean, has a spacious parking lot shared with the neighboring restaurant, and offers a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the river during the warmer months. The patio closes for the winter, but it's one of the best places to dine when the weather is nice. They also have a kids' menu, although my 6-year-old usually orders from the regular menu because she has a very adventurous palate. We're particular about cocktails, and the specialty drinks leaned a bit sweet and light for our taste, but switching to a Grey Goose martini solved that quickly. The standout of the meal was the special appetizer, the Lobster Escargot. Between the bread service and the rich, bisque-like sauce layered over the classic preparation, I could have happily ended the meal right there. We left no trace behind. I followed with the crab cake and wedge salad. The crab cake was generously sized, very fresh, and exactly what I hoped for. My husband ordered the branzino, which was absolute perfection, beautifully cooked and full of flavor. The sides, however, were less memorable; the smashed potatoes and green beans felt under-seasoned and a bit boring compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, it was a lovely anniversary lunch with memorable dishes and a beautiful view.
