This place is terrible and you shouldn't go here. The ambience is lame and food is under seasoned. Service is laughable at best. OK the truth is it's a small diner and if word gets out how awesome it is getting a table will be difficult. Send the city folks to Phoenicia diner and let the locals keep holding this gem close to the chest. read more

I had the corn beef hash. The hash was so mushy couldn't taste the potatoes or corned beef. Eggs were overcooked. Others said their pancakes were real good. No real syrup available to purchase. Very nice staff and it was very clean. read more

I've lived here for so long and never stopped in for some reason... not sure why. First, the place was so cute indoors. The night I went, it was pretty full but still seats available. Service was very quick and friendly. The food though.. omg. I got the pastrami sandwich which was out of this world! You have to get it if you go. I had a mixed drink too, something similar to a tequila sunrise. Took a slice of chocolate torte to go. The food is delicious and so affordable. Next time, I'll be back for breakfast. This was a great spot for lunch while visiting the area. Kind of a hidden gem since its not too big but easy to spot from the road! Our waitress was running the whole place by herself without issue - many thanks to her! It seems like locals frequent this place as well, and I'm not surprised from its hip but cozy interior combined with the great food. Wifey and I were up here with my sister and law and brother in law and they recommended Truss and Trestle. (Full disclosure- my nephew's girlfriend works here) First off - they have a very nice craft beer selection and a full bar. The owner, Gerard, smokes his meats on site and while I only tasted the pulled pork it was the best pulled pork I've had up here in the area. No lie, it is fantastic and my brother in law a burrito with brisket and he raved about it too. Wifey ordered the pulled pork and black bean quesadilla and I had the BBQ chicken and black bean quesadilla. I also ordered a KCBC Zoctoberfest and Wifey had a KCBC Superhero Sidekick IPA. Our quesadillas were freaking amazing. I mean, it's just a quesadilla, right? WRONG!!! There are lot's of great selections on this menu, but if you come here I 100% recommend these quesadillas! You won't walk away from this meal hungry...I'm a big guy and I was stuffed. For dessert we had some kind of cheesecake concoction that was OUT OF THIS WORLD! While visiting the area for the weekend, this place was recommended as an option by our host. We popped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast and loved the place. We sat at the counter and ordered a Bacon, Egg and Cheese and a breakfast burrito. Both were excellent. The staff was friendly, but service was a tad slow. No biggie as we weren't really in a rush. They have a full bar and my wife had a mimosa, which she loved. We enjoyed our meal so much, we returned the next day and tried the French toast and a Sausage, Egg and cheese. Very good again. Definitely worth coming here if you are in the area and looking for an easy, comfortable meal. read more

Plenty of parking, it's right off of route 32 going north on the left in a small shopping area just after passing downtown Rosendale. Fun little hang w a great vibe. I've driven by it on Rt. 32 for a little while now and we woke up this morning wanting an old school diner breakfast. It's what NY is all about so it goes hand in hand. The atmosphere is relaxed, modern but with a vintage Hudson Valley vibe. Walked in and was greeted by a friendly waitress who knew that I was in desperate need of coffee. The menu is a perfect mix for a diner who offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are so many options on there that look amazing and I know I'll be back for lunch and dinner. They even have a great cocktail list for a late night sip and bite. I got the Irish Hangover which is a three egg Swiss cheese omelette with corned beef. We also got the home made corned beef hash, which warms the soul. Their breakfast will absorb any of the previous nights fun and replace it will a slice of normalcy. I love the salmon BLT sandwich (can also get with a crab cake), the Fireworks bagel, chili, the Whole Trestle Mess, pulled pork dinner: it's all been delicious! We went for our birthday dinner last night and it was pretty decent. Some meals were super good and some were ok, but very oily. The French onion soup had lots of onions and very good flavor. Cauliflower wings were super yummy but very thickly breaded. Brisket also had good flavor but was very greasy, as was the Mac and cheese. My club sandwich was really good. Large portions and we were able to eat enough of the food to overlook the oily parts. Crab cake sandwich was to die for, though--a definite highlight. I'd return and maybe try the salads. read more
