You're probably reading these reviews the same as I did before choosing to visit. I'm always skeptical when anything gets mainly 5 star reviews, but figured I'd give them a try. As is true with all the other reviews, I'm now a believer. I loved my last dentist, but he's now 2500 miles away. This experience was equally as good. The quality of the equipment for x-rays is far superior to what I've seen previously. And the assistant who took the x-rays was both efficient and had a lovely personality. When I got to see the dentist she had all the information necessary to determine whether anything needed attention. I explained that at my age (70+) I wasn't interested in anything cosmetic and preferred a conservative approach. She respected me and made no attempt to upsell me on anything. I left feeling extremely comfortable that if I need any dental work she'll be a partner who is most interested in my care. I also was able to have a cleaning immediately after the exam. That, too, was professional and thorough. I thought the charges for everything were very reasonable. read more

I had both my Invisalign treatment and later a teeth cleaning done here, and I've been extremely happy with every experience. I came in for a second opinion regarding minor pain on one tooth and ended up receiving recommendations for Invisalign for grinding along with additional laser treatments. What gave me pause was that I've consulted other orthodontists in the past about Invisalign for small cosmetic concerns, and the consistent feedback had always been that my teeth were already well aligned and moving them could potentially create more issues than benefits. Because of that, I felt uncomfortable with how quickly extensive treatment was recommended for what appeared to be relatively minimal contact points, especially when continued night guard use was dismissed as a "band-aid." Seeing so many Invisalign ads throughout the office did not help that feeling. While these recommendations may be appropriate for some patients, I personally left feeling more sold to than educated, and uncomfortable with how my questions were met with defensiveness. I ultimately decided to seek care elsewhere. Everyone in the office was kind (although another reviewers mention of the stepford wives vibes isnt far off), so I feel bad leaving a review especially over a subjective experience but I think it's important to share and encourage patients to ask detailed questions, explore conservative options as well, and make sure they feel fully informed before committing to extensive treatment. read more

It's rare to find a business or service provider that goes the extra mile these days, and I'm really grateful these Doctors took the time to reach out and rectify the situation. Again, my dental hygienist (shout out Sera) has always been both the nicest and most meticulous hygienist I've ever worked with (hilarious, too) and both of the dentists have been incredibly educational and patient centric. Dr Taline and her staff at Dental Design in Studio City are amazing. It is sometimes challenging to find a wonderful dentist, but I found one and followed her as she moved from Thousand Oaks to her current location in Studio city. Dr Taline has been my dentist for over 10 years and all of her staff are wonderful. I had a dental emergency today and they graciously accommodated me. I apologize for missing some names, but today Blanca was exceptionally outstanding. Sara, Madonna and Natsumi have also gone above and beyond. Dr. Taline is the best and you will actually enjoy going to the dentist and relaxing in their office's eclectic decor. read more

I cannot stress enough how amazing this place is! As someone who's always had dental anxiety, this place has completely changed the way I view going to the dentist. The entire team is so kind, so helpful, and so patient. They reach out to check in, they help you find specialists, and they educate you! I genuinely look forward to coming in and seeing the amazing staff and beautiful art throughout the office. Major plus - they offer to put Netflix on during your appointment! Just switched over to Dr Sako as I was not happy with my previous dental office (they kept switching me to different providers every visit). Dr Sako and his team were very welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. Front desk team did my intake and got me settled in a nice cozy office, where new xrays and measurements were done. Dr went over the finding and proceeded with the routine cleaning and care. As my appointment was going longer, the front desk team went out of their way to feed my parking meter. Very good customer service here, and very professional staff. They're also great at communicating with their patients, which is always appreciated. It's always a positive experience overall, and I especially like that they have a big screen right in front of you with Netflix up and your own headphones during your cleaning to help pass the time. First time and it was really pleasant. Everyone is upbeat and personable and I really liked Dr. Taline. She did not try to find things wrong with my teeth or point out anything that my previous dentist missed, etc., so immediately the trust was formed. I usually fear x-rays (they typically have been uncomfy and hurt elsewhere) but here - this was so easy! I can't say enough good things about this place! Is this a dental office or a spa? I was so relaxed. I didn't want to leave. The front desk staff Wendy and Nani were just as nice/professional as they sounded on the phone. Jennifer, who took my X-Rays, was super friendly. Madonna, who cleaned my teeth, was attentive and seamless. The Dentist Taline was quick, informative, and was super helpful with no BS or overselling. And yes, what you're seeing in the photo is correct; they even have a TV for you to watch, while you get your teeth cleaned. Honestly, I forgot I was at the dentist. My last experience at a different dental office wasn't so pleasant, so thank you for making this experience so much better. This review is way overdue. Not one to go on and bash businesses but I will say that I do not believe they are the right kind of dentists if you need work done. If you want a cleaning and get a cavity here or there - I'm sure they are fine. But my personal experience tells me that's all they are good for. They missed an entire infection in my tooth - she actually wanted to extract the wrong tooth. Then they try to rip you off. They wanted almost $500 for an extraction (i have dental insurance) and something wasn't sitting right with me. Needless to say I ended up going to an oral surgeon who came highly recommended. He found the infection; made sure the right tooth was taken care of and guess how much they charged me...$47. I don't trust Dr. Taline at all. read more

It can be a long wait for a routine checkup and cleaning, but it is worth the wait. As long as you schedule your next appointment after your visit, you'll be fine. Amazing place! Cannot recommend them enough. I have been living in the area for a few years now and have had experiences with a few different dentists ranging from ok to terrible. I'm so glad I decided to schedule here! Scheduling and check-in was a breeze. The front desk staff was lovely. I arrived a little early and they still put me in a room immediately. The technician was so nice and welcoming (I'm sorry, I didn't catch her name), and she listened to all of my concerns and conveyed them to Dr. Taline Kotchounian, who also listened to me and addressed each question I had, ranging from basic teeth health, to Invisalign issues I was having with another provider, to options for a bad case of TMJ I've been suffering from for years. She was very kind, helpful, and thorough. After the consult, the hygienist, Sarah (hopefully spelled that right), cleaned my teeth. She was so sweet, pleasant, and fun! She even cleaned my Invisalign trays/retainers. After my previous bad experiences with dentists, I have quite a bit of anxiety over going to dentists in general - but my experience here was absolutely great and I would recommend going!
