I've not gone back in 6 years and never will but wanted to improve the writing. Can I give a place negative stars? I swore I would not go back after the first and second time, but since that was over a year ago, I tried again. No luck. It's the same disgusting food and the same blah-blah staff. I feel for them for having to work there--the place is depressing--but I just wanted Chinese food. Too bad for me, they don't serve Chinese food; they serve an Americanized slop plate with a side of more slop. Save yourself $15 and a stomach ache, and skip this place. Anyone who says they like this place must have been dropped on their head, smoked since birth, and force-fed turpentine as formula, because they have no taste buds or sense. read more

I can eat anything. I couldn't even get thru 1/4. I ordered Szechuan chicken. It was 60% vegetables that were definitely frozen vegetables.. some sauce that was the most bland sauce. I've pretty much ever tasted canned baby corn, canned water chestnut it was pretty gross. I don't give out one stars ever but this place was not good. Came for the lunch special and got the combination one. Shrimp was dirty, poop not washed out. Noodles had NO noodles just bean sprouts, the rice was grainy and greasy. The pork was somewhat eatable. Really dissatisfied and disappointed. Looking forward to a filling and reasonable priced lunch. Service was fast and friendly. However, food was not good. My favorite!! I moved out of state 2 years ago and EVERY time I'm in town, it is a MUST to get my Chinese fix here. The gentlemen that work here are always friendly and love cracking jokes with you. Back when we used to dine in they were very attentive and quick to grab anything needed. Wong's is now pickup only due to the pandemic so I do suggest calling in your order ahead of time. The food.... oh the food... it's sooo tasty! I always get the #1, often a side of their egg flour soup ( it's the best!) My most favorite is the sum gum chow main. Loaded with veggies and tender cuts of chicken, and it's on top of a bed of crunch noodles. The beef and broccoli, shrimp and green beans, pot stickers, and egg rolls are also on the top of my list. If you're looking for flavorful and not greasy wholesome Chinese, please stop in! read more

My friend brought me here about a year ago. Since then we meet up every month and have always had amazing meals. I have tried pretty much everything on the lunch menu and have never had a bad meal. I love their egg rolls, my friend substitutes hers for the spring roll. Such a great deal and so much food that I always take home enough for 1 to 2 more meals. The staff is always friendly and fast. The place is cozy and we always feel comfortable sitting for a few hours and gabbing. I highly recommend this place. read more

Neighborhood Chinese spot that's been here for quite a while. Food is what you'd expect, pretty good. They used to be priced much better but as of recently the cost is way higher to eat here. I had vegetable Chow fun and it Was way way too oily. Not very good. Also I don't like fake flowers for decorations and ugly wallpaper.

I can not imagine how this place stays open. I've been there twice, and both times were horrible. The first time I walked it, thought it was horrible but wanted Chinese so I figured I'd play it safe and order an egg roll. I'm not even sure how you mess up an Egg Roll, but litterally the inside ws not cooked, and doughy. I'm not even sure what made me go back, except the limited choices of Chinese food in the Milwaukie Area and a bad memory. This time, when I first walked in I thought I should just walk out, but I asked an couple walking out how was it, and they said "good as always." I left an entire plate of food after 5 bites, knowing if I ate more the food would most likely make me sick. Microwave Reheated - Dried out - over fried - over breaded chicken with a "General Tso's sauce" that I think was mostly just gelatin with brown food coloring and maybe a little catsup and bbq sauce. Even the rice was bad - seriously how? Before paying the bill and walking out disgusted, I mentioned that I found the food inedible and they just looked at me dead pan like they probably hear that a lot. I don't believe anyone working there has any idea how bad their food is, and it's so bad that I can't imagine them every making it better. They should just quit, shut the place, down and go to cooking school. I walked out, leaving an entire plate of food, even the tea was undrinkable, how do you mess up tea? The taco bell across the parking lot was sadly better. What a waste of time, money, and luckily while I felt off for a bit after eating there, I did not get full blown sick - only because as mentioned I only ate a few bites. The vegetable chicken soup was very a good amount of broth which is the way I like it.

I ordered my favorite menu item Singapore Chow Mein and was very disappointed. It was very bland as opposed to the regular curry spiciness.

The fried rice is my favorite of the restaurants around Milwaukie Their egg rolls are pretty good as well. Unfortunately some of their other food isn't my favorite. The general tso's chicken was more of a tomato sauce and not at all spicy. read more

Portions are good sized. We ordered two combo plates and didn't even get through half of it. Downside was overall, the food was bland and fried shrimp was very thick on the batter, to the point that you could barely taste the shrimp. Hot and sour soup was just ok. Not really hot, not really sour. Also for our preference, don't really care for ground pork in our hot and sour. If it were our only option, we would eat it again, but not if we had a choice. read more

I used to think they had some of the best Chinese food here but it's been a while since I've last had lunch here. Very disappointed with the food on this visit for lunch! First of all it looked as though all of their prices have increased and secondly the quality of the food is not what it used to be. I had a combo lunch with egg roll, chicken subgum chow mein and pork egg Foo young. The egg roll was obviously cooked from frozen and pretty much what you would get at most other Chinese restaurants. The chicken subgum was mostly bland and had way too much celery in it and not much in the way of other veggies. The pork egg foo young was the worst that I have ever had, obviously frozen from food service vendor, deep fried and the gravy also left a lot to be desired. On a positive note, the portions we're huge. I have found at least 3 other great Chinese restaurants since my last visit to Wong's and I will most likely not return here. read more

Order take out and was very disappointed in the meal i got. We order a combo meal with Mongolian beef, fried shrimp, almond chicken and pork fried rice. The beef looked and tasted nothing like beef, the shrimp had a quarter inch of breading on it making it hard to even taste the shrimp, the almond chicken tasted like it had sat for 2 days then smothered in batter and forgot to fry it. This place used to be a staple for me while in the area visiting family. Today I was thoroughly disappointed. The service was horrible! They opened late while patrons were waiting outside. No apologies or greetings when they finally unlocked the front door and turned on the neon "open" sign. We were seated immediately (since they just opened). The guy behind the front desk, who has worked there for years, continually took phone orders before walking over to take our order, or serve us the initial water and tea. He finally took our order and the food came out quickly as always. The crab puffs were delicious today, not overcooked, and just the right amount of cream cheese and crab...yum! The pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and BBQ pork was good as usual, but the fried shrimp was extremely greasy...so greasy, we couldn't eat them. In addition to the server/front desk guy being unfriendly when opening the door, we also saw him rolling his eyes at customers when they asked for extra red sauce, hot mustard, etc. This is not the first time this particular person has been unfriendly, but it's the first time we've witnessed him reacting to customers with an attitude. There used to be a guy there that was super friendly and actually remembered me and my order everytime I came in...down to the specific changes I made to the #1 special. Boy, I really miss that guy! I recently ordered food at your place. The wong tongs were dry not fresh. The shrimp was oily, the noodles were over cooked. I would never eat their again. I would come here on a regular basis when I lived in the area, and thought the food was good. It has been 4 years and find myself in the area again. I wanted food late at night after painting all day. I did not feel like putting in a lot of effort for dinner. Picked up some almond fried chicken, fried rice, and subgum to go. The food was similar to what I experienced in the past but far more greasy than I remember. I put some of it away, and then put some away in the garbage. I have to give them credit for good and prompt service, but the food was too greasy. Not good greasy, bad greasy. What did I learn today? I've been to the Wongs Garden on S.E. Woodstock in Portland before and for Chinese Food around this area, its not bad. Plenty of food for what you pay for, although they do tend to bulk it up with vegetables! We read the reviews on Yelp and thought we would give them a try. It's pretty much the same restaurant, obviously. I think the service here in Milwaukee is a little faster but the food is still just as good as their southeast location . I had the House Kung Pao. ($11.50) "Huge portion". Granted it was 4/5 vegetables.... It was still pretty good. Plenty of scallops, chicken and prawns. It comes with white rice but that was an afterthought for me. I spent my time digging through and finding all the delicious meat. The menu said it was spicy but I did not think so at all! I saw what I thought might be spices. After a few bites I was unimpressed. The "SHOWSTOPPER" was the (omygoodness) large Crab Puffs. Most places have crab puffs but they pale in comparison. These crab puffs are at least 4X bigger than most. And... And... They are creamy and delicious! The food comes out as it's ready. Not all at once. That's fine for most people but not everyone likes that kind of service. The staff were all friendly and the restaurant was nice and clean. We will definitely be back again. read more
