I was there waiting for my father to get his teeth checked since they messed them up and he's been having pain and she was rude yelling at an older lady asking about if they accepted her insurance and she almost kicked her out. My experience with this dental office has been extremely frustrating due to poor communication, inconsistent information, and delays in care. On April 21st, I was told by the receptionist--after they contacted my insurance--that my crown treatment had been approved and I was scheduled for an appointment on April 28th. I was also told I would proceed with treatment because my temporary filling was dislodging. When I arrived on April 28th, I was initially told I did not have an appointment. Although I was eventually seen, the visit did not reflect what had been previously communicated to me. I was also informed by my endodontist that my crown needed to be placed urgently to avoid complications, but my concerns about the temporary filling were not meaningfully addressed, and no temporary fix was provided while I waited. Instead, I was advised to continue waiting for insurance paperwork that my provider later confirmed is typically just a mailed copy of an electronic approval that had already been given over the phone. After weeks of delay and lack of clarity, I was ultimately told to seek care elsewhere, which will now cause further delays in my treatment. Overall, I felt there was a lack of coordination between staff, unclear communication about my appointment and treatment status, and no urgency around a time-sensitive dental issue. I would not recommend this office for patients who need timely, attentive care which is clearly communicated without discrimination. read more

Front office is terrible. The operation is slipshod, and they often don't answer their phone nor do they listen to what I say. Every time I return for a check up, they need to copy my IDs. Sometimes I have to refill forms, even though nothing has changed on my end. When I was finally able to schedule my last visit on the phone, I specifically asked as to whether or not I would have to submit anything (information, ID) during my visit. I emphasized that I should be told right then over the phone if there would be any problem, instead of waiting until I arrived for my appointment. Well, when I arrived, the first thing that they said was, "Let's see if we need anything from you..." It all went downhill from there. I did not submit what they suddenly asked for, after ignoring my request in advance. In regards to the dentist, she's okay, but sometimes grumpy. She's far from the best dentist I've seen, and I wouldn't have a lot of confidence in her recommendations regarding major procedures. A bad front office often ruins a decent practice. read more

This was my initial visit.  I was scheduled for a cleaning at 10:00am.  I get there on time, only to find out they're not.  They opened 5-10 minutes late.  By the time I was in the dentists chair it was 10:40am.  Then they would not clean my teeth!  I received an exam and x-rays, followed by their suggestions to get an a $350 deep cleaning (which isn't covered). I felt like I was being extorted.  I left confused without my teeth cleaned, a quote to get my teeth cleaned for $350 and an $80 prescription for mouth wash.  What a joke!  I was so frustrated that I called the dentist I've been going to twice a year for the past 10+ years and immediately told him that she said I have gingivitis and inflammation in my entire mouth.  He had just seen me 5.5 months ago and said, "There is 0% chance you have developed gingivitis since I last saw you in October.  She's trying to pull a fast one on you." I just moved to this area, and am unable to go to my regular dentist back in Chicago.  So it looks like I am back on the market and looking for a new dentist, because I certainly won't be going back to Dr. Olga Mikhasko ever again. read more

The most UNPROFESSIONAL AND JOKE of a dentist office I've ever encountered. I've had 3 appointments set up offered only for mondays and they send no reminder text nor an email confirmation! They "call you the day before," yet they aren't open on Sundays so they call on the Friday. 1 out of 3 appointments has the lady who always answers the phone called me to remind me. I called today to set up a new appointment and she offers a Monday appointment AGAIN so I ask if there's another day available cause they didn't call the Friday prior to remind me 2/3 appointments. She then continues to try to argue with me and says she always calls. I tell her I'm not arguing with her and that she did not. She proceeds to tell me she isn't setting up an appointment for me and I can find somewhere else to go. Unbelievably terrible service. After they did my ex-ray and the dentist read my form and did a 2 minute assessment she said there was no time to do a cleaning because I was late and another patient had arrived....!?! My appointment was at 11:30 (I arrived 5 mins early) and I sat down to start writing this now at noon... I'll let you be the judge if this was beyond a waste of my time. SCAMMER ALERT!! find another dentist. SERIOUSLY!! in short, I went to this dentist once. they didn't do anything that I told them I was there to do--a basic cleaning & checkup--& they proceeded to try to scam me into having all kinds of unnecessary work done & to buy unnecessary products from them. I went to another dentist shortly after my visit with them & confirmed that. THEY ARE SHAMELESS SCAMMERS!! if you want to know the details of my experience with them, you can read my original review below: it's very rare for me to write negative reviews. it's only when I find someone to be particularly negligent--or worse--that I feel the need to make a public statement about it. this place is one of those types of businesses. they were the closest dentist to where I was living... they took my insurance--l use denti-cal through the medi-cal program, & this place got pretty good reviews. I was about six months overdue for a cleaning & I figured I should have a general checkup as well. those were the two things I told them I wanted done & they did neither of them. instead, they proceeded to run this elaborate array of x-rays, & then tell me that I had severe gum deterioration, which would require a treatment plan that they would devise. they told me that my insurance wouldn't cover the near $3500 that this would cost. here's the kicker, y'all... I went to another dentist a couple weeks later to get the cleaning that I needed &, of course, to investigate my suspicions that these ladies were trying to jack me... after the dentist did a full checkup & cleaning, & had told me that everything looked normal & good, I asked him if he saw any sign of gum disease or deterioration. none whatsoever is pretty much what he reported. hence this public report. please keep these two things in mind: 1) they never did any of the basic maintenance stuff that I went in there for, & 2) they're milking the government funded program that insured me to pay for these excessive, unnecessary, bogus x-rays. I've been going to dentists since I was a toddler and this was my worst experience. I felt like they were trying to get more money out of me for unnecessary things, the equipment was old and leaked all over, and the staff smelled like they just smoked a cigarette or took a bath in perfume. I also caught the Dr. gesturing things behind my back before my cleaning which made me feel uneasy to say the least. I also had to come in for an exam and a separate appointment for the cleaning, which I didn't appreciate with my busy schedule. the cleaning took no longer than 15 minutes and was not thorough at all. I've never had such a rush job and never encountered such unprofessionalism. I literally switched insurances so I wouldn't ben stuck with experiences like this. read more

I came to Olga's office with some bad mojo from another office. Olga and her staff is very sweet and took care of me promptly. They're also very up to date on technology, which made me feel better after coming from my last bad experience. They seem to accept a lot of different types of insurance. Was assigned to this dentist from my insurance company. If you need a cleaning, which I did because I moved and it had been a year- this dentist won't guarantee you'll get one even if that's why you're scheduling. They insisted that x-rays must be done first and if there's time for a cleaning they will or you need to schedule a second visit. The cleaning- they basically didn't clean. The hygienist (?) only polished my teeth, DID NOT CLEAN PLAQUE like usual dentists do!! not sure if this was because they were annoyed that I made the do the cleaning and ran out of time? Sorry but Who has time to take off work and come back if it's not for a cavity! Oh and the receptionist had a super unfriendly attitude and the place is outdated. If you can choose your dentist, I would say choose one that is willing to do a cleaning when you schedule one, followed by someone who does it right. read more

I have HMO insurance and am very lucky to have Dr. Olga on my network list. Found her through yelp. And though she didn't have too many reviews, everyone rated her well. She is very honest. You can tell she only wants the best for her patients. She follows up with you and she's always on time. There's a woman that has done my last 3 cleanings and she is great too. She gives great advice for ways to care for your teeth. Everyone there is nice and helpful. They are good at taking care of insurance issues for you and can refer you to some good oral surgeons if you need them. The facility is clean. And they do a great job with cleanings. read more

Not a health pro, just extortion. I wish I could give this practice zero stars. I booked them on access dental as I just needed a cleaning. They immediately acted very cagey when I said I just needed a cleaning, wanted me to do x-rays etc. dismissed anything I said, and proceeded to tell me while acting very concerned that I have gingivitis and so I need to schedule a "special cleaning" that costs $150. It sounded like complete BS as I've never had a cavity or any dental issue in my life, my gums don't bleed, nothing. And of course they didn't leave me with any treatment plan or advice. I saw my dentist back home today who said that was completely ridiculous, that of course I don't have gingivitis and just did a normal cleaning. I'm incredibly shocked that someone who is supposed to care for my health would blatantly lie like this and tell me I have a health problem I don't have. I can see from the other reviews that it's not just me so save your time and money and go see someone who actually cares about you and your health, and isn't just trying to extort you. read more

This place was great! I haven't been to a dentist in a long long time and I was nervous about what to expect going back to one. This place takes Medi-Cal so I was expecting something not so good. But I was proven very wrong. I got there early and they took me in immediately, even before my appt, no waiting at all. After some x-rays and the cleaning, I was all set. Olga gave great advice for how to help my teeth until the next cleaning and I made another appt for 6 months. (note: Medi-Cal only covers a cleaning every year, so it'd be $90 for the next visit. Still worth it) I was nervous going in and it was a huge relief afterward. Highly recommend. ...and parking is great, just park underground in the garage for free. :) read more

It really pains me to give a negative review of this place, because I love the dental hygienist and the front desk staff, but to be objective, I think it is necessary. I had been seeing Dr Olga for three years. For average services, cleanings, x-rays, etc., this is a fine establishment. For anything else, however, I'd highly recommend switching doctors as I feel they recommend unnecessary services, and overcharge. Read on for a recap of my experience to further explain: About two years ago, I chipped one of my bottom center teeth and went to see what my options were. I decided to schedule a cleaning for the same appointment to get everything out of the way in one swoop, and was told that I needed to get a crown. I was surprised and reluctant to do this since the chip is minor and cosmetic. I'm pretty diplomatic, and I just didn't feel that a crown was warranted so asked about filling out the chip with a temporary filling. I was told it wouldn't work and that I needed a crown (despite that my front tooth was majorly cracked from when I was younger and even THAT is just a temporarily filling). At my urging, I was reluctantly given an estimate for a crown and a "temporary" fix, but was told that I would have to make a separate appointment to have this done. One thing led to another, I'm a busy gal, and I never made it back to get the chip repaired. The next time I went for my cleaning, I asked for a reminder of the estimate as the chip really does bother me and I DO want to get it done, and the price increased by over $100. Deterred, I put this on the back burner again. Last month, I was eating a soft breakfast, and one of my molars chipped off [I grind my teeth in a very serious way]. When the chip happened, I was imminently leaving [two days] for Sundance for work, then back for one day and then leaving again to go visit my sister for three weeks. Dr Olga was able to fit me in, and I explained that I was leaving town the next day but wanted to get everything checked out to make sure the tooth wasn't at risk of splitting further. When I got to Dr Olgas, low and behold, she told me: "you need a crown." I explained that I figured that would be her response, but that I was leaving the next day and was NOT getting a crown right then, and if I needed a crown it must be serious enough to warrant a temporary solution to protect the tooth during my month of travel / avoid a root canal / help with the pain of my tongue cutting along the chip. We had a bit of a contentious back and forth where I felt that I my opinion was being totally cast aside and like I was absurd for asking for a temporary solution. Reluctantly, Dr Olga put on a "temporary filling." In my mind, this would be the equivalent to what i have had on my front tooth for +10 years, and I was content. I didn't eat or drink anything for three hours, three times the recommended amount, and the temporary "filling" came off that very night. I actually peeled part of it off. It was the equivalent of sticky tack. To back things up for a moment, when I left Dr Olga's I received a quote for the recommended crown from the front desk staff. The estimate was for $700. What! I asked if this was just my portion, or the TOTAL cost for insurance AND my responsibility, and was told no. $700 is just what i owed. I felt this was exorbitant, called my insurance company, and was told that my maximum out of pocket cost for a crown was $350. Outraged feeling again and again that I was just having crowns thrust upon me for minor problems, coupled with the feeling that I was being severely over charged, I immediately switched dental providers. Long story short, and low and behold, I don't need a crown right now. The chip is not major and the health of my tooth is not majorly jeopardized. Of course I may need a crown in the future, but was told it was absolutely not necessary right now, and was ultimately given exactly what I had asked Dr Olga for: a less expensive, sturdy, comfortable, temporary filling. Will never go back here, and am in the process of switching my partner's provider, too. I don't like having unnecessary expenses and procedures thrust upon me, especially when I feel that the doctor doesn't listen to me, regard my circumstances or have my objective best interest at heart. read more

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I had an appointment for my son at 4. I agreed with their time. I canceled my work, my son missed his lessons, and I got there at 4 but there was a huge traffic so we were late for approximately 10 minutes not even more then 10 minutes. I got there and the customer service woman told me that I was late for 10 minutes and she told us that the doctor left because we were late... She was very rude to us, just because we were late and we were in traffic they canceled my appointment by not even calling me and telling me that the doctor was leaving. Plus I was coming from very far I spend 1 hour to get there to just listen how she was telling me that we were late and the doctor left because we were late Approximately 10 minutes in very rude way! She told us that I canceled my first appointment, but that was not true they called us and told us that they did not had electricity and they switched our appointment to another day. I normally never write out reviews, but my insurance company has advised me to share my thoughts with others so no one ever finds themselves in a similar situation again. This is by far the worst experience I have had with a doctor in my whole life (and I've seen doctors across the world). In short, Dr. Mikhasko worked on a new filling after my previous one fell out. She did a rush job, that was done so poorly that my filling fell out after a month (for reference, the previous filling I had lasted me for 5 years, but unfortunately that dentist is now retired). When I came back for an appointment to get the filling redone, the doctor had left the office prior to my appointment, so I had to go back the next day. When I did, I had a nice conversation with Dr. Mikhasko and we made a deal: she would credit me $145 that I paid for the filling and do a crown instead of a filling as a more permanent solution (which she never offered to begin with). However, a couple of days later, I received a call from Dr. Mikhasko's office that they would only credit me half of $145 because the doctor claimed only one filling fell out (the filling spread across two teeth, but it was all in one spot on my molars, so the fact that a part of that filling fell out and a part stayed does nothing to remedy the situation or prevent a possible infection). This, of course, AFTER the agreement we made that I would get the whole credit, so the doctor is clearly a liar who doesn't stand by her word. I cannot trust someone like that do a good job and fix what they have previously messed up. I have now filed a complaint with my insurance company as well as with California Dental Association due to Dr. Mikhasko's rushed, substandard work, and unethical treatment of a patient, including lying to my face. BE WARNED about using the services of this doctor so that you don't find yourself in the same situation paying (what is for me) a lot of money for inferior work, then being lied to your face, and finally refusing to issue a credit as was promised. read more

Even though I was stuck with a new HMO plan, I had high hopes for this place based on the great reviews. It took me 25 minutes to be seen, because apparently everyone had important cell phone calls and cigarette breaks to take. The heavy perfume only made it worse. After 5 minutes of x-rays, getting my gums poked, and being asked incredulously why no dentist had ever told me I had gingivitis before... I was sent back to the front desk so my coverage could be "investigated." Receptionist told me to come back for a "deep cleaning" at $338 (seems to be a trend here). No cleaning, no respect, no way. I had heard dentists will try to screw HMO patients with unnecessary procedures and apparently it's true. Save yourself the scamming and spring for a PPO. You'll probably get treated better here, or gain access to dentists who don't deliver care on a sliding scale. read more
