Extremely Unprofessional Experience I had a 9:00 AM appointment today, which I scheduled a month in advance. When I arrived, an employee informed me that she had forgotten the key to the building and that I would need to wait another 30 minutes. I asked if the doctor could let us in, but she said the doctor wouldn't arrive for another 30-45 minutes. I was frustrated and asked why they scheduled me for 9:00 AM if they knew no one would be there to let me in or see me at that time. She offered to reschedule, but I had already rearranged my whole day for this appointment. When I asked if this kind of thing happens often, she insisted it wouldn't happen again--but I'm not confident. This wasn't my first red flag either. It's already difficult to get in touch with this office--calls often go unanswered, and communication is poor. The lack of professionalism today was the last straw. I never received a follow-up call as promised, and I'll now be contacting my insurance provider to switch to a new dentist. I do not recommend this office. Unreliable, unprofessional, and not respectful of patients' time. read more

Although Dr. Ramin is a highly skilled dentist and we are happy with his restorations, he and his office have questionable billing practices. He uses non existent ADA codes for procedures, claims the service isn't covered by your insurance then makes you pay in full up front. We demanded an itemized bill and submitted it ourselves to Delta Dental. They corrected the code and processed claim. They even allow additional $$ for the material he used. We should have paid only $546.00 but had to pay $1350.00 upfront. Our repeated requests for a refund of $804 have been ignored. Oh and they billed our insurance for services not rendered and only submitted a correction for one of us. They pulled the same "it's not covered" scam on a friend that we referred for his care for a crown. Really, what insurance plan doesn't cover crowns? Other than preventive care, do not get work done by Dr. Ramin without getting the pretreatment estimate from your insurance. read more

If you come here, be sure to check your insurance claims. I came to this office in December 2018 because I had a very terrible toothache and every single dentist within my network was booked for the day. I called their office and I felt so lucky to be able to get an appointment. Everything was billed fine for this visit BUT they re-billed my insurance again in April 2019 when I didn't even visit their office after my December 2018 visit. They billed my insurance for over $7k worth of work that I NEVER had done. Everything that they billed was related to the tooth that I had pain in. This tooth had previously had a tooth canal so they billed for a new crown and several other things. Disputing the claim with my insurance was a total nightmare as you can imagine. Please, please, please, if you come to this dentist be sure to check your insurance claims as they are SHADY and will bill you for things you never received AND even visits that never happened. read more

What a mess. I got in the office and it took them an hour to see me, but that was just the start. I had imaging done in order to get a referral for wisdom tooth removal, but never heard any follow up and tried calling the office for literally WEEKS to hear an update. I went in for a cleaning in 2022 and was told I would need a root canal. I have coverage through Denti-CAL (medi-CAL) and needed to be approved for the procedure. The day of the cleaning I was told they would submit the authorization request. Well, I learned a few weeks later that it was sent to the wrong provider. I asked them to send the authorization request to Denti-CAL and they said "so sorry, of course, consider it done." Three weeks later, and still no record of an authorization request. This is not your typical large dental group with no personal touch. This dental office has a very positive vibe and homey ambience. They have the latest and upgraded equipment. The office is very clean and very organized. I am always assured of the wait and expectations. Every procedure is explained thoroughly. I like that they are open on saturdays but it is impossible to get a schedule since it is always full. Staff is courteous BUT they make empty promises on call backs. When they say they will call, that will NEVER happen. If you try to call, no one answers. Leave a vmail, no one calls you back. Dr Tour has very light hands, which eased me very well in the dentist chair. He was very concerned about my oral health which is rare in most dentists. He took his time with the check up, with all the picture-taking and x-rays. One thing I hated was when his assistants would take over, they do not observed cleanliness. They would put on gloves, then touch the closet knob or other stuff then put their fingers your mouth! And worse, they don't put on their mask and they'll just start talking to you with your mouth wide open! Also they are not well-versed with what the insurance covers. Went to his other location in Reseda, and all this guy cares about is money. I got two composite veneers done by him the first time for $500. They didnt even last me a year (expected to last 5 yrs). Since he said it was my fault they broke he charged me another $250 to do them again. I made the bad choice of paying him again, as they fell off yet again in less than a yr. He voluntarily agreed to fix it once more, which he lied and all he did was try to harden the broken piece back on which lasted a week. finally went to another dentist and the guy fixed them for FREE!!! A dentist that did the same work for free has lasted nearly two yrs and still going strong. He is a joke of a dentist and do not trust this man at all. read more

Just want to say how wonderful this dental office is. I called a couple of weeks ago to see if they were even open, because of the covid. And to my surprise they were but only for emergencies. Luckily my issue was an emergency and I was able to be seen. My insurance was sending me somewhere else that I was not happy with. But Teresa was able to help me out to have my insurance switch to be able to go see them. Went in today for my final procedure and I walked out with a beautiful smile. I just want to say thank you. Closest dentist that took my insurance. Seemed fine for first 2.5 years if a little rushed, but hey - he's open on Saturdays. Last time I went in, I mentioned that I was worried about gum recession and told him my grandfather (who's 85!) has some gum issues. He pokes me for a second and says i need special gum treatments that are "probably not covered" by my insurance. I respond with "can I get a routine cleaning and have you write down the special treatments so I can talk the insurance company about it?" at which point he says the ADA would revoke his right to practice if he gave me a routine cleaning since I have "gum disease". I walked out. Went to Wilshire Center Dental where they assured me i have normal gum recession for my age and told me to be careful not to overbrush and keep up flossing daily. I will have to admit, being that for some reason I had an HMO dental insurance, which btw I'm changing this December...I was nervous about the Dentist that were available on my provider list. Which they did with ease, and very little pain. My appointment was at 9am and I was done around 12noon. I just inspected my filling in the mirror and Dr. Ramin did a great job! WARNING: INSURANCE FRAUD I visited this dentist's office once in 2018 and was not impressed. The facilities are old and the hygienists were rough. After the sub par experience I did not go back. I recently signed up for coverage under a new dentist and my insurance told me I had a claim pending from a dental cleaning done with Ramin Tour's office in Dec. 2019. I told them this was impossible as I hadn't been there in almost two years. I called the dental office and a woman told me they had a patient with my same name and had filed the claim under the wrong name and they would fix it. I called my insurance two weeks later and they said no one has contacted them. Now this dentist's office is ignoring my calls and messages so I will need to go through the trouble of disputing the claim through my insurance. I'm guessing from other recent reviews this is a scam they run pretty regularly. Do not take the risk of going here even once. This dentist should lose his license. read more
