On here it says the place closes at 6pm, on Google search it says they close at 5:30pm, and when you go to the actual establishment they tell you that they close at 5pm. Three different closing times for one establishment. I came all the way down from Yonkers in the rain to get a sweater and a jacket and was told they were about to close after arriving at 4:50pm. They need to establish one closing time and stick with it because it's very confusing and time consuming. read more

Not sure what the bad reviews are. But so far my experience, as long as you show up they are extremely helpful and accommodating. There might be some issues or delays with phone contacts. But everytime I've gone, the phone was ringing off the hook and the woman was dedicating her time to helping me or another customer. I can see with low staffing it's hard to do it all by yourself. My partner and I came here to purchase firearms on July 7, 2020. They told me to call them if I didn't hear from them in 2 weeks. I called them and emailed them, no answer. I finally get through to someone on August 9th....I got through but I didn't get anywhere as they asked in a very hostile and rude tone if they could help me. I was hung up on shortly there after. They are decent to some people because another one of my partners called for us on Tuesday and managed to have a conversation with one of the people who works there. She stated we were waiting and it's been over 30 days, they proceed to tell her that they don't have our firearms (that we secured with a down payment of half) and that no one has any of the one in particular that we wanted. That was a lie because we called around and a few stores did have them. They agreed to give us a refund. We go to the store and that's where I was verbally attacked and insulted by the old lady owner. She asked me why I couldn't wait and when I told her it's been over 30 days and no one has contacted me to tell me anything, she told me- "Good!, I don't need your business!" I was so livid, I couldn't even count my money, then she said, "Look at her, she can't even count." Needless to say, I was infuriated, flabbergasted, disgusted, shocked and any other adjective you can think of to describe my feelings. I told her to Kiss My Ass and left. I will take my business elsewhere and NEVER patronize this business again. read more

folks its getting crazy and bad out there especially the last 8 years in nyc which is mostly due to terrible liberal politicans and terrible laws that seem to protect criminals and leave law abiding citizens to fend to themselves so when the supreme court overturned that insane law which made it hard for law abiding citizens to carry concealed firearms for protection i was one of the many new york state resident that was happy finally. went to olinville arms in the bronx mostly for some info and the staff were excellent in explaining everything i needed to know in simple english about gun purchases, gun shooting range protocol and all the rules and licenses formalities. not a convicted felon, not mentallly ill, not nothing , which means i am all good to go . i filled out all the necessary form or forms needed and now waiting for nypd to issue my carry permit and once i am all good to go, i will be back to olinville arms to practice at the indoor range and listen totally to the instructor about gun safety , gun cleaning and how not to shoot myself in the foot due to carelessness. read more

I've never had a negative interaction with any employee, so I really don't understand the negative reviews. I treat them with respect, and they always respond in kind. I am new to Olinville Arms but I do not agree with all these negative reviews. I am a member there and every time I go there to shoot I am treated with the upmost respect. They are very knowledgeable about their products that they sell and give great customer service. The pricing is reasonable and they have a decent variety of products to choose from. I've been to other gun ranges where they are so overpriced and offer the same stuff. So be your own judge and don't go by some of these reviews. Go there and enjoy. read more

Lisa, I am generally not rude when it comes to my comments, hell I even give really bad Uber ratings a 5 still because it's their lively hood, but I wasn't upset at the fact that your company would not let me purchase a firearm which I stated, I was extremely upset at the way this gentlemen (who even had previous bad reviews from other customers) treated me. I am not a retired Law Enforcement officer, I am still in the service, LEOSA's have two types active and retired. And no, all that is required is to show you are a LEO per ATF and state regulations, which I am a DoD LEO, which my license states. Some of the things you stated about the LEOSA is completely inaccurate such as being able to carry on bases (you can't carry on federal property even with LEOSA) and that it's limited to the state (it is a federal carry license). So that in itself seems as if your company hasn't done its research. I've purchased firearms at 2 different stores now with in this area, and a few of my LEOSA colleagues have as well, your store has seemed to be the only issue. My colleague that referred me to your store simply used his U.S Marshall Benevolence card, not even a license, he thought it was kind of comical and will not be returning as well. Again, the biggest issue I had was more with your worker. Hopefully he treats people better especially within the same profession whether they want to purchase a firearm or buy other gear. read more

Service was decent but through clerical mistakes on their behalf and sending incorrect info to state i had to wait almost 4 months for my firearm when there should only be a 2 week wait. One woukd think theyd throw in a free week or 2 extra range time after all this or even an apology. But no. So try another, dont.let this store be your only option read more

I took the 47 Hours Class to get and upgrade for my Security License and my instructor Don was excellent he a retired NYDP Officer. He explained in class prevent accident, principal of marksmanship, sight alignment/trigger control,combat shooting, malfunction drills, NYS Penal Laws Article 35 Use force/DPF, justification. While training shooting he showed us a technique how to fire a fire arm the right way and how to position our-self when shooting. After he showed us these technique I shot 99% the first day, the second day 100%, third day 100%, fourth day 100%. I followed every detail he spoke about in class and also in shooting and these scores was my results. With that being said I do recommend taking this class and training and most importantly pay attention to what Don says he very knowledgeable read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to shoot within the city, and saw this place on groupon. It is a bit of a travel up to the Bronx, but nothing unbearable (we were coming from Queens though). They have I believe 6 or 7 stalls, but we were the only ones there at the time which was great. A few people came in after us that seemed to be regulars there, as they knew all the staff. Everyone was really friendly. The instructor was really helpful. My boyfriend is an experience shooter, so he let him just shoot even though the groupon was for an "instructional course and range time", while I needed more practice since I was a first time shooter. I was very comfortable at the place. The only reason I am giving it four stars, is the range is downstairs, which when we were there smelled a bit damp. I highly recommend this place. read more

This has to the worst place to go. Extremely unprofessional on the phone and worst of all, the business closes before their hours of operation. I placed an order, after I get the call that it has arrived, I get out of work early and cancel training just to make it before they close. I called twice to tell the staff I'm heading to the place and will be arriving at 5:45 p.m.. I arrived exactly at 5:45 p.m., fifteen minutes before they close which is at 6:00 p.m. to pick up my order and guess what I see, CLOSED GATES!!! This is not how a business should be run. I'm a retiring MOS. I went there today to see if I could get a receipt for a Glock 19 I'd bought from them 18 years before. A kindly range instructor explained about a fire they'd had destroyed most of their books. After 20 minutes of looking he comes up with the receipt book. It was wet at some time.
