A few hours prior Kierra texted me with parking instructions then when we arrived was prompt to meet us (and we were even early) the studio was lovely with such a cute aesthetic and of course smelled amazing. She was patient and very knowledgeable as we built our fragrances, and wanted us to both leave with something we loved. Let's get one thing right before we begin--the QUALITY of the products you get to make rival that of any other high end perfume or scent focused boutique you will visit in ATL. This isn't just a great activity for yourself and for others; you get to take home a product you made that is truly quality. The instructors were absolutely fantastic - so attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. They walked me through all the different scents step by step, which prevented me from feeling overwhelmed by all the choices. For the perfume portion, they were especially helpful in teaching proper scent layering and how to maintain your perfume professionally. The whole experience felt very personalized and well-guided. The space is gorgeous with a really cute pink theme that adds a lovely feminine flair, but it's balanced enough that it would make a perfect date night spot too. It's tucked away in a more secluded location (you wouldn't stumble across it by accident), so make sure to park on the gravel area when you arrive if there's space. Otherwise, the area some street parking options. The venue actually seems connected to another space where you can order drinks, and it's BYOB which is a nice touch. They have the glasses, you bring the alcohol! Even though I went alone, I had a wonderful time chatting with a couple who was also taking the class. Both my candle and perfume turned out beautifully! They provide great containers for the candles and have an amazing selection of scents to choose from. One thing I appreciated is the flexibility - if you're coming with a friend and want to do different activities (one person doing candles, another doing perfume), they can accommodate that. I chose to do both the candle and perfume making, and it was absolutely worth it. As a birthday bonus, they even gave me a special birthday treat associated with the class, which was such a thoughtful surprise! I told them I was looking for a calming oil for my baby to use after bath time as she went above and beyond explaining the difference between relaxation and sleep aid. I was able to sample the Shea butter as well as sniff the different oils. Once she mixed what I chose I was able to smell and determine if I was satisfied. The price for one jar of oil butter missed is 22 but 2 for 40 which is a great deal with the quality of the product. Just a bit goes a long way so I'm sure I will be using this for awhile. They are labeled with a label maker as to what scent they are, and they have a "W" or "M" so you know if it's a men's or women's scent. It's pretty difficult to get an accurate idea of the scent when you're sniffing bottles of oil. But, for the small amount of money they charge for their products, I figured, what the heck? I picked three that I though I'd like, and just went for it. They are awesome! I purchased one lotion, one roll on and one shea butter body oil and I love it. They also sell salt scrubs, sugar scrubs, massage oil candles (these were pretty cool), and larger bottle of the roll-ons. You can add any scent to any product, and you can even combine scents- I'm just not that adventurous. I really hope this place lasts!

Each time she was happy to help without making us feel like we were bothering her. Thank you! The store looks a bit small in comparison to other beauty stores I have been in recently, but it was well stocked and had everything we needed and the prices were all reasonable. 2026,Unacceptable, disrespectful, and Hostile Owner Customer Service…read more As a regular customer and a local Atlanta Black small business owner, I will never step foot in Sunrise Fragrance again. I urge the Atlanta Black community to take our hard-earned money elsewhere. There are three or four other essential oil shops within a short radius that actually value their clientele. The Indian owner/manager showed his true colors with clear discriminatory and hostile energy. When I asked to see a product behind his counter and gently shook the bottle--which anyone who works with fragrance oils knows is standard practice to mix settled ingredients--he aggressively snatched it back, slammed it on the shelf, and refused to let me sample it, stating, "I'm not going to do this with you today." When I pressed him on why he was speaking to me with such hostility, he explicitly told me that my patronage was a "waste of his time" because I don't buy enough every single time I walk through the door. He literally told me, "I'd rather you never come back." I have always been completely respectful and friendly to this man. The positive reviews online are misleading; many of those people likely order online and have never walked into the Sunrise Fragrance Atlanta store to experience his toxic, discriminatory attitude firsthand. This business has capitalized off the local Black community, relying on us to fund yet another foreign owner that treats us like a Black nuisance unless we are spending massive amounts. To make matters worse, the reason I don't buy as much is because the quality of his essential oils and fragrance oils does not justify the steep prices. The oils are overpriced at nearly five times higher than the standard retail cost, and they have a thin, watery consistency that does not perform like authentic, premium essential ingredients. Those who know the essential oil market understand what I'm saying. I only buy from him as a last resort when I need to quickly prepare for a local Atlanta pop-up event and don't have time to order from my regular suppliers online. Before walking out, I told him that our Black community would see a 90% drop in his business because when you disrespect one of us, you disrespect ALL OF US. His response was a dismissive, "Yeah, whatever." When a business owner tells you to your face that you aren't worth his time, believe him. Atlanta, let's come together and stop patronizing businesses that take our money but despise our Black community. As a Black community, we all know how they feel about us, but when they become emboldened to speak out to personally tell us how they feel, then we have to shut them down and let them know where they stand.& Im sure others had this personal run in with this owner,especially is you encounter him in person.My advice is to take your business to the other nearby shops that actually deserve your time to drive downtown & money, or at least won't tell you to your face they will not serve you.
