The past three times I've came to this locations I've gotten bad, wet, soggy lettuce. I usually go between 12-1 because that's my lunch hour. By the time I get back to work after picking it up, I do not have time to go all the way back to get it fixed. This is ridiculous!! The people are so nice there but the quality of the salad is always in bad condition. Spoke to rusty(the owner) about it when it first happened and he told me I would have a credit. Went back in another day to get my salad and was told I did not have a credit on my account so I didn't bother saying anything about the second time my salad was disgusting. Every now and then I get a major craving for pasta and since it had been years since I had been to Olive Branch, we decided that this would be a great place to get dinner. We got here at around 7 on a Tuesday and we were seated immediately, but I already knew there was going to be an issue because there was a big table full of kids that were screaming and running around and...no, just...no. We decided to start with an order of cheese sticks while we looked over the menu. There was some type of "2 for $22" special going on where if you ordered two pasta entrees you got them for $22, total and free garlic cheese bread, so we went with that. The garlic cheese bread was basically a mini cheese pizza, but it got the job done. For my entree I got the Cajun trio pasta which is penne pasta with crawfish, sausage and chicken topped with plenty of sauce and cheese. This dish was out-of-this-world good! There was a lot of it, I loved how cheesy it was and how generous they were with the sausage, chicken and crawfish and it had a nice little spice to it. I had plenty of leftovers and I will definitely be getting this dish again. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive and she was good about getting everything to us quickly and even gave me a "go cup" for my iced tea. I'm sorry to knock off a star, but I have to because the table of kids that were screaming at the top of their lungs and running around the restaurant, like it was a playground, definitely detracted from the experience. I was wishing the waitress would have gone over and asked the parents to get the kids to chill out, but I guess that's frowned upon in today's society where kids are basically allowed to do whatever they want and never hear the word "no". I've been wanting to try this place for years and finally did. We opted to dine in with two adults and two kids. We had the Cajun trio pizza, sausage/cheese pizza, and kids fettuccine alfredo as well as a ceaser salad. The salad was standard and came out with honey mustard instead of ceaser dressing. I can see that our server was very busy so we didn't mind the honey mustard. The food came out hot and tasty. The winner was definitely the kids chicken alfredo! It was so good we immediately ordered another one. My kids loved it and so did I. We also loved that on Monday/Tuesday pasta is BOGO as well as 25% off your second pizza should you choose to order two. All in all it was a great experience and we will be back. read more

Nice little restaurant with a friendly server. Went there with 3 others. One had a pizza and breadsticks, one had the manicotti, one had an Italian club sandwich which looked really good. I had a calzone. Calzone was burnt on the outside. Pretty good in the middle. Lots of filling and cheese. Their pizza dough isn't great. I also tried a breadstick. Pretty bland and no taste to it. They really need to try something different. Marinara was good. The manicotti looked great and it, as well as the sandwich, received positive feedback. Came by for a quick lunch one day with my aunt and 2 little cousins. The place was pretty packed, but I'm not surprised because there's a lot of buzz around this spot. I've heard several great things about the food so I thought it was finally time to give it a try! Walking in, we were seated almost immediately considering they were busy for lunch. For an appetizer we ordered the hummus, which was good, but I don't like olives or feta. That wasn't a problem as I was able to pick around it and my aunt wanted hummus so we got it. The actual hummus with pita was good! For entrees the two kids got chicken Alfredo which they enjoyed because one almost finished the entire thing and fairly quickly so that tells me it met his standards for an 8 year old. My aunt had the lunch special of half a wrap/sandwich and soup or salad. She got half the Caesar wrap and the shrimp and corn bisque. She told me the Caesar dressing tasted more like honey mustard and not Caesar. I tried it and it didn't taste like traditional Caesar to me. Different, but still okay. Bisque was nice and creamy. I got the spicy Cajun trio and really enjoyed it! It was delicious. I do wish it was a bit spicier since I enjoy spicy food, but I understand not a lot of people can handle spice so I guess it was more standard in spice level. Pasta was cooked nicely, I hate when restaurants overcook pasta. This one was just right and the sauce didn't feel heavy like some pastas. Overall, it was a nice quick lunch. Service was prompt and food came fairly quick as well for how many people were in the restaurant at the time! I'd be back to order the pasta and try something new because it's close to me! read more

This is a very nice italian place that I go to when my other favorites in Marrero are closed or too crowded. Not to say that this place isnt good, its very good. They have a few nice gourmet pizzas on the menu as well as the typical strombolis and salads. Also some good dishes. The menu doesnt reflect the daily offerings, there is a dry erase board that has daily specials along with off menu items. Dont miss that because the few times I strayed from the yummy pizza and tried a special, it was really good. This place was a old Godfathers Pizza, so the layout hasnt changed much but the decor has. The staff is very friendly and patient. They are geared up for kids too. A very kid friendly restaraunt with coloring pages and crayons available. I'll add to this review later. This place is the best place to get Italian food on the Westbank! Ate here for the first time, and you can tell it's a local business that takes pride in their food. They were pretty busy for a random weekday and their food was delicious! They don't skip on the sauce or flavor here! 1. Spinach and artichoke dip was delicious! The only thing I would change is the BREAD that you dip with. I'd rather chips or something lighter. The bread is just so thick and dough-y that I just peeled a thin flake off at a time, if I could. 2. Becky's pasta - so delicious and creamy! Loaded with toppings and the eggplant is just delicious!!! 3. Lasagna - SO GOOD! Beats any other lasagna I've ever had in town!! Seriously! The sauce is just so dang seasoned and so flavorful!!!!! I'm drooling right now! It comes out so hot that even when I was full and was packing my lasagna to-go, it was still steaming! Delicious! What I really didn't care for was the "garlic bread" that you can add on to your entrée. DON'T GET IT. It's basically a 6" mini-cheese pizza minus the red sauce. When I was a child, this place housed a pizza joint that for as long as I could remember held my attention and my stomach filled. That place was Godfathers Pizza. Unfortunately Godfathers left and the business that took its place had some mighty big shoes to fill. Thankfully it was Olive Branch Cafe! I like a great real homemade pizza once in a while when I get tired of ordering from the major chains. Olive Branch is always a steady one that I will go try when I have that urge! The cheese bread that is served with the salads or on order is such a treat, but the pizza is where it is at. The type of pizza where the toppings are laid under the cheese. Extremely Poor customer service and how this business operates. We ordered To-Go since we are not comfortable dining out with Covid-19 (06/27/20) but I didn't know you can't receive a refund after PULLING A PIECE OF HAIR out of the food you just took a bite from? Disgusting. Lost my appetite and did not finish my food of eating less than 3 bites of food and a piece of HAIR. And when calling them the next day (06/28/20) since we ordered late the night before and they were closed by the time we discovered the hair, to explain the situation and experience they of course gave the pity "we're so sorry, we apologize" and when asking for a refund since I clearly wasted my money for food that I clearly did not eat and disgusted me, I was only giving 2 choices. To remake it or a credit. First of all, why would I want to eat your food again less than 24 hours of finding HAIR in my food? Don't you think I would rather want my money back to actually purchase food somewhere else that will not make me loose my appetite? Second of all, once again, why would I want to eat from your establishment after you served HAIR with your food rather it's today, tomorrow or 3 months from now. I do not want to eat here for some time after finding hair. It would of taken me a while before even thinking about ordering here again with the trust issues of finding something disgusting in my food. But I have no right to that at all to receive my money back? Basically giving me no options here. Basically saying you either eat our food now or you can eat our food later with the credit. Disgusting. I used to love going to this place every now and then, but after finding a piece of HAIR, it turned me off real quick, which eventually I would have gotten over it, OVER TIME. We asked not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES for a REFUND and was not given one. The first time asking for a refund, they apologized and said sorry about that we can either give you a store credit or to remake the food, so the second time, confused why we couldn't get a refund, we said no thanks, can we please just get a refund, they apologized again and said I'm really sorry but I can only give you a store credit or we can remake it for you, so really here you're not giving us any other choice after asking twice for a refund. Okay. We took the remake option. Get there, returned the uneaten food AND the goldish brown short HAIR that was found in the food, that I literally had to pull out of my mouthand asked again, still don't understand why a refund couldn't be made, they said the owner ( Russell Autry) has been telling them a lot lately to ask if you can take a store credit or ask to remake the food again, if you say no then they'll refund you. Yet this was NOT the case at all. So in conclusion you would have to argue that you want a refund to receive one because Rusty Autry does not want to refund your poorly made food and loose his money but here ya go, here's your food that you're still basically paying for regardless! Thanks. Appreciate it. I loose my money instead. And didn't even get to eat dinner I paid for. But on top of not being able to eat the dinner I paid for, NO ONE made it RIGHT. Extremely poor customer service as far as beating around the bush just for you to NOT get YOUR money back. I don't understand why the owner had to be on the employees about issuing refunds for inedible food. I can't be the only one who wouldn't enjoy a nice stringy piece of HAIR twined all in their food when trying to chew it?! If I would have gotten my refund, none of this would have been spoken of. But thank you so much for the incredible service you apparently teach your business employees Rusty. This will be the last time my money goes here. Apparently, you were not lying on your website about the "freshest ingredients possible" I did not know HAIR was one of them! This is my parents neighborhood Italian cafe and I never miss a meal at da branch! The Olive Branch as a secret weapon...it's the hummus. I would consider myself a connoisseur of the chickpea puree with all of the tastings I've done...and with an accompaniment of lots of feta, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, and warm pita it's already scored serious points with me. But wait...there's more...it's not oily at all and there's a hint of spice...what is that? Is it a spicy red pepper? I haven't figured it out yet...guess that means I need to keep tasting. The pizzas are also quite delish! The ingredients are fresh and it's a good doughy hand-tossed pie...that's not greasy either. Take my advice and go with the wheat, it's so tasty!! Well, now I'm really confused, because I was certain I wrote a review for the Olive Branch. Guess not. Anyway, it's a little hole-in-the-wall inside of a Marrero strip mall. This is close to my house, so it's convenient for a dinner out. A MAJOR plus is that they have cheap dinner specials on Mon-Wed (posted on the board when you walk inside) and they often have coupons posted on their website. I like good food, but I like good food even more when I save money! The service can be a little slow at times. If you are in a big hurry, they do have takeout available, so you can call ahead. Otherwise, sit and enjoy the atmosphere. It's casual, so sit back and relax :) The chicken pesto pizza is amazing. You can make any of their pizzas into a calzone, if you prefer. The hummus is also a great appetizer (if you don't like olives or feta, you might want to order it without those). Oh, and the kids menu. Such a great bargain. $1 for a kids drink, and $5 for a kids meal. You can choose either fettuccini, spaghetti, quesadilla, or ham & cheese. All of these are huge portions, so there are usually leftovers. This is fantastic for when the little one doesn't agree with my choice of pizza toppings. If you live on the Westbank, this is definitely worth a trip over to my 'hood to eat some good Italian food. read more

This is a nice little place tucked into a large strip mall in Marrero, next to a Dollar Tree. They're very good, and my wife and I really need to get over there more. Their food is great! I've had several pasta dishes over the years and have never been disappointed. My wife always gets the citrus salad, which has romaine lettuce, mandarin oranges, onions, candied pecans, and raspberry vinigrette dressing. We pay extra to add chicken. The salads come in two sizes, she always gets the small bit even that one looks huge. I can only imagine how big the large salad is. This time I had the seafood manicotti, OMG delicious! The carnival pasta is another good one. The lasagna is huge. They do various specials as well. I think on Sundays they do buy one get one half price on pizzas. We've never tried their pizza, though. They also have pizzas, salads, calzones, and other types of pasta as well. The decor is very simple, but there are pretty lights near the entrance. My waitress was also very nice. Our entrees came with garlic bread, which was quite tasty. My sister and my mom ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the Eggplant Parmesan respectively, which they enjoyed greatly! I was very excited to call and hear they delivered wayyyyy in BFE (end of Barataria). I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT!!! The young lady who answered the phone and took my order was very sweet and professional.
