Ahhh yee old classic. The unlimited breadsticks and soup I keep hearing about on TV. This is my first time here and it's not too bad of an experience. Not bad, I wouldn't go out of my way to get them though. For entrees I had the taste of italy which included lasagna, chicken parm, and fettuccine alfredo. Chicken parm was okay, nothing special. Sauce was good, cheese was good, chicken was a little bit on the drier side. Fettuccine alfredo, rich sit you on your ass and regret eating that much, wouldn't change a thing. Lasagna, really good! My girlfriend got the fettuccine alfredo with chicken which fun fact, they use the same chicken as the chicken parm. I went for for girlfriend's birthday which came with a cake and the staff sang happy birthday which was a nice touch. The cake was super rich and hard to eat in my opinion. Overall: Would I come back and eat here again? Are the breadsticks and soups worth it? Not really. There are other local places Portland has that are better. I (woman dining alone for lunch) was taken to a table at the entrance of the dining room in the path of the kitchen. Asked for a better table and was accomodated. New menu is minimal and disappointing. I ordered Aglio e Olio off-menu, and the person waiting on me said they could do it. It came. They had no clue. The pasta was inferior and flavorless, the olive oil (I guess) had absolutely no character and there was no seasoning, no herbs. I had to douse it with salt to make it palatable. Had to drive to order our food because the evening before we tried only to be told that they don't take orders over the phone. Picked out the usual food, soup and salad, spaghetti with meat sauce. Went home and ate it. Food was great but the Hostess completely ignores upon entering. No greeting nothing. I had foot surgery so you couldn't miss us plus no one else was there except the ladies she'd seated prior to us. She proceeded to greet the couple who came in after us and seated them. The food was consistently delicious as always. Our servers timing was way off. Our salad and soup came out with our entrees. She brought our appetizers and no little plates. Yes, we're family but we don't want to eat out of the same plates. The manager checked in with us and asked if we wanted more breadsticks and Alfredo. I used the bathroom and all three paper towel holders were out. I walked to the reception area with wet hands and asked what they had for me to dry my hands. Had such a weird experience. Our server was nice, but someone a couple tables over had peed on a chair they were sitting in. The bread sticks were served cold and not as good as they used to be. They were not desirable.... I only had one. The raspberry mojito wasn't good. A white claw has more punch than the drink I had. I had the seafood fettuccine and the scallops were little dots. Just not impressed!! Staff was a bit slow as well for a party of 6. We only go there once a year but we will not be going any longer. My mother loves spaghetti and meatballs. It's her favorite! She said the meat sauce had no flavor. Meatballs were dry and lacked flavor. We thought maybe salt and pepper would help. We even asked for extra sauce. My favorite entree is the Chicken Marsala. Unfortunately this was overly salty as well and too heavy on the Marsala wine for my taste. Hubby ordered Shrimp Carbonara. Olive Garden lunch is where it is at! For 10.99 I got breadsticks, soup and pasta! There isn't many places you can get that much food for that price. Our server was nice and accommodating. We were able to sit down right away. I would have preferred to sit down in a booth or smaller table as we were sat at a 6+ person table when we were only a party of two. Overall great lunch option, I would probably of want to pay the regular prices for the quality of food. It is essentially an Italian fast food restaurant. read more

Olive Garden still has a place in my heart after all these years. It is simple food but solid. I know some people have said the breadsticks aren't as good as they used to be but I'm fine with how they are. so if they've changed I don't mind. It's nice to have the selection of soups or salad. I get the Gnocchi soup, two bowls actually. I really do love it. Then I'm usually full and just take my entree home, which always reheats good enough for me no matter what I get. I do think they have a decent variety plus they often have specials going on. The take home meals are reasonable too so we totally opt for that as well sometimes. We've always had good service (this is one place I go out because of the bread/soup). Don't always get dessert, but they are also really tasty. Plus they give you a birthday dessert and you get plenty of time to use it. read more

let me start off with the food being great. However, our server maddy/maddie, was extremely unpleasant to be served by. We got sat and had to wait around 20min to get attended to for just water and since we had already been waiting a while we decided to just order all at once. Everything was fine up until the point we were leaving, her entire demeanor was not comforting or kind, so our tip reflected exactly what we felt the treatment was, as anyone would. As we were walking out, we over heard our server talking amongst her co workers about the tip we left her rolling her eyes, she saw us walk by and immediately made it known she was referring to us. This is probably the most unsettling and unprofessional experience I have ever had from a server. I just left here. I want to start this review as someone who appreciates service because I am in the service industry and now in my 20th year. Working for an owner who has a James Beard Award! But I started at Olive Garden 20 years ago. Tonight, I wanted to relax with my brother in law at the bar top. And we did with Abigail and Ethan taking care of us. But! A young ex-employee came in and sat at the bar, talking ill of the establishment and "pumping" up their new place of work. To me, it was disgusting how she talked to her old co-workers about how badly she's glad she was out of there. Okay, so don't come back? But here you are. Sitting at their bar. So, yes I spoke up. She didn't like it, but I didn't like her talking so loudly when I was next to her trying to enjoy my food. And I couldn't. I hope the GM sees this and makes sure she doesn't damper someone else's experience. I meet friends here for lunch from time to time and yesterday I had a chance to meet a friend I only new from online here for lunch. The staff was wonderful and treated great and the food was good as always. Now they were not really busy but what was wonderful is after we ate we sat and talked and the staff was fine with us doing that and actually stopped by to see if we needed anything. We actually lost track of time talking. We were here for almost 4 hours and when we noticed it filling up for dinner we left as we didn't want to take up a table. it was so nice that they allowed us to do this. The food is good when it's good. I got the fettuccine alfredo with chicken on two separate occasions and one time the noodles were nice and soft while it was borderline undercooked another time. What I mean is that the food is not consistent. The breadsticks were also warm and fluffy one time while being hard another time. Had a great experience at this Olive Garden in Clackamas. We went tonight after joining the wait list online. It appears they are only utilizing half of the restaurant. This could be due to staffing or other COVID policies that they have internally. One major down side was that their tap for beers was broken. They also were out of other canned and bottled beers which was extremely inconvenient. Otherwise, we got exactly what we expected when we go to Olive Garden. First meal out of lock down. I am giving an extra star for service and organization. Go to the app and sign in. It puts you in line for your table. The updates are regular and accurate. You are able to know exactly when your table will be ready and plan your travel accordingly. They really have the reopening down. I believe I was just enthralled to be served again. The food tasted so good. For us there was no unlimited soup or bread sticks just a heads up to those expecting that as a usual part of the service. They were not offered we made one allusion to it but our server just shrugged it off and let us know our entrees were coming up. The portions seemed a little smaller than what I remember. I left feel a little wanting. The reality is I am not a fan of chains. It's decent food. Nothing spectacular and little flavor as to not offend. I did notice they didn't seem to spread us out. I treated a few friends to lunch and was prepared for price-shock but I had a gift card which helped soften the blow. The food was tasty although the portions 33% smaller than, say, five years ago. The manager, Jacob, even dropped by the table to greet us ( good marketing skills; it's a fact folks will put up with higher prices if the service is better and more friendly). Ben, our waiter, was very personable and attentive. Upon leaving I used what I thought was a $75 gift card but was told it was $50. They could not print out a receipt so I'll never know.
