The new "fresh grill" concept needs a lot of work. I understand they are trying to get creative in the labor shortage but this is not it. First you go and order similar to Panera. Then you get your own drinks, silverware, napkins, condiments, etc. except I lot twist they are completely out of everything. We even asked one of the employees walking around for some napkins and she said they were all out, even in the back. Then your food is delivered to your table. However if you ordered an appetizer, you don't get it until all of your food comes. And if your food is wrong then good luck getting it corrected. Not a lot of employees/waiters walking around and checking on you. After you get to bus your own table. The place was very dirty as well. The prices are still the same and they even ask if you would like to tip. We did tip but probably wouldn't have if we would have know you do mostly everything yourself. Terrible experience. I usually order take out from the Olga's in Brighton and have never had s bad experience, for some reason I couldn't get ahold of the Brighton location so I decided to use the novi location. There was a special running on the tv for that week so I called in for the special. I was told my order would be ready and I was given a total with the promo over the phone. I went to pick up my order and the take out lady did not acknowledge the price change with the promo. I asked her why this wasn't taken off she said she would fix it and took my credit card. She returned with my credit card ran and told me she could only honor the promo one time. I asked her why she ran my card before relaying this information to me? I told her I was not made aware of this over the phone when I made the order so running my card with out acknowledging the price change was misleading. I called the manager who did not seem to care and told me she would give me a sandwich upon my next visit. I was charged an additional $20 that was not approved before it was ran and you will credit me for a $5 sandwich?!!! In my opinion this place has terrible management that does not train their employees. The employees were unaware of the promotions that was running on the tv for a whole week. I am originally from Detroit, but have been living out of town for a 10+ years. Olgas was on of my must haves while in Michigan. I ordered online and arrived to pick up and there wasn't any staff at the front register. After a 5 minute wait some one came out and I let them know that I had placed an order online. He told me he couldn't find it in the system. I had to pull up a confirmation email and then he said hold on and went to the back. He came out a few minutes later and said yes they have the order and they are preparing it now. He disappeared into the back for 10 minutes, but another employee emerged out the back and placed an order on the counter behind the register, she then went to the back. I had no one to ask if that was my order, and she did not ask if I had been helped. She came back again 5 minutes later and moved the back to a pick up rack and went back into the kitchen. She still did not acknowledge me and the first gentleman never returned to the front...I walked over to the rack and the order that sat behind the counter for a long period of time, and then was moved to the pick up rack was mine. I was upset, but had somewhere to be and didn't have time to wait for someone to come from out the back again...Do not eat here...My order was also messed up, I asked for extra Olga sauce on my wrap and I got no sauce at all...just a dry wrap. I agree with everything Susan M. said. We used to go to the Olga's at 12 Oaks for many many years before it closed, so this location on Grand River in Novi became our go-to. Even before they changed to the fast casual concept, the floors, tabletops, and menus were consistently sticky, silverware appeared dirty (if we were even given any...most times we had to get our own silverware, plates, condiments off of other tables). Yet, we still went to this location on occasion because they are the closest to us. We were disappointed when they changed to the new concept without warning because we loved the unlimited soup, salad and snackers option, which they had JUST advertised, but no longer had. Portions are definitely smaller and the overall quality of the food seems to have gone downhill. Sure, it's convenient to pick up your order off of a shelf, but the taste and quality should still be on point, especially if they don't have to pay servers anymore. They say that people don't take time to write positive reviews, only negative ones. Well, I don't write ANY reviews unless I feel strongly one way or another. I am compassionate and understanding to the fact that a lot of businesses, especially restaurants are struggling right now. I don't want to bash anyone unnecessarily. I will still order food here, maybe just for carryout because I've always loved Olga's, but just hope for better! This is a great location, nice building with plenty of parking and seating inside. This Olga's is our favorite location. We drove out of the way to come eat here. Other locations I have found to have shady staff and questionable freshness of food. This location however is seriously clean, with very clean restrooms. who doesn't love a spinach pie or an Olga sandwich. Heck, how about both with an orange cream cooler to wash it down? Darn, I'm getting hungry just talking about it. Olga's will always hold a special place in my heart and I'm so glad that this location is top notch. It fulfills my needs when I'm craving it. Corporate does need to place more strict company guidelines tho and clean up some of the other locations.. west Bloomfield and Royaloak to name a couple. My husband and I dined at this location recently. We were both up all night with nausea. We shared snackers and each had an Original Olga sandwich. The table was spotty and the floors were really dirty. The service was slow but our server was very nice. It just seemed like a lot of employees standing around. We may have been there during a shift change, it was around 4:45. I don't know...it was just ugh. We didn't actually get sick but we felt horrible all night. This is a good Olga's location. Its always been clean with quick staff to help us out with anything we need. I always eat my sandwich and then help myself to some of my wife's steak sandwich as well. It isn't quite enough to fill me up unless I get the unlimited deal. This location does consistently good work with the meals but is also consistently adding too much flavoring to the snackers. I stopped by this location to grab my sister something that she could eat on her break at work. It took 5 minutes to get a girl to the Togo counter and when she finally came through the door, she was scratching her head and didn't even say hi.. "what's your name" and then she walked back into the kitchen. She came back out and asked what i wanted, told her and she said it would be 5 minutes. Waited 15 minutes for a salad, i didn't even get a protein on it for it to take this long. Didn't even say thank you or anything while we left. Well, this location has gone to hell in a hand basket, or at least our experience did. It took our Server more than 5 minutes to greet us and then another 24 minutes to get our grub. I've never had a bad experience here. Service is better than most Olga's. My problem with Olga's in general is how horribly calorie-dense their food is. Nearly everything on the menu will set you back 1000 calories. Zucchini fries? 960 calories. Brownie dessert? 900 calories. Etc. I'd be curious if Olga's sales would decrease if Olga's put calorie information on their menu. You would think their food was relatively healthy. Anyway, the restaurant and bathrooms are clean. We arrived around 5pm on a Friday evening....there were only about 3 other families there....hmmmmmm. we stood at the front counter for quite a few minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us and seat us, no one in sight....again.....hmmmmmm. Someone finally came out from the back, kinda of grunted at us, asked us if we were picking up an order, no, we would like to be seated. He grabbed 2 menus, a waitress finally came by and told him she would seat us. As we are taking off our coats, the waitress asks if we need a few minutes to decide what we wanted or are we ready to order....again....hmmmmm.....we havent even sat down yet! As I stated st the beginning, this was our first time at an Olga's, not a good start, but ok. We open our menus. Didnt realize that it was pretty much just gyro type sandwiches, not a biggie, we both like gyros. I guess we just assumed there would be a larger selection. I ordered Olga's original, my husband the Chicken Shawarma. We both ordered curly fries. Dinner arrived, my husband said his was tasty, mine was just ok. Fries were overly seasoned. All in all, the prices were reasonable, the food was mediacore, our server was pleasant enough, the atmosphere reminded us of a denny's. However, two recent issues with the food - cold fries and sandwich on one occasion and then the ultimate no-no---hair on the plate. I get it, this happens, BUT, the waitstaff here seems to be more appropriate to that of a Denny's or cheap diner. The staff is pleasant and attentive enough, but they look rough. Dirty clothes, hair flying around, etc. I'm not looking for a glamorous staff, but these folks look like they just rolled out of bed. Not appetizing. Put the hair up and wash your clothes. I think they need to spruce up the place and stop acting like it's a fast food/diner. I've not been to other locations to see if this is a common theme or if it's localized due to the manager having trouble hiring more dynamic and put-together staff. read more

The tables are clean, even during a rush they'll seat new people in 5-10 minute intervals ( they had to close half their tables so they only allow 1/2 the guests they used to).
