    Update: they reached out to me with a text that goes "I do apologize" and then, of course, goes straight to "but." They seem unable to understand why offering times that aren't all actually all available and then asking for more dates and times with no follow up communication of any sort as each date passed might alienate someone. I understand that canceling and rescheduling needs to occur, but they handled a need to reschedule with a very low level of professionalism. I was texted with alternate times, texted back within ten minutes, got told that the only time that worked for me was already taken; I wrote back with days and times when I was available, and I was assured that they would be in touch. No one reached out after that, either to find a time then or to make an actual *phone call* to find an appropriate time. If I can't trust you to do this basic stuff, I am not trusting you with my teeth.

    I want to start from the beginning. I was a fan of Birdseye Dentistry. They were a clean facility the hygienists were good and the dentists were good. Then it was recommended I get a new night guard. I agreed. I had no reason to not trust the recommendation. A night guard is not a cheap appliance, from the form they provided me it was about 220 dollars. I signed up and waited for my appliance. It had been over a month and a half since I paid and still no word. I called to check on the status of my appliance. They put me on hold. The person came back and told me no one can find it. No one knew where it was. I was irate. They didn't think it was a big deal and then they said they'll expedite for a new one at no extra cost. Like they were doing me a favor. I put in a negative Yelp review. Their office contacted me. And that's when I was introduced to... Diane. Diane is their office manager? When I explained to her the situation she was very dismissive. She was making it out not to be a big deal and didn't understand why it was a big deal to me. It was a constant dismissive attitude. She would not even apologize until I laid out how it was all their fault. Then she had the audacity to say "We should use this as a learning moment." I am sorry, but what do I have to learn from this moment? Your dismissal your negligence? Later that day I was going over the situation with my insurance advocacy group. They saw some irregularities from what Birdseye claims insurance paid versus what insurance did actually pay. They said this was a form of balance billing - something apparently illegal in California. I called Diane. Diane who felt she had the upper hand very smuggly asked "Did you sign the paperwork when you paid for this?" I responded, "Yes, but there is a discrepancy in the amount." She then repeated "Did you sign the paperwork for this?" It was clear there would be NO conversation about the irregularity and she felt she won. When the appliance finally came the Dentist apologized profusely for the situation. She offered to reimburse me fully for the apparatus. When I left I canceled all future appointments Diane was smug and said "We can forward your X-Rays to your new dentist." When I followed up on the refund, they sent me to Suzanne. Suzanne sent me an email. If I wanted the refund I would have to sign an agreement. It read like a non-disclosure agreement and it had some threatening language in there like, if I did talk about my experience I would be liable to lawsuit. I felt icky about this. I asked questions to Suzanne. But I couldn't get Diane's smugness and how they tried to steal money from me from their suspicious billing practices out of my head. I chose not to sign and filed a grievance with Delta Dental. You can see they DID INDEED find irregularities. They said Suzanne would be issuing me a refund for the overcharge. I did not get anything nor hear from Suzanne. I called to follow up two weeks later. Suzanne was trying to get out of sending me the refund. She was insisting, again, I need to sign an agreement saying it was their common practice. That I could not talk about the situation. I told her I would tell Delta that they are refusing to issue the refund. She finally called Delta and then agreed to give me what I was owed without having to sign their incriminating agreement. One thing I learned from this, not a lot of people have the luxury I do and have an advocacy group to guide me. People do NOT be afraid to question and compare your bill with the insurance company. Birdseye apologized, but I believe it's only because they got caught. There's no doubt in my mind that Diane was never reprimanded. Honestly I think she probably got a raise for trying to deter me from discussing my bill. And Diane if you read this - thank you. Your treatment and negligence allowed me to see you were doing something not right.

    Dr. Millie Chung has cured my lifelong fear of the dentist! I love her straightforwardness and no fuss approach. I find this to be honest and relaxing. She's knowledgeable and informative when you ask questions. She's got technique down so I never feel any pain even when getting a shot! The staff are wonderful as well. Cindy is a stellar hygienist. She's the best kind of chatty and I wish I could chat back during our sessions, but I've always got my mouth full. They've got all the hi-tech gear in there. Very up-to-date office. Bright, tidy, and clean. My journey with Dr. Chung started in 2021. I hadn't been to the dentist in six years (financial/insurance reasons). She brought my teeth to a healthy stage and we started Invisalign. My teeth are now healthy and straight after six months of wearing braces! Whitening is next!!

    Dr. Chung wanted to charge me for 500 more dollars to send for a crown, limiting other options for personal reasons. She then reaffirmed her decision was non negotiable, which was seemingly quite select in response. Does it really need a root canal? I believe the damage to premolar number 13 is coming from molar number 14 seen pictured noticeably angled, anteriorly projecting the nearby pre molars posterior section, and externally contacting the tooth, superficially. Also, premolar 13 has previous fillings thats been compromised and the surface surrounding the filling shows signs of penetration that may be present around its outer immediate void. Does the premolar need a root canal, and can it be filled by molding a filling without losing the integrity of the outer encapsulation of the tooth's cavity structure ...interesting question, -but I feel a "non negotiable stance" means the chance of searching for signs of sealing and molding the tooth is of inopportune interest. After discovering the same machine that made my crown in house, previously. I felt there was more to her non negotiable reasoning. I also think she missed an opportunity to be able to recreate the first impression that allowed me to return to her practice, even afterwards. I read some negative reviews on Yelp and Google but my experience with Dr. Safa was nothing but professionalism and expert care and treatment. I would give more stars if Yelp allowed it. I only felt a tiny bit of discomfort at the initial injection but after that, no pain since. I've had other root canals at other dentist offices a long time ago and they took over an hour to finish and it was painful. I would recommend my family and friends to see Dr. Safa if they need an Endodontist. I hope I don't need another root canal, but if I do, I'm happy to come back here. Is it a bit pricey? Yes, but in my humble opinion, you're paying for expertise and quality care. My tooth is pain free, my blister is gone, and I can't believe I tolerated the discomfort and occasional pain related to the condition of my tooth for as long as I did before Dr. Safa treated it.     I'm fresh off having a root canal done here by Dr. Yu and it was a great experience. From setting…read moreup the initial consultation to getting the actual procedure done (on the same day), it was seamless. I was in/out of there in a little over two hours. Upon walking in to the office, I was welcomed by a nice staff person who instructed me to fill out some paperwork. I was then taken to a room for the consultation. Dr. Yu advised to have a root canal based on his evaluation. I was then moved to another room for the actual procedure after having anesthesia injections into my mouth. After some prep work done by his very comforting staff, it was time for the games to begin! I appreciated how his staff guided me through the prep work and explained what they were doing. It honestly feels really weird to have your mouth wide open while having strange objects being placed inside. During the procedure, I could see they were passing instruments back/forth. There were weird sounds, noises and smells. I never felt uncomfortable as they always checked in to see if I was doing OK. Before I knew it, the procedure was over and Dr. Yu went over recovery expectations and the like. Overall, it was a very efficient and comfortable process. Hopefully I won't need to return anytime soon but it's nice to know that this office is available in the local area.

The whole experience was just really wonderful. Easy to book an appointment, friendly staff, and parking is just great. Dr. Yu is amazing and the reviews do him justice. He answered all my questions and I just felt so much peace of mind getting his professional opinion on a root canal. The procedure itself was painless and I can tell you I was nervous about the whole experience. Yesterday, I had an amazing experience while getting my teeth pulled. Dr. Kalasho did lovingly "scold" me, but it came from a place of genuine care and concern. I truly felt like a VIP--watching Netflix with a weighted blanket, under-eye patches, and even provided reading glasses so I could relax comfortably while enjoying my movie. This morning, I woke up with no pain, just some expected soreness in my jaw, but no discomfort in the treated area. I was even able to go to work without any issues.     1st off Dr. Kalasho closed this office…read more I had Dr. Kalasho do a root canal and the crown and remove my wisdoom tooth in Jan 2025. I had no problems with the work done, or at least I though so.. In the spring of 2025, I went for a checkup, and Dr Kalasho was on leave and her replacement told me I developed another 2 cavities... just a few months after the original cavity was fixed. I couldnt believe my ears and I agreed to fix it. However, they had just closed the Hollywood office, and the closest location would have then been in Beverly Hills and I had no interest in visiting not even once. And I didnt have time to look for a new denist in the area. Fast forward to the spring 2026, I went to 2 different reputable denists in the area and they both said I had no cavity in that tooth.. I was in awe. Questions came flashing back.. Why every time did I have to sign the waiver 10x longer and more specific than at other denist's I have gone to? Why I was charged 5k for a crown that another denist said did not have that u-shape that teeth have to block most of the food in between the teeth? Was it as bad as I was made to believe? I don't know. But my suspicious makes sense. The office and the equipmennt that looked better than I have seen in Hollywood movies. Friendly chit-chat WITH LITERALLY EVERYONE in the office. Talking about families, sharing personal stories, laughing together. And then the friendly by the way reminder.. Do you want to prepay? Let's take care of this bill right away etc etc. At the end of the day, however, I couldnt shake the feeling how forced the interactions appeared. Too good to be true, fake. Well.. now, I know for sure.
